I remember when they were called Pic N’ Save! The Big Lots near me closed a few months ago and it had a sign that said it was ONLY this location. I didn’t think it was going to be ALL of them☹️
I do too! They had multi color chewy circus peanuts that were so good …. I’m still in shock . I think many more stores will follow in less than 10 years …
Thank you for doing this video. I am literally crying watching this. I love Big Lots so much and I will miss it badly. But with this video I will have something to remember it by.
Party City is also going out of business, too. 😭 Party City is currently headquartered in my State of New Jersey (Woodcliff Lake, NJ, 30 miles NW of New York City/Manhattan). 😭
I liked Big Lots back in the day when they were mostly a buy-out store. Their prices are a lot more expensive now and they tried too hard to be trendy like Target. I'll have to check out the deals when they go up to like 50% off or more. I always did like their holiday items though. That Christmas gnome was really cute! Maybe I do need to see what they have here.
I swear every day a different store announces it's closing. I'm legit starting to think retail stores will be a thing of the past soon lol, online shopping only.
I'll likely pop by the one near my home, for their after Christmas sale. To think, I started shopping online for Christmas presents because I got tired of fighting the crowds and the traffic on Black Friday. And kept doing that ever since. Looks like I wasn't the only one.
Thats funny i actually went last Weekend to do one last Christmas shopping here in Texas . I been going for the last 3 years since ive gotten (Sober) im really going to miss it though for sure 😔 happy holidays by the way ✌🏽
Worked there for 3 years I knew about it last year and they were going bankrupt. I started hearing and seeing things I didn't like so I found another job. It was a good time to get out. They kept repeating the same seasonal items every year and their prices went up and people stopped coming in. The furniture is very cheap and flimsy and falls apart made in China. How do I know because I tried to put some furniture together like shelves... And it was so frustrating. Honestly there was nothing great about that store. At $10.50-$11.00 a hr it wasn't worth it .
Lots of videos today love it! Yes you did call it not too long ago. It’s a shame. I just got the Bumble and the Jack inflatables from there guess I should’ve waited for the 50% off!
And there's a Big Lots location next to an abandoned KMart where I live, making it all the more depressing....not that I ever cared for Big Lots since their furniture looked chintzy anyway.
Its funny imagine a 800 usd couch and then take a 50 usd discount off for closing… well now you dont have to imagine its called Big Lots closing sale.. guess they forgot their target market what morons!!!
It is sad 😔. I know in our area, I always liked BigLots, but because of the location being set back, I would forget about the store unless I heard it mentioned. It might have done okay when others stores were near it, but most have closed.
@@DustinMitchell-t5mHe ran us into the ground after ruining Men's Wearhouse and Sports Authority. I'm devastated, I've worked for them almost 17 years.
I hope it still get its saved before the end of January 25 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 i don't want that store to go. I hope the new owner will restructure ,bring prices down to merge with walmart level somehow and extra variety of new items too
It just closed for me in my location IDK how long but I'm very sad I don't even have a Christmas tree that's how hard is it to find I only know Big lots sell it and I'll miss the memories
It’s not closing all the stores, only locations that have multiple locations, in my town we only have one so it does good, just like our jcpennys ours isn’t closed either
Thanks for Sharing! I had one Big Lots left about a half hr away and that is closing and saw on the news that all the Party City's ate going to close as well , so bummed, I prefer going to stores rather than buying on line .💚🎄
10:30 LOL. That's a blast from the past. Speaking of furniture, I remember being in there four years ago, shopping for a recliner and ripped my pants on an exposed upholstery tack. Good thing it wasn't in a spot that would've left me shopping for a pair of their leggings as well. 🌝🌕🙈
I love big lots. I’m very sad 😢 it’s going out of business. Beautiful wonderful store like big lots gone forever. Crying 😭 Party City is going out of business too. 😭
Big lots used to be great. I remember they used to purposely put their price stickers over the expiration dates on the food and most would be past the date. It was a good place to buy plastic items like trash bins, totes and laundry hampers, but last time I went a few months ago their prices were higher than any other store when they used to be the lowest. Still sad when any store goes out of business. So many empty stores and malls now unfortunately
Do they sell anything that isn’t garbage?!? Lawn santas and toys…future landfill. I stopped going there when I had a weird encounter with an associate.
RIP all big lots stores.⚰️ All my stores are gone here in so cal. Used to buy dvds and blurays and body wash there. Spiced up my dvd collection with movies i bought from there over the years. Fun ride while it lasted and now they're gone forever. Build back worse.
This is sad. Party City just announced they are closing all stores too. Two less Halloween Haunt search spots gone. Rose's took over the Big Lots in my town several years ago. They could pick up a lot of their stores.
Why does he keep saying DVDs and CDs are going to be gone???? They aren't going anywhere, they will be around for DECADES!! there is no other media 🤷♂️ only other Choice is streaming and some people don't even have internet! Not to mention some people like a physical copy of the movie or music!!
Target is no longer carrying dvd ,cd or blu ray nor is Best Buy and Walmart is expected to stop by late 2025 . And most film distributors are trying to lean towards streaming exclusively it’s the sad reality don’t get me wrong I love physical media have a massive collection but it’s inevitable
WOW I am so bummed to hear about Big Lots and Party City. They had great Halloween items this year what the heck so now we have to go to overpriced Spirit Halloween? 😢
Another part of well I'm not going to say for my childhood but Big lots has been around as long as I've been around I think. And it's sad too. You'll see people there that never shop there before, but they'll be going there to get deals. Reminds me of buzzards eating a dead animal. I feel like saying why don't you people support these stores while they're opens and not just come when they close to scoop up the deals? I haven't been to Big lots in a while just because the last time I went there I literally walked out with nothing because the prices were so high. But that's because you go there to get low prices and they have to raise their prices to compete with other places. It's sad. Not going to turn this political but wait until next year in 2026. There'll be a lot more places going out of business sadly because of someone who doesn't understand tariffs is going to be president.
I felt the same way and my heart felt terrible for the employees 5 days before Christmas these people have homes and families and they got dumped on terribly
Ha! Everything I look up on Amazon is too expensive. Soon they will have no competition and they can really charge whatever they want. Walmart just sucks- that's all I can say about them.
@@vistatiger7493 Yea I remember when Amazon had good deals now I go there to be honest I don't do much shopping online but when I'm curious about something it pops up on Amazon then I'm like ah no thanks I'll just skip and save my money 😅

They killed off K Mary, Sears, Woolworth, Montgomery wards, Gemco, White Front, Mervyns, Newberrys, and Kohl's, Target, others getting ready to go belly up. When there is one store left, then a loaf of cardboard sawdust cheapest of the cheap ingredients GMO bread 🍞 will be $15!!! If you are lucky.

Ollie’s is already selling some Big Lots merch, mostly the novelty Christmas gift type items.
Haha I figured that seemed like the logical store to buy that dead stock

Yup they just lost sight of being cheaper than the big box stores at some point
Is this by chance the big lots in Greenville nc. Everything looks familiar
Yes it is
The sad thing is even with those "steep" markdowns, those items would still be much cheaper at Ross or Ollies!
