The original Hammerburst was actually perfectly suited for such things. They are short, burst-fire weapons that are highly maneuverable in CQB. Okay, not PERFECTLY suited, but much moreso than Lancers as far as length goes.
Imagine watching the cog mess up the reloads on locust weapons to make it immersive since those are new weapons to them or even hear them panic that's how I would be if some monsters came at me and all I have is a weird enemy gun
So many things to wish for imagine seeing Marcus making weapons from random objects possibly having to be stealthy to not get caught but I hope we get more background action like seeing choppers flyby or hearing locust scream from far away even having earthquakes I just hope they make something similar
I've got a cool idea, why not give the Grenadier Ravager the Digger? I mean it makes since, because they could use it to destroy structures, use it for breaching and it could also make them a bigger threat than the standard Grenadier. Maybe give them a Sawed-Off Shotgun as a secondary, and more grenades than average.
I reckon the civilian population should be seen with weapons since the books and comics state and show that the cog population was armed, plus all the "ex-gears" would probably have their own stashes. Hell even civvies busting open the pendulum war caches like in Jacinto's remnant.
Because it wasn't created the time around E-Day. Hell, if I'm not mistaken, it shouldn't have been in Gears of War Judgment either considering the period of time it takes place in.
@@Subject-106 they put it in judgement for gameplay purposes but if I remember correctly the lancer was thought of 7 weeks after e-day when tai cut a locust with a saw or some other similar tool and the devs said it would be shown in gears e-day so I would say it fits
There is alot of potential to see new weapons in the game though we'll have to wait and see. It would be interesting to see more locust variant weapons that were likely fazed out as the war went on
Please, please for the love god give us weapon customisations like in Gears Tactics 🤞🏼 Instead of making the Retro Lancer GL a seperate weapon, just let us replace the bayonet with a grenade launcher, let us equip extended mags, sights and barrels. Also it would be cool to see some sort of COG SMG, I imagine they weren’t very effective and were probably discontinued.
Damn right! Especially Lancers, Hammerbursts, Longshots, Breechshots, etc. it'd be a cool option if you could customize your Boltok and Snub Pistols or your Gorgon SMG, too.
i don't think the chainsaw lancer will appear in e-day or even later on in the game's campaign. the game will probably take place on e-day and e-day only so some iconic weapons won't exist in the game except for it's multiplayer. Or maybe it will appear if e-day's campaign is not only on e-day but from e-day up until later in the timeline until before gears 1.

a weapon attachement system kinda like Gears tactics would be really cool ! That would make the different Lancer variant much easier to implement and probably make Horde mode much more diverse.
I'd love to see use of a pump shotgun. People could have had them in their homes for defense/hunting/whatever. With a longer barrel, it could have a smaller spread and longer range, but balanced with reduced damage. Or scratch all that and just put the pump on and make it an early gnasher. Lol
I'm not sure if we'll see the Gorgon pistol. The Kantus used those and Marcus never encountered them until Gears 2. Unless we briefly play an act as another team that encounters them
Same the COG have a semi-auto pistol the UIR would probably have a Revolver similar to the Locust but since they use a lightning bolt on their insignia and flag so it could fire Tesla ammo and they could go full circle adding a Winchester Repeater type weapon Tesla weapons in general would be neat to see
Honestly I’d love to see new Locust Weapons, specially heavy based weapons for sure. Maybe give them a new Porto hammerburst before the Gears of War 1 kind, maybe something a bit more crude. We also need a new shotgun too
It would be cool if they actually implemented drivable vehicles, a sandbox like Halo. Having tanks, amv and such. I mean, let us drive a King Raven ffs? Give us more freedom of choice. Yeah i know, we had these things in gears 1,2 and 3, but it was limited.
I wouldn't be against this idea but I also wouldn't be going out of my way to advocate it. Gears has always been boots on the ground infantry combat with very limited vehicle combat. I think I prefer it to stay that way for the most part. Maybe larger battles with larger squads or something would make it better
I'd honestly hate to see more driving besides small parts like gow 4 bike chapters. They did a poor job with gow 5s glider. The second player did nothing but set way points.
Be cool to see the gorgon pistol/hammerburst combo from the comics as a closer range, fully automatic, variant of the hammerburst, or even as a prototype version of the gorgon pistol
I'm going to put it out there, but i hope if the Boomshield returns, you can use the Lancer (or any other main weapon) while you use it, like you could in "Judgement."
I also hope that if we get the Grenade Launcher Lancer, i hope the Grenade Launcher fires straight, but still cascades into multiple explosions, and hopefully has more reach.

