It just goes to show status quo weren’t just capable of performing 3 chord hard rock songs. Rick parfitt is my absolute favourite rhythm guitarist and his voice is phenomenal, RIP Rick
My four year old son who is obsessed with Status Quo was soooo excited to see this clip. His hero is Rick and laughed at his hair back in these early days vidoes haha. Thank goodness for the person who uploaded this!
Great song that never got the recognition it deserved, I wish we could have put this in Straight as Quo's set list when we were out gigging around the UK, Love this song.👍
Dam , 1st time i heard this, ! Was a wee 1 year old back then, fcuk, a great song from a great group, I 1st heard the quo in the 70s as a kid back then,! God Bless from northern Ireland UK, great upload,,!
The hairy cornflake.... it's a decent track this but I'm pleased it was only a minor hit. We would've missed out on 1970 - 1976 classics as we know them. ✊🎸
It's obvious they were tired of that music ! I mean it was 1969 and a nice clean pop song wasn't on many people's agenda. This was a band who couldn't wait to play some honest raw-rootsy RnR without any frills or having people tell them what to wear.
Worthy but entirely woeful at the same time, they were part of a derivative beatlsey 60s thing at this time. So glad they created their own monstrous thing. The Beatles had to split up in order to stop playing the shit. Everyone had to toughen up at the start of the 70s. Can always hear echos of the 60s in Quo’s vocals and chord progressions
Absolutely superb sound. They were so creative in these days.

Rick had a really good voice. What a talent.
Rip rich profit
@@michaelrichardson1898 Your mistake is really funny!
His wasn't the strongest voice in the world and as he got older and 'indulged' more it became even weaker. Much prefer Francis Rossie singing.
Bet they hoped this one would stay buried
Alan had the best voice of quo@@photodom2000
Quo went on to become LEGENDS. Sooooooooooooo many great songs.
This song really gave Rick the opportunity to show everyone just how good his voice was, and what he could do with it.
For me, the best song ever to fail to make it in the charts. Magnificent.
It did chart in the UK in 1969 @ number 50, and later re-entered the charts @ number 46.

Wow, never knew this was filmed, 2 years later, full on Rock n roll, RIP Rick and Alan

This is a ripper.song..that late60,s sound..but it's the status quo sound...so unique ❤❤
THANK YOU. R.I.P. Rick
Just before they made it big l presume. I'd never heard this track before l confess. What a difference in style to the rockers they would become.
Good Song. Sounds like early Bee Gees ;-)
my thoughts too
The Bee Gees wrote that song.
Quo also did a version of Spicks & spacks from the Bee Gees.
@@dirtyharry3160 japp I know that, they did some cool stuff that time, right before their Boogie Life.
@@cyphartgoesacoustic No they didn't. It was writen by a guy called Anthony King. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Are_You_Growing_Tired_of_My_Love
Status Quo was an amazing band yes they were Status Quo all the way they created some beautiful music!
Such a great song, and what a beautiful voice Rick has
R.I.P. Alan Lancaster!
Fantastic bit of history. I’ve never seen this clip before. Thank you 🙏
absolutely...fantastic
The Way We Were!!!thank you !!!
Habe ich damals im Fernsehen gesehen, super Erinnerungen
GO! GO! Status Quo. "The greatest rock and roll band in the land"
Steve Robinson, I'm laughing😂 at you you know that right? Better than the Beatles, Eagles, The Tremeloes, Stones, Hollies, Bad Company etc.?
I like this périod more than any other else.
Fantastic, Status Quo's best song ever and in my own top 20 all-time pieces of music.
R.I.P.Rick you are my Hero.
MI BANDA MUSICAL FAVORITA DE CUÁNDO YO ERA UN ADOLECENTE HASTA EL DIA DE HOY STATUS QUO ES MI BANDA MUSICAL FAVORITA
Beautiful song ❤
They all look bored to tears! Rick looks hilarious!
Arguably this magnificent band's finest output
A blonde Tom Cruise singing- lol this song drove my ex wife crazy every time I would play it
Mis amados héroes del Rock and Roll
Love this song never new why it wasn't successful.
Superb
Danke Rick
They changed directions at the turn of the seventies
Classic
A year or so later they grew their hair longer, switched their chic suits to denim jeans and changed from psychedelic rock to boogie rock
Hermoso tema de esta gran banda💯
Que hermosa rola 😍
1969 Woodstock
beutiful bass playing from Alan.
Alan playing bass with fingers not plectrum. I notice these things.

QUE HERMOSA TU VOZ RIFF PARFIS
Rick!
Sounds so close to the Bee Gees!

They sound like the BeeGees
Rick was actually told to learn how to sing like the BeeGees for this song specifically
@@marty6779 I can’t hear the difference.
I was surprised to find that Nancy Sinatra recorded this the same year as a B-side.
This could easily have been a song by the Tremeloes. Very much the sound of the time.
I much preferred their earlier stuff like this to their later 3-chord offerings!
They should’ve had Rick sing more leads in their songs.
This song broke my ex and I up I ones it singing it but she took it too personally
Sounds a bit like The Bee Gees - To Love Somebody
Quo do the Bee Gees. Not bad at all.
My ex wife took this song too seriously as I was trying to say something to her about us
MUY PARECIDO AL ESTILO DE LOS BEE GEE
👍♥️🎸
Album: Spare Parts
It sounds more Bee Gees than Quo. I respect their choice of going outside the proven formula, but I'm glad they didn't pursue this too far.
The Best Song From 1969, what do you like?
Bee Gees (or Dusty Springfield) would have made this composition a chart hit
To be honest they actually look kind of bored with it. You can see Rossi and Lancaster desperate to get into some Boogie.
I didn't see any boredom. But great to see their wonderful keyboardist Roy Lynes! As for boogie, you can have too much of a good thing.
It's obvious they were tired of that music ! I mean it was 1969 and a nice clean pop song wasn't on many people's agenda. This was a band who couldn't wait to play some honest raw-rootsy RnR without any frills or having people tell them what to wear.
Керр ? Накрылся аккаунт Эрики Эльфийской ?
Анжела! Все в порядке , как очень точно сказал Андрей - я хочу избавиться от Ютубзависимости , надоели все эти сплетни ,вранье , чушь...
Very Bee Gees like.
Rick was a charismatic and very talented individual. Unfortunately, his vocals didn’t quite have the resonance of Francis’s.
HUH? Rick singing lead? Whats that all about?
ach..kann der Drummer schön seine Stöcke drehen....aber die Komposition ist wirklich sehr gelungen.....
Obviously we are far far away from the band that will become boogie rock band 😂
They were so darn good in their psychedelic period in the late 60s, after that they went shit.
Is that his nans wig 🧐
Worthy but entirely woeful at the same time, they were part of a derivative beatlsey 60s thing at this time. So glad they created their own monstrous thing.

🔵THEY SURE LOOK UNFAMILIAR I WAS ONLY RECOGNIZING THE ORGANIST AND DRUMMER. THAT MUST'VE BEEN BEFORE 'PICTURES OF MATCHSTISK MEN'.🔴
Yes their sound remembers me on the Bee Gees. But it dont really makes me happy; the harmonies are not very pleasant.
Awesome , shame about the presenter.
I am a hardcore quo fan, but i swear i never heard this song. And Man it is so awful, omg so shitty 😢
Truly awful. They look suitably embarrassed. Glad they made the change.
Not a classic. Lyrics are forced at times
Horrible horrible horrible
let some other man have this song passed onto from me for his woman. 🥀 🎚️🎚️
Super
Not my cup of tea
