Sunday January 9th 1977. I was 15 years old and travelled with 2 friends from the Forest of Dean by car and train and hitch hiking to get there. Best day of my life. Managed to get home at 4.am. Still the best band ever and the 2 friends are still, after 48 years best friends ever. Love you guys. We will meet up again this year on January 9th as we do every year and drink a toast to Rick and Alan ❤ QFFQ

I first saw Quo in 1975 and again in 1977 at Festival Hall Brisbane Queensland. I also saw Queen in 1977 and without doubt Quo were a much better live band. Queen was stunning but Quo live were the best live band I have ever seen. I have seen about 50 other acts in my life including Powderfinger with my now deceased son and all paled when compared. My then 12 year old son in the 1990's was stunned by the force of playing by Quo and loved them also. Rest in Peace my son.

Live from the "cowshed", the Quo of my youth. Great to see and a great reminder of what gigs were like with a hungry young audience. Too much saturation and accessibility has made people bored of live music. I never used to hear conversations going on back then. Now it's sometimes a struggle to find a section of the crowd that don't think their own conversation is more important than what is going on onstage.

The notion that music must be complicated to be any good is ridiculous. Musical value isn't about how complicated it is to play. If you think so, then in my book, you play music for the wrong reason. Music should always be about communicating feelings of any sort ( except boredom!) And less is often more...

A whole new adventure in rock music, I have made up for a 50 year absence by grooving to them ever since with no sign of letting up. I cannot get enough. That said, I am continually impressed by the fans from all eras. I have seen many artists over the years, and I like to get up and boogie. Alas, I have never witnessed anything like what I just saw in this video. Moreover, you are right about the differences in grooving to guitars and the not-so-smart phone used today. I would have payed 1 million Deutsche Mark if i could have seen such a live performance back in the late 1970s when i hit the world of QUO after they released the "Whatever you want" album. These are the things i like TH-cam for! Great. Quo will perform in Wolfsburg (Capitol of Volkswagen) in late june 2024. I'll be there and probably will see "them" there for my very last time. While all of the videos merit appreciative comment, events in this film occurred during my first year of college. That is truly 'taking me back'. Had I then known of SQ, I would have been an avid fan. All the more, those who were there, as well as those responsible for this video, have forgotten more about Quo's music than I will ever know. For more than I can say, "Mega-thanks!"

I never saw the Quo of this era, I feel like I've totally missed out. Whitley Bay in about 85 or 86 is where it all began for me. I was tasked with taking my younger brother(passed away 2006 age 32), not really having listened to Status Quo before. My mind was blown; they started with Whatever You Want and I just remember the whole crowd bouncing up and down to that classic beat. I had tickets once again with my brother to see them in Edinburgh late Dec 06. He passed just 2 weeks before. My family talked me out of cancelling telling me to take my son and enjoy a band who my brother loved as much as me.
Memories are the fabric of our lives, I urge everyone to make them today and don't wait until tomorrow. 🎸

I was there for this gig, it was a Daily Mirror pop awards concert and i believe Nutz supported them, this or perhaps Budgie, this among with Cardiff castle are amongst my favorite Quo gigs, ( out of 200 plus )

Cardiff Castle was a phenomenal gig. I'd seen Budgie a couple of times before so they were a bonus. Hawkwind, Curved Air [with Stewart Copeland on drums) and the Strawbs supported. If my memory serves, Rossi and Parfitt took a stroll up to the top of the old ruined castle steps and were waving at the audience. The audience, of course, waved back!! Hawkwind were on stage at the time and front man, Bob Calvert, was none too impressed 😂

Seen Quo as a young lad in 1973, 74, 75 and 76 here in Australia, they blew every venue to kingdom come, they were at their peak in those years, so sad by 1978 they started turning to shit.

The way Francis long strides in a circle with a bouncy step and small stomp when he doing the first solo in DWMT is great. Never seen anyone do that before. And of course, the guitar sound is great, of course !

For me, when they recorded the RAOTW album, that was the end of the best Status Quo sound. I heard the concerts past then were still great, until a certain point.
I can't say definitively, but the little I've heard on the net is still Status Quo like enough to enjoy the sound Most Of The Time (I find it amusing that the fans would say No!. Little did they know, it was to be close to a No! in the sound to come. I always thought, All Of The Time! 🙂). It isn't like it used to be, of course.
Enjoy life, be ready for heaven, and that there is eternal joy.
      All the Best.
