This message is for all the videographer bros out there , I have so much respect for y’all because if you’re a videographer I can tell you for sure you are a creative person and as a beginner filmmaker it’s really hard to come up with good ideas but I’m enjoying the process of learning from a lot of filmmakers all around the globe , my English is not that great but I hope you understood what I wanted to express
Thanks for your kind words. I agree with anything in life that you want to become good at you have to enjoy the process and journey of learning. Learning and practice is the best way to improve your film making. Thanks for supporting the channel
I’m currently in the process of learning how to use light, and I’m learning a lot! Definitely an important step which completely transforms an image. It’s a beautiful journey unlucky each skill which can go into it all
Couldn't have clicked that subscribe button fast enough! Such a great, honest and authentic video that most videographers EVEN photographers need to hear. You're doing amazing Nana, I cannot wait to see what else you have coming!
Great content, and very honest and transparent! Love the content :) Videos on lighting as previous commentors have suggested with budget lights would be a good one to see. Thank you!
This is such powerful video, presented so well, I needed this. I'm a London filmmaker myself who has aquired more gear than experience. I'm desperate to get out there and create but struggle with coming up with opportunities. I'm not happy with my portfolio at the moment. I've built a good sized football channel that I make content for but the content has to be made quick so I don't getting to flex my filmmaking muscles. Keep up the videos, I like your approah. Subscribed.
Glad you found the video helpful. I would say if you can maybe try using your film skills on your football channel. I’m a big football fan as well and I watch so much football content on TH-cam. You’re right is tricky though to flex your skills as with football content it has to be put out there quite quickly. I would say maybe try to create one piece a month which you use your filmmaking skills more that way it will give you the opportunity to practice more
10000000% agree with the gear won't improve your skills. I have a canon EOS Rebel T6 as my photography camera and for a while, I stopped taking photos. I thought they weren't good because of my gear. I came back to it, learned the camera inside and out, and mastered using manual. Now, it actually produces great images and I feel comfortable charging people so I can save up for nicer gear, which I will actually know how to use and get the best images lol.
I mainly use False Colour and this method would work great with a grey card I have done it in the past, if you haven't already seen it I did a video on False Colour, you could maybe get some tips from that video that you can use with a grey card for exposure th-cam.com/video/n64zDpo8Nd4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vXk64gUCwvXVbYbw
Thanks for watching, what you saw in the video was a preproduction document I created in Canva. I have recently started using Milanote. I find it much more intuitive and has a lot more features. However I think it's more about what goes into your pre production, in the past I have even just used Apple notes
Great video mate! Where are you located? If you’re around LA hit me up. I’m realizing in 2024 it will be good to surround myself and collaborate with likeminded people. And to practice with others, as you mentioned.
Where about in the UK are you. I've been videoing for years but feel like I'd like to collaborate on a learning project just for the learning experience.
The Smallrig 120B is more than enough if you're just starting out I thinks its a good option. My first light was only a 60W daylight balanced light, its the light I still use now even on paid jobs
Hi I know I already have an answer for this but I just want to know what you think> Is it true that if you are just starting out and have no real equipment, just grabbing your phone and letting yourself grow matters more than spending sooo much time for the quality? when in turn quantity will teach you about that?
Yes in my opinion I agree 100% if you just have a phone start with your phone, because all though image a phone may produce in some cases may not look as good as some camera's. Having a professional camera wont help you in understanding things such how to have good composition, good lighting and good story telling. These are things I am still learning each day. So I would defiantly start with your phone and start learning the basics and fundamentals and then upgrade later when you can

I have a question about light power to begin with, this a small rig 120b is correct?
The Smallrig 120B is more than enough if you're just starting out I thinks its a good option. My first light was only a 60W daylight balanced light, its the light I still use now even on paid jobs