The master boomer and the siege beasts seem like things that wouldn't make sense in e-day as the master boomer is supposed to be a byproduct of the flooding of jacinto and moving to the Deadlands and the siegebeast seems to be a new appearance since even Baird is horrified that the Locust mangled the creature that is apart of the siegebeast
I told my friend Tim a double barrel Winchester Repeater would come full circle in terms of Western style weapons like the Gnasher Shotgun and Boltok Pistol a double barrel Winchester Repeater would make some sense though I don't know what it'd shoot. Or maybe more UIR weapons I saw an Electro-Lancer on DeviantArt with a Lightning Bolt on it that'd be an interesting addition or a COG/UIR equivalent to the Boltok Pistol too
Even if the Hammerburst is the Mark 1 variant, I still fully expect it to not be identical to the Gears 1 version. The Hammerburst is damn near a different weapon in every game it's in. I do hope the Breechshot is in the game, it just felt good to use.
Cheers fella!! Asking The Coalition to be creative is.....dangerous (and some would say naive). For the MP at least, I hope they go back to slower, weighter movement - a tactical approach to using the cover. Gears 5 is essentially Gears Fortnite. Keep the MP weapons simple, this way it's easier to balance & tune.
You made a lot of good points in your video ABZ. I hope some of the TC devs are up lurking around on TH-cam and taking note of the ideas in your videos. Also, for multiplayer, all the weapons you mentioned that were included in the previous gears games should be included in gears E-day without question. TC must put a 100 % effort in giving us the ideal gears games that we’ve wanted for years, we don’t want this to be another gears judgement or gears 5.

I think it’s important for them to know and understand where they went wrong with gears 4 and 5 so that they don’t repeat the same mistake with eday and let the fans down again.
Seeing as it was Fenixs first time seeing a Theron (the game also alludes to only Baird and Cole encountering a torque bow before that point) in Tip of The Iceberg in gears one seeing the torque bow and Theron are both heavily unlikely imo
Only problem with Rocket Launchers is their speed is slow when traveling which is why Gears only kept the Boomshot Grenade Launcher and even that is slow as hell compared to our real life GL's
I would assume anything pendulum era is going to be included the chainsaw lancer(thanks tai) and most UIR weaponry maybe possibly the H.O.D and likely early emergence locust weaponry
I've got a compromise for the exclusion of the Butcher and the the theoretical inclusion of the Theron, the Cleaver Theron could make a introduction as shock troops for the Theron Guard or a different subclass of Boomer with the Cleaver and Boomshield.
Hopefully this game just isn’t about the journey of Marcus and Dom. This is a huge chance to bridge gaps and showcase different storylines and generals of each respective army. Maybe even DLC where you play as Myrrah as a child escaping the lab and starting the locust horde

