My H9 seems to have more sound on the left earphone, than the right earphone. I have reset and done every thing possible, but still get the same problem. Strange thing is whenever i pick any other preset on the app, ie commute or clear, the problem gets fixed. However the sound is different and quality is lost. I dont understand why this happens
@@HSR opened, never used and it was named as condition “new” on ebay. When i got it, everything seemed so fresh and chargers, etc were sealed in original packaging. I’ve contacted bang and olufsen hopefully they can help. I feel like it’s a software issue with my device and a glitch with the b&o app as it’s strange. This issue only occurs in the normal optimal setting. When i pick a preset sound from bang and olufsen audio goes back to normal balanced levels on both ears. I then drag the adjuster back to the middle and its fine, however you can still hear a noticeable difference like this in the sound. It’s not right. I can make a quick video on my channel to explain if you want.
The Play / Pause sensors are not buggy. Most people don't know how to enable them. The headphones need to be off your head when switched on. The sensors then calibrate themselves once you put them on. Most people put the headphones on their ears and then switch them on which causes those issues as the sensors can't judge properly.
@EthanFromLondon It’s a fact that the sensors are a hit and miss. As I have done a lot of trouble and also turned them on like you suggested but it still doesn’t work probably. I have now sent them off for repairs. If it weren’t buggy, then why would they take it out of the H9 3rd gen 🤷🏻♀️
Thank for your comment @EthanFromLondon I have tried everything with them. They are a hit and a miss. Especially when compared to the auto play and pause feature of the Sony WH-1000XM4.
@@HSR Like I said the play / pause works perfectly if you switch on your headsets in your hands and hold for 5 seconds before putting them on. The sensors take time to calibrate. Also make sure your hair is outside of the ear cups. Like you I was frustrated until I spoke to B&O and they explained how it works. Now I never have issues.
Great that it works for you. However, I have a duty to try and cover as much as I can about the changes to a product in order to equipped my audience with the knowledge to make the right decision for themselves. I hope you appreciate my point.
Thanks, a really nice comparison video! I only missed one thing, I was wondering if there is a difference in sound with the new Gen 3, that you were able to hear ?
Oh thanks for that feedback. Sound wise it didn’t feel like there was an improvement. It’s using the same technology. That might be the reason. Hope that answers your question. If I may suggest watch the in-depth review of the H9 at m.th-cam.com/video/XOxdHRsSF-E/w-d-xo.html Thank you for your comment and support
@@HSR Sorry but i really disagree. The Gen 3 has a lower roll off bass frequency, which gives them a lot more bottom than the old H9i, a little less tight but not directly uncontrolled. The treble has been reduced a bit and then some of the upper midrange/lower treble frequency has been increased to match the reduced treble. So they still sound okay bright in the midrange/treble area, without the bass color it all. But unfortunately they are a bit less detailed in the upper frequency.
M.V. He thanks for your in depth reaction. If I’m right you mean there is more bass but a little less quality in the high ? I’m not a audiophile (that’s the name right if I’m right?) so I think understand you but not sure :)
@@nickvogelius I noticed this myself when comparing my H9 3rd Gen with my H9i, definitely an overall slightly darker sound with less sparkle in the treble.
Hi Hans. Could you please elaborate a bit more when you are experiencing this beeping sound? As I’m not quite sure. Thank you for your comment and support
I had never experienced that. Having said that, I can confirm that there are no beeping issues with H9 3rd gen when I tested it this morning for you. I tested it for about 30 minutes, lying both on my right and left. Does this help answer you question? I am aware though that the H9i’s had issues with proximity sensors going off at various times. The pair that you have are they the H9i’s? If so, I have heard that on some of them you can have this issue rectified by performing the latest firmware update. Let me know if this helps
In short, it’s the same. However, everyone listens to music in different ways and formats. Therefore fastly changing their experiences. A few of the sequences and driver improvements have been implemented. There has been a reduction in high end and low end tremble with an increase in frequency. I believe this is done to offset the reduction. Other than that in some cases the base is more pronounced. What I would like you to do is if you have access to a shop where you can try out both of them, and just listen to the music that you normally listen to from your normal source of music. Does this make sense?
I found it to be quiet comfortable. However, I’m having stated that, I would like to mention that I am yet to find a pair of headphones that are uncomfortable around the head band. Does this help answer your question?
The Beoplay cabling that come with the H9i’s don’t have a mic with it. I have tried the mic cable that come with the Beats headphones and it doesn’t work. I connected it to my phone and laptop to test. Did that answer your question?
Just a quick heads-up regarding your comment on the battery : You can replace the battery on the 3rd Gen , its simply not as "user friendly" as it used to be , but it take like 5 minutes. I'll post the video down below , it is marked as "hidden" for some reason , which is very unfortunate , no idea why would B&O not make it public. Maybe they had reports from the past generations of customers unintentionally damage their headphones while changing the battery? No idea. www.reddit.com/r/BangandOlufsen/comments/hm3qgu/bo_h9i_vs_h9_3rd_gen/fzqifsh?context=3
I believe you might’ve misunderstood the point that I was trying to make. Please let me try and make sense of it. The battery is not meant to be replaced by users and the videos that are being circulated are meant to be used only by B&O and their franchise or authorised repairers. It is not meant for the public. Furthermore, prying open the headphones to replace the battery by oneself may lead to warranty issues. The reason I stated that the H9 3rd battery isn’t replaceable, stands. As I was exhibiting the differences between the H9i and the H9 third-generation. The battery on the H9 3rd Gen cannot be swap if it’s out of charge. Which was something that users did with the older ones. Furthermore, you have stated that the batteries are replaceable but “not as user friendly” implying that they are meant to be user replaceable. Which, I beg to differ and state they are not. In such manner, all batteries are replaceable. Wouldn’t you agree? Does that make sense?
@@HSR Yet , not letting the user know the battery is REPLACEABLE and it takes 5 minutes , unlike on Bose that you have to disassemble at least 15-20 minutes and solder/desolder. When you pay 500€ for a pair of headphones and it's widely known that batteries degrade over time , its not normal to make the video clip hidden , in my opinion. Or at least , point out in the headphones page discription , that you do infact offer battery replacement service for a fee , even if the product is out of warranty , because there are people unaware that would throw away the headphones once the warranty expires. The warranty period is only 2 years , it'd take longer for the battery to degrade. Would be nice if you , reviewers , at least mention that authorised repaires can replace it. Because it's sad to see people throw away expensive products. It's not just 1 or 2 cases , many people throw away theirs after 3-4 years because of battery fail. As for your point , i get it. You mean that some people used to have 2 batteries with the older model , just in case one runs out of charge at the wrong time. But my point is completely different. It's more like bringing awarness that you don't have to throw in the trashcan an expensive pair of headphones once the battery degrades overtime and you're out of warranty.
