I really like the fact that you speak your mind in your reviews. Also, your drives are coming from a buyer's perspective and not necessarily an auto journalist's who sometimes just gloss over stuff . Only wish I could see your vids more frequently.
I just purchased a new 2018 Gmc Canyon SLE 2 wheel drive in this same dark slate metallic. It has the 3.6L V6 motor and its reasonably quick, dual zone climate controls, cloth seats and I have no problem with an old fashioned key. Keyless entry is over blown by most people ( Its a truck people get over it). I get around 19-212 mpg. I added a soft bed cover to the back and the ride is truckish, the seats are comfortable and I use it mostly for commuting. The color takes on a blue hue under bright sunlight and I have black running boards. Good review and thank you. I paid under 30K for my truck.
Picked up a 2018 Denali gas. I went with a two year lease and got a very good deal on it. I am someone who has had three full size trucks (Sierra, Silverado and Ram). I think it rides very well and have zero complaints about the ride. I think it handles well and of course very easy to get around in and park. I know many people have commented on no push button start. I can say that the key start doesn't bother me one bit. I traded in a 2014 BMW X5 and that had a push button start of course. It had a very heavy key fob and I actually like the lighter/cheaper GMC fob. The single zone air/heat is fine with me. I have always kept them the same. I will say that I looked at a Ridgeline and that had three zones. It had a separate zone for the rear which was pretty cool. I think the interior overall is pretty good. The seats are comfortable and easy to find a good position. It is certainly not as fancy as my Ram Laramie I had and I am okay with that. I would agree that I wouldn't want to pay $44k for it. However, all truck prices are going up and up and that is simply reality. I think my only disappointment so far is the Bose system. I have had Bose before and this one really is not that great. It will work and I won't modify anything since I am leasing but they could do better. I also looked at a couple of Ridgelines prior to this. I drove one at the dealer that had a two inch lift/leveling kit with 20" tires installed. It looked much better than stock and felt like a truck. The price was crazy insane though. The Ridgeline interior is tops as far as luxury. Everything is top notch. The Ridgeline has more room inside as it is 2" wider. The Ridgeline drives very nice but you don't necessarily feel like you are driving a truck and there are pros and cons to that of course. It is hard to get past the looks (depending on the angle) for the Ridgeline. I think the GMC Denali is a fantastic looking truck. I didn't go with the Ridgeline for a couple of reasons. One is the look of it of course. The other was price. I wanted a lease and I would have paid $121 more dollars a month with same out of pocket. That would have been a three year lease as well. I wanted a two year lease since I feel there will be many good options in two years.
I agree, the Denali name implies that it will have all the amenities available, however no push start, no HID or LED headlights, no LED taillights, no HD Radio, only 4-way power seats, no memory seats. All things I expected this truck to have. I did end up buying one, 2018 - 2WD, V6 that stickered for $39k. Feel I got it for a reasonable price, just under 33k. But expected a lot more as you mentioned, and would've paid a little more 33k for it had it been there.
Forrest is right about this Denali. I got to ride in it with him and you realize that it doesn’t quite live up to the Denali name. Nothing wrong with the Canyon as a truck but it would be nice to get more at this price. Good review, Forrest!
Thanks for the demo on the turning circle and headlights. Also, they have a $180 option to get that same steel colored covers as around the radio on the door panel and near the shifter.
Purchased 2019 GMC Canyon long bed crew cab SLT. It has wireless phone charger, 18" wheels, some wood dash (plastic), everything that Denali has except for the name badge. Oh, the big thing---the SLT is available with a 2 tone brown "coco dune" leather interior that is beautiful. According to specs, Denali is ONLY available with black interior. I spend my time inside the vehicle so the two tone interior is superior to a chrome Denali badge! Oh, and I paid less than $33K. I wish it had push button start and power rear window--maybe next year.
@@hunterschaferoutdoors0219 Can you tell me if the SLT has the same suspension as a Z71, I assume it is the same upgraded supsension over the base Colorado 4x4
My salesman was trying to convince me to get a Denali. But the only difference besides the badging over my SLT which was $6000 cheaper was the wireless phone charger. And it's too small to even fit my phone in it. Easy choice to say no to that.
I have the SLT and the only thing the Denali has that mine doesnt is the cooled seats and Denali appearance items like 20" wheels, grille and badging. I actually like my 18" wheels better.
I HAVE THE 2019 VERSION OF THIS TRUCK W/V6 IT RUNS VERY WELL AND HAS AMPLE POWER AND ACCELERATION! I AM DISAPPOINTED IN THE DENALI TRIM LEVEL DOESN'T HAVE HEATED SIDE MIRRORS OR A PROGRAMABLE GARAGE DOOR OPENER ! THE PLACEMENT OF THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH IS IN A BAD POSITION WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE I HIT IT WITH MY KNEE AND CHANGE THE SETTING WHICH IS IRRITATING! OVERALL I LIKE THE VEHICLE BUT DEFINITELY COULD USE SOME UPGRADES FOR THE DENALI TRIM LEVEL!!!
I personally liked the grain type of faux wood, I think it looks great. Diesel is the only way to buy this truck. Wireless charging pad should have been below stereo console where there is more room to accept larger phones. My P30 Pro does not fit the wifi charging pad, thats weak. I am looking at this or a Zr2 for the better suspension and also the off road capability and more aggressive look. The truck is worth the cash, one does not have to get it fully loaded. The bonus is the DIESEL, way more range and I would not buy a truck without a diesel, the ZR2 w Diesel ftw
How does a new Denali not have dual zone climate control? My 06 Envoy SLT had dual zone for crying out loud. It seems on the Canyon the Denali is just a badge option on the SLT
Stay away from 2.8 diesel the emissions give you grief in winter. Not built for Canadain winters. Stay away from 2.8. I have a 16 canyon and they made no upgrades to fix the problem on the emissions freezing up and heaters and sensors failure then goes in limp mode. Only dealer can fix or override the problem. ✌️🇨🇦
Ok nice truck, for n any size. But 50k! Is that right? Ok, I bought a 2019 Colorado Crew Cab 4x4, V6, but only in WT trim level. So no leather, but I did have a 2016 Z71 4x4 Ext Cab I traded in for because we needed a real four dr. So we have vinyl seats, unheated of course, but like all Z71’s I’ve seen the leather stitching came apart at drivers left hip seat bottom. Where you have leather arm rest, we have sold vinyl on the doors, with the same everything except no hideous fake wood grain. Plus plain vinyl lined floors. But I did find this truck with every option, available in a WT, except the diesel, that I have no interest in, for a couple or more good reasons, price , complicated exhaust system and lack of outright passing power, even though I tow a lot, with a 26’, 4,600-6,200 lbs travel trailer with ease. Yes I do only get an average of 10 mpg towing at the speed limits. But still 17-20 city depending upon how traffic is moving and 22-28 highway speeds depends again on how it’s moving. Yes towing with the diesel would be more at ease, but at any speed the gas will walk away from the diesel. Overall the best part? I get basically the truck, for 43k! With an 84 month 100,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty.
Not worth it. This is quality truck. U get what u pay for. If u want more it's going to cost u. I own this exact truck after everything said and done I paid toward 45k