Here me out, in Gears 1, before Delta deploys the resonator at the imulsion pump station in the caverns, that this part when Dom & Marcus meet the Theron Guards for the first time. If memory serves Dom & Marcus discuss the 'wind' making sounds that well sound like the word 'hostiles'. Then bam, Mr. Torque bower himself appears and Marcus says "Ah shit, looks like they upgraded". Then Baird replies "They're Theron Guards. However if can be used in Multiplayer if we really what to keep the lore and story inline.
I wouldn't mind seeing gow 5 weapon but reskin for e day exemple the claw could be reskin to look like the uir lmg , mk3 lancer grenade launcher but with the mk1 lancer like you say. The digger they could create a mk1 version with different designs and explosives.
I just hope they make the guns feel heavier. I’m playing through all the games, and they all just feel too light in 4 and 5. As you all know, the lancer shoots marshmallows in 5, and the retro just doesn’t have the same heft that it did in 3. As Raam said, “Sear flesh. Rend bone.”
This has nothing to do with the firearms but at the same time I would like to see if there will be any story on captain Michaelson since he was in the novels a bit then they quickly killed him off in gears 3
Some weapons are hard to add this early in gears story but they should be added in multiplayer. That being said please coalition bring back the digger.
The only "problem" I could see with the UIR weapons is the lore reason as to why they would even be there. I imagine the COG wasn't just stockpiling their enemies' weapons all around after they won the war. I suppose an explanation could be you find UIR weapons as Locust trophies? I suppose if the game takes place near a border area it would be a good excuse to include them. And yeah, seeing some COG police with their own gear would be awesome. I always want to see new and old COG armor so a police setup would be an awesome excuse for an armor set that is a bit lighter armored and abnormal compared to the average COG Gears' armor. The primary reason I even liked Gears tactics is because I got to goof around with armor. Seeing different branches of the COG military would also be cool. Seeing what Raven pilots wear would be epic. And I don't remember if it's canon or not, I don't remember where I saw it, but seeing COG marines in their silver armor would also be crazy cool.
my guess is that the game will take place over a year and a half. can’t have a gears game without the mk2, lets not act like judgement would’ve been better without it. if it took place in that time frame, not only would we get to see the creation and idea of the mk2. but we might see cities falling and the hammer strikes being used. i have a feeling anya will play a huge role in this game (edit: i guarantee you we will be in halvo bay apart of omega 2 and we’re going to get a baird and cole cameo.)
3:51 shotguns make sense could even be a civilian one since a lot of people are being taken by surprise

Maybe we play as locust? And see their side of the story fighting the lambent?...how about that for a thought?
I just hope they make the guns feel heavier. I’m playing through all the games, and they all just feel too light in 4 and 5. As you all know, the lancer shoots marshmallows in 5, and the retro just doesn’t have the same heft that it did in 3.

I think the MK1 Hammer will be there since the MK2 wasnt there till Gears 2 and that was 14-15 years after Eday

This has nothing to do with the firearms but at the same time I would like to see if there will be any story on captain Michaelson since he was in the novels a bit then they quickly killed him off in gears 3
Some weapons are hard to add this early in gears story but they should be added in multiplayer. That being said please coalition bring back the digger.

I still think they are to make some Gears of War games based on the pendulum Wars.
The only "problem" I could see with the UIR weapons is the lore reason as to why they would even be there. I imagine the COG wasn't just stockpiling their enemies' weapons all around after they won the war.
I suppose an explanation could be you find UIR weapons as Locust trophies? I suppose if the game takes place near a border area it would be a good excuse to include them.
And yeah, seeing some COG police with their own gear would be awesome. I always want to see new and old COG armor so a police setup would be an awesome excuse for an armor set that is a bit lighter armored and abnormal compared to the average COG Gears' armor. The primary reason I even liked Gears tactics is because I got to goof around with armor.
Seeing different branches of the COG military would also be cool. Seeing what Raven pilots wear would be epic. And I don't remember if it's canon or not, I don't remember where I saw it, but seeing COG marines in their silver armor would also be crazy cool.
I would like to see a new Mortar weapon that fires out multiple Digger projectiles

my guess is that the game will take place over a year and a half. can’t have a gears game without the mk2, lets not act like judgement would’ve been better without it. if it took place in that time frame, not only would we get to see the creation and idea of the mk2. but we might see cities falling and the hammer strikes being used. i have a feeling anya will play a huge role in this game
(edit: i guarantee you we will be in halvo bay apart of omega 2 and we’re going to get a baird and cole cameo.)
The chainsaw lancer should not be in the campaign in any capacity. It doesn't exist yet.
