Same damn problem for me today. These guys spend way too much time taking off the easy shit they cover in every video, but skip over important installation tips
you need a gasket for the thermostat housing in addition to the thermostat. you should be able to reuse the original, but you probably have it lopsided. screw all the bolts in, but don’t tighten them until they are all down to the base, then tighten them all down at the same time

you have to bleed the cooling system or you’ll get coolant all over the place when you drop the thermostat housing
