    Gotta love that kind of call, and your quality of service is a cut above the rest. How many no cools or pm’s would you say is reasonable in a day? Just for some background, I installed American Standard residentially at a top tier outfit for 4 years before I moved states and I originally applied to be a tech but got hired for install. When I was interviewing they said their techs do about 3-4 calls a day. I’m at a tiny company on the service side of things, with a couple installs a week now. I’m finding that I’m often installing full systems with no help, and when doing service about 5-6 calls. The owner doesn’t believe in the necessity of a vacuum pump, so I bought my own. I’m at 29/hr plus commission and I’m not young anymore. I feel like my expectations and standards are too high to stick around forever.

      Thank you sir, It's hard to say how many calls but I would say 4-6 calls a day is average. Some go smooth, some don't. Installers are not easy to find. Good ones anyways. Keep doing your thing and it will pay off in the long run. 👍

    Did you check her warranty? If she does she only pays for a labor only and besides that you did awesome troubleshoot and very helpful for the beginners 👍

      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @VictorofHVAC

    So did you even look to see if there was a bug in the contactor?? Happens all the time around here. May not have even needed a new contactor

    • @VictorofHVAC
      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course I did Steve. I can't count on my hands and toes how many times I've seen ants or better yet a palmetto bug in the contact points. But appreciate your input. Stay safe 🤙

    Could have been burn wiring to compressor or burn compressor, may be jumping the gun .would of looked back if when turned power and it smoked

    • @VictorofHVAC
      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate your input but the concept behind this diagnosis has nothing to do with the compressor. I can see where your coming from though Don

      @@VictorofHVAC Thank you for your reply back .I worked on them any years I was very good at what I done I was no parts changer if you know what I mean and sure you do.

    My thermostat would turn on. No AC. HVAC guy said it's my defrost board. Orders part. Now this afternoon the unit is running, thermostat on, and cool air from vents. Is it possible to have a bad defrost board and it spontaneously start working?

    • @VictorofHVAC
      @VictorofHVAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They normally don't all the sudden work but it's possible. If the failure is on the incoming terminal, then yes. Goodluck and hope your hvac guy knows what he's doing. Defrost board diagnosis can be tricky sometimes 👍
