Especially the roof. 😍 I'm also willing to bet that every time you walk into the room with the lantern you just stop and stare at it for five minutes. Then forget what you went in for and leave again... 😄
Hey Nerdforge! Regular Worbla user here! If you heat the worbla just slightly (not enough that it's soft and floppy, but just until it's warm) it's WAY easier to cut with a box-cutter! It also helps if you sandwich craft foam between two pieces of worbla. That way it's a lot studier and holds its shape better :)
holy moly, I loved the segment where you researched what the best method is to make the old glass effect you wanted. That was really smart, and the result was a perfect looking solution you didn't have to make any compromises for!
It's just so amazing to see, how much fun you guys have with all your projects and the materials (e.g the brass plate xD). You make me laugh everytime and it is so relaxing! I love you creativity and you inspire me to be creative, too
My favorite discovery was when I found out that Wallmart carries solar powered garden lights for just a couple of bucks. Sometimes I can find them for a dollar. I have garden light guts hanging out all over my workspace; sitting on window sills, bookshelves, next to sculptures... just collecting dust and casting spooky light all night. I like your lamp so much, I might just have to take your idea and put my spin on it!
The natural and demonic fires look so homey and like cozy, they make me want to make some herbal tea, and sit next to a fire reading the hobbit or lotr.
I found your channel a couple of days ago and I've been binge watching it ever since. I just wanna say you are so cute and so talented!!! Everything you do is just amazing!

When you talked about the concept and said fairy I immediately thought of the lantern in the thumbnail but wir little shadows of fariy. Kind of as if it was ingraved in the back of the "glass". I imagine it lokking like they are trapped to give light. Would be kind of cool.
In my experience, the best light diffusing material for projects like this is diffusing layers from broken lcd panels, usually there are several, and there are also fresnel lenses, which give a cool depth effect.

Now that you mention it we should have addressed that! Arduino inside pvc tube 😂 and power cord is going along the chain, through the wood and out at the bottom 😊
Nerdforge placing the Arduino inside the tube is really clever, you should have shown that 😉 How do you transform from 230V AC to 5V DC though? Temporary supply for the video? Wall adapter? Curious because I’d like to use those “fat” power chords you use in the chain here (normal sized when talking 230V) for permanent projects that need 5V DC :)

Such a nice project. And a new video from Martina and Hansi. Yeah! I recognized the piano/trumpet music from a costuber who works with worbla and makes cool stuff. The aforementioned music piece is her opening. Sort of her trademark opening music. But its still nice to listen to. And I am also bad with estimating time when working on my art projects.
This was a really great project. Something that can be implemented in other ways. Awesome craftmanship on the lantern and good job with the code. Keep up the great work.
This is why light fascinates me. That thing you made covered in leds went from highly amusing (if you're immature and crude like me) to Sci fi, just because you wrapped it in that piece of paper to diffuse the light it was giving off.
PandaCatPlayz for me, a book costs around NZ$10 to make. I use unscented floss for wax thread, faux leather (NZ$5 for 30cm, which is enough for three a5 books), 1 a4 sketchbook (120gsm, 60 pages, also $5), wood glue, which I already had, but regular PVA works as well, some high gsm paper for end pages, and I push pin with some scrap polystyrene underneath for a receiver. The more books I make, the cheaper it is, because paper reams are cheaper than sketchbooks, but all in all not that much compared to other things. I used Sealemon to learn kettle stitch binding, and also how to make a book press, which cost me less than NZ$20 to make. Hope this helps!
