      You got it!. Thanks for the support Rudy

    FYI sometimes the low voltage pressure switch wire will touch the liquid line and the liquid line will burn through the insulation of the wire in heat-pump mode causing a direct short in the low voltage circuit. So having a 3amp and 5amp gas furnace mini breaker for $10 each is always good (don't waste $50 on a "Popper"). In this case the installer didn't put a 3/4" romex connector on the 10AWG circuit to the disconnect. Good eyes...

      Nailed it!!.. Thanks for the support and feedback

      Your right, that pressure switch wire was the cause of a short on two goodman hp units I worked on.

    Wow... nice find 👌 👏 👍

    good find, the installers should have put a yellow bushing in the back of the disconnect or ran the wire on the side of the disconnect with sealtite.

      Thanks, No doubt. Was a learning curve for that installer.

    Would a bad heat pump board trip the breaker

    • @VictorofHVAC
      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible and I have seen happen before.

    What if the heat pump breaker is fine, but the e-heat breaker won't reset, (I realize it could be a bad breaker).

    • @VictorofHVAC
      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There could be multiple problems. Continuity from ground to the bad component would tell you the answer 👌. Sounds like something is grounded. That is if, the breaker won't reset when power isn't present. But then again it could be a weak breaker too

      @@VictorofHVAC Thanks, any idea where I should start looking? I'd rather not replace the 50 amp double breaker only to find out something simple is just grounded...

    The low pressure wire will blow the 3 amp fuse not trip the breaker on the line voltage lol

    • @VictorofHVAC
      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that, lol... I don't remember saying that if in the video if I did. Thanks for pointing that out though. I'll have to back and watch it again to double check myself

    That is a MASSIVE code violation, the inspector should be called up on charges......what else did he miss?

      No doubt!.. The electrician said that he had to clean up a few things when I followed up with him

    You can’t change a disconnect never heard of AC tech not being able to change a condenser disconnect.

    • @VictorofHVAC
      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course you can, but the disconnect wasn't the issue. The wire need to be replaced from the arching. ( no slack in the wire)

    So you left the customer with no Cooling? Do you not pull new wire, I mean let's get the customer running.

    • @VictorofHVAC
      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I left them down for an hour and it was 72 degrees out that day. The customer's electrician came out that same day to fix it and the customer was good. I don't like liabilities brother 🤙