I just purchased the V6 edition of this vehicle and I really like this truck.

I just got a 2018 Canyon Denali V6 for $36k....!!!
Thanks for taking the time making this video and your honesty! I would buy it, but I'd talk that price down
I own a 2018 Canyon Denali,......... Great truck,..... not for everyone, but I wouldn’t own a viera so to each their own......👀😎✌️🇨🇦

Lol, I bet you like the green apples and not them red ones too.
OR....
Just get the SLT that has everything the Denali has except that wireless phone charger pad & 18" instead of 20" rims for only $33k.
Daniel Navarro right I’ve got the slt, only difference is the cooled seats and steering wheel warmer
@@hunterschaferoutdoors0219 Can you tell me if the SLT has the same suspension as a Z71, I assume it is the same upgraded supsension over the base Colorado 4x4
The Cisco Kidd I am not sure if it does or not, it has all the same features it seems

Loved the vid! I really like the Denali’s, but they’re so damn expensive!! Might as well go up to a Sierra!
You didn't mention if the Denali trim comes with LED bed lights.
Not sure where you get 1/4 ton from. Roughly 1500 lb payload capacity = 3/4 ton.
$48,000 isn’t basically $50,000.
Great review! Well done.
Isn’t Denali just a shiny feature and leather package?

Your post is BS; No issues with 2.8L Duramax in any weather.
Well done video. Gave the thumbs up. Just got mine for 42k out the door but got gas not diesel.

1/4 ton??????? Last I checked it’s rated a 1500lbs hmmmm.
Forrest how much can I get the lowest net price for any trim of Canyon for crew cabin or double cabin
this costs almost 10k more than my full size truck. I'll never understand the market for these smalls trucks....
Can you review the raptor?
Forrest's Auto Reviews damn that sucks man.
LOL at the 4x4 hill! otherwise that was a great review.
I own this truck but in a Sierra Denali lol!
Great for you. Nobody cares.
