" Having supportive people in your life make you end up being able to take risks" This is such a true statement, in most cases, there are people around you who will criticize what you do and in fact to give you more negative information on how you could fail if you are to proceed with your ideas, but if you have your immediate family or friends supporting you or giving you courage with positive information it gives such energy to initiate action and drive forward with a positive mind. Well I must say I am impressed with Jeff Bezos. I grew up in El Paso Texas not far from Albuquerque. He seems like a rather simple man and having a resourceful father as a role model and he seems to have a sense of balance. Very few billionaires appear and have that. I don't know anything about blue origin. It's very ambitious and whether or not humanity needs to be exploring out there we have barely discovered what's in our oceans and there's so much untapped here on planet Earth. I Would enjoy getting to spend some time and meet Jeff Bezos. I have been an entrepreneur my entire life. It's all I've known and I love it. Keep rockin on Jeff and don't lose your sense of balance. I love that you're a good family man and an inspiration to the people you work with. I hope I meet you someday.
Everything starts with the family. A good family environment is what gave us Jeff Bezos. He had all the strength he needed, moral, monetary, and otherwise to take the risk because he knew that if he failed he would not be alone. The nuclear family is central. Without it we will crumble.
That's insane cause I may put $1000 to buy a stock I think might go up but never think that $1000 would bring me back 2 Mil! That's crazy and what's even crazier is Amazon was out for awhile before it skyrocketed to what it is now. The first 10 years of Amazon Bezos probably thought it was gonna be a bust.

try working in the warehouse - not so great- prob the highest firing rate occurs there and not because people are lazy- we work like robots at impossible standards of productivity and quality
That is so true, you can explain things to people, but you can't understand things to people. Also, in my view innovation is the ability to both reinvent and create new.
I often dream of going back to the days before Walmart and Amazon, when specialty stores were plentiful. The character of so many small towns has been gradually stripped away. Book and record stores were a great place to hang out and meet people. The price of progress often seems too high. Whether this "progress" is a net good is highly debatable.
@Bainsworth not even lol. There are so many marketplaces for people to sell their goods. They dont need to make a huge investment of renting out some real estate to do it. XD. The opportunity to make money is more prevalent than ever
Sure they treated you better, perhaps, but you PAID A HIGH PRICE FOR IT. And it is not "highly debatable" ---- people have spoken: price is a higher motivation than nice talking people. And NORMALLY the actual articles or items you buy are of same quality. The issues at risk here are of a different sort, the enormous level of power and discrimination these mega companies acquire can and at times is used for very narrow [political] objectives.
@Bainsworth because they're intermediates? If you were just as smart as the half of what you're writing you'd be a billionaire. Complaining from your spot seems as easy as making up news. No backup simply but alot of dooming on the ones that you are not.

He looks overwhelmed by his own prophecy. He was running on barely any profit for years but knew things would go big one day. You can see how many sacrifices he had to take to be where he is now. You work hard for decades knowing things go big, yet as a human you keep having doubts, and then there you go, being the richest man of this planet but you kinda wait to wake up, but you start to realize that's it. That's the feeling he has. When initial determined surreality turns into reality.

It was an excellent interview with beautiful background.

William Taylor we still have specialty stores. It’s just more expensive and less convenient to go there now.
@Bainsworth not even lol. There are so many marketplaces for people to sell their goods. They dont need to make a huge investment of renting out some real estate to do it. XD. The opportunity to make money is more prevalent than ever
Im done with Amazon and Walmart. If you shop at either then shut up about how much money there making.
