Nice tutorial - before installing the oil filter you should always lay a thin film of oil on the filters rubber gasket - then install by hand (as was done here). Everyone says use clean oil, suppose you should, I just dip my finger in the oil pan and apply that.
Come too findout years later this engine orientation has a big problem and it’s one of the most Sludgy engines Toyota ever made. So you need too use Full Synthetic high mileage 5w-30.(Walmart SuperTech -$14 for 5 qts).Change the oil every 3000 miles or 6 months of light use and get your Toyota Filter at Walmart for $7.This particular setup takes 4.7 Quarts (not 4.5 or 5).If you have a bad Valve Cover gasket then drain out 1/4 of a qt. That way you don’t leak said 1/4 qt down the front of bank 2.Also you do not have too remove the plenum to change plugs 💪🏻
Jonathan Napier actually, that is the best funnel there is in the market, it's just the way the engine oil filler hole is half open, so when the funnel rest on top, it's only half open for oil to go into, so you can see that we did spill due to that. Newer vehicles now don't have that problem. I think its only older vehicle that has that weird opening on it, especially Toyota,
In the 1992 Owner's Manual, (p. 184) removing the oil pan plug shows loosening the plug by turning clockwise, yet in this video, the plug is loosened by turning counterclockwise. Which is correct? I couldn't get it loose turning clockwise. I need to know which way to turn before throwing too much muscle into it by using a pipe "cheater."

+Khalila Garcia always know that lefty loosey, righty tighty. So turning it counter clockwise is loosening it.
