@@shanilkalohitha7303 No he wasn't. Camaron was getting old enough to procreat, so BCR had to decide seperate them or getting him fixed, although he would loose his beautiful mane. They decided to fix him, so that they can stay together.
When BCR rescued Cameron and ZaBu they were separated to gain weight so they could have an examination. Zabu was Spayed and Cameron was given a Vasectomy. But Cameron was really possessive of Bu with keepers and other Cats in the area different cages. So they really didn’t want Cameron to loose his mane but choose to neuter him so he could stay with Bu. Yes he did loose his mane it is testosterone driven.
This couple look more gorgeous than any other animals.

The liger that was featured in the video was named Freckles, and she also lived at Big Cat Rescue. She basically had no teeth in the video (they were in bad condition, so they had to be excised). She was a beautiful girl, but it's sad that people breed these animals for profit. Freckles passed away in 2011. May her brave soul run free.

To those who are seeing this for the first time, Cameron and Zabu have unfortunately passed away this year within weeks of each other. Cameron was the first to pass, and a few weeks later, Zabu followed. Kidney failure was speculated for Zabu, but it was suspected that a broken heart was truly the cause of her passing. Cammy boy and BuBu girl were true companions, and now they are reunited, forever free, running free across the Rainbow Bridge.

@@JsJdv You never know. There is actually such a thing as broken heart syndrome, when the stress from bereavement or such can shut down your systems. It can happen in animals, believe it or not. Plus, you ought to see the BCR videos of Cammy boy and BuBu girl. They were true companions.

Zabu had been with Cameron her whole life, and if Cameron was in the recovery hospital for days, she would be heard crying out for him (nonstop for days on end). Cats are solitary by nature, but with Cam and Bu, this was entirely different. Depression in a cat may seem strange, but that's what has happened to other cats in the past who have had a partner.

This isn't news, zabu and cameron were rescued a long time ago, like back in 2010. they've been at the big cat rescue sanctuary for 7 years

PhantomFandomFails Cameron had gotten too aggressive over time and they had to spay him so he wouldn't accidentally hurt Zabu (he was extremely territorial about Zabu). He has subsequently lost his mane due to the surgery. They are so adorable together.
+PhantomFandomFails I read somewhere that Cameron was becoming very aggressive with the big cat rescue staff being very protective of Zabu, so they neutered him. He did lose his mane, but it will eventually grow back. Still a handsome boy! The Liger they show is named Freckles, He passed away a couple years ago. RIP

There are so many irresistible things e just can't do to respect nature and keep ourselves safe, good thing you indeed be taking it off the list, for photos is 10times better to just take these with fake animals/ plants and add camera effects. who the hell cares if it's "fake"? it's just a photo.
I always find it so tempting to take pictures with animals on the street brought by some owners/breeders Even though it's for money, but I'll never do it. These animals aren't photography items, but living beings.
I don't particularly want a picture. I just want to hold one.

For the people who want to take pictures or hold cubs, that is cub petting, it is a very cruel to both the parents of the cubs and the cubs themselves. It is not illegal yet but the IFAW is working on making it illegal for people to own or/and breed big cats.

Okay, one note about this video:
Ligers don't exist in the wild because Lions and Tigers are separate species (albeit close to one another still), and neither associate with one another in the wild at all. The idea that they live on "separate continents" was once blatantly false, and is still false today: Lions used to inhabit Europe and much of Asia, but their range in Asia has been literally reduced to Gujarat in India, meaning India is the only nation today that has both wild and native Lions and Tigers.
India has always been great.

“Don’t support places that breed big cats” ... unless they’re part of a reputable breeding program for endangered species. There are plenty of (again, reputable) Zoos that keep their animals humanely and are an important part of keeping their numbers in captivity up while they’re declining in the wild due to poaching and habitat loss.

@@Mr.lions3.14 they were rescued in 2003 or 4. They lived in the sanctuary for 15 years, and well sadly you can go to Big Cat Rescue page, their sanctuary. And they announced a few months ago that Cameron ( the Lion) had passed away and Cabu followed him months later.

Cameron and Zabu have been freed from the roadside zoo for years already. Unfortunately though, Cameron has since lost his mane since they neutered him (he was getting very aggressive and territorial over Zabu so BCR decided to go through with the surgery so he wouldn't accidentally harm Zabu). Nonetheless, they look very happy together :)

I read the sad news below about both of the cats dying. Heartbroken but so grateful they were freed from that awful zoo and had time together in their beautiful sanctuary. 🌹😍👏
It wasn't a zoo, it was a roadside animal collection not to be confused with a zoo.
Zabu And Cameron are my favorite at Big Cat Rescue. They don't breed there. the liger (freckles) was sick I believe so they took freckles in and made freckles healthy. Freckles sadly passed

@@rulitoyjavier4372 unfortunatly Zabu was born with a cleft lip, a congenital defect caused by the inbreeding necessary to produce white tigers. Every single white tiger is decended from a single individual, and as such all of them are born with some form of congenital defect.

He was so populat that the zoo bred him to make more but the white gmutation is a recesive so his children had to be bvred together to get a second white cub. Since then only by breeding two closely related tigers together can you reliably produce a white tiger cub.

Cage? Uh. Have you ever been to or seen a sanctuary? It’s basically their habitat. The areas are huge. They’re just fenced in to be separated from other endangered animals. So not a cage. Cages are restricting.

@@usmale4915 I think the reason the lion King didn't work live is because all the emotional scenes didn't work when animals don't show that kind of nuanced expression. It works great for documentaries. Not so much for fictional dramas. It's weird like that.

Check out Cam and Zabu on Big Cat Rescue's channel. They've been there for several years. Cam no longer has his beautiful mane as it was necessary to neuter him. He and Zabu are living happily at the sanctuary near Tampa Bay.
RIP Cam and Zabu. They couldn’t stand to be apart for long, after a lifetime together. A classic case of true love leading sadly to broken heart syndrome. They are together now.
