Nuff and Spud were the heartbeat of the band, they got rid of Spud first and it put them on life support and when Nuff left they were just an average covers band.
They didn't have much success in US in 70s & after, beats me why, they seem right but Disco ruled & they had great success elsewhere. Yanks are fickle.

Rossi himself said that in the early days they made quite a few mistakes live. It was after recording their 1977 Live! album, where more than a few duff notes can be heard, as they refused to use overdubs, that they realised they needed to start rehearsing more for the live shows, hence their better plsying in later years. I still love that raw energy of the Live! album, though

Proper Quo. Reminds me of when I bought Quo Live back when I was a kid, What a brilliant live album that is. Live at Glasgow Apollo , the album still sounds great today. One of best live albums ever for me. Great days . 👍👍
This is fantastic to see the real Quo in live action. Its easy to be critical of the performance in the cold light of day 50 years later, but to be there and see them perform live would be mind blowing. i saw them do this when they toured Australia in the 70's and they were the best going around. its a hard song to sing. Rick blew himself till he was red in the face. all the little musical Quo nuances are on show. this is one of my most favourite Quo songs from my most favourite Quo album.

Amazing the clips that have been hidden away for so many decades. This is the stuff that Quo Army was built on. And it’s a live recording. These guys were all gold. I’ll be able to still watch this when I’m in a nursing home and beyond. YES !!

Thank you for posting. One of my favourite Quo tunes. I have been listening to them for over 50 years now and this is just as I remember seeing them in the early days. Raw, unpolished, loud and utterly brilliant. If you could bottle the atmosphere they created at gigs back then you would be a very rich man indeed. Over the years many have knocked them but few have ever emulated them and the spirit of rock and roll they created. Wow wow wow!!!

For your information... rick played Gibson SG, some scheckter tele, an black gibson special for 4500 times, an fender jaguar, the Ovation viper, or some other spares he had, also his white telecaster since mid 1974... his first appirence was at the Wembley Stadium 1974.... from there on it was his trademark guitar.... and they playing sound city, marshall or vox amps always compared to their sound they want to make, vs chorus, flange, echo, delay distorted/ overdrive boost effects, kicking some butts, loud and good often heavy headsdown nonsense boogie, making it good and funny for the audience and listeners😊

And the original Quo line up is to say it with the speaker of the legendary "LIVE in Glasgow" from 1976: " The greatest Rock n Roll Band in the World!" The Reunion in 2013 was a present and Rick and Alan are forever in my Heart.

Alan Lancaster was an amazing bass player, Quo get all the love for the 2 guitarists (rightly so) but the rhythm section was so tight 🤘😬

Outside of pictures of matchstick Men piledriver and their self-titled are easily the album that stick out within my opinion

Along with Paper Plane, Big Fat Mama are my favourite Quo tracks. Both on my favourite Quo album Piledriver. Classic Quo. Keep on Rockin.
