Imo don't worry about the situation. None of my watches make sense for me day to day. I wear what I like. 99% of the time I'm the only one that cares about my watch anyway. If it makes me happy when I look at my wrist that's all that matters to me. If people can wear apple watches with a suit. I can wear a dress watch in a factory.
I wouldn’t be fazed at all with that crown Rob. It is an automatic after all. Beautiful design & well priced up against the Cartier Tank & the like. A “cheaper” way to get the Artdeco feel. Longines has a great catalogue!😎👍🏼
I recently purchased this watch. I resolved the difficult to wind crown by wearing a latex glove. Very easy to wind and I use it with most of my automatic watches that have smaller crowns. Good review Rob, thanks. PS, I love this little watch and it's unique looking crown 👑.
Longines Big Eye for the win which is a beautiful watch. But this more old school rectangular watch is cool for a man who has many watches. :-) My dad wore a Longines Admiral which I own today as a keepsake. Longines has a soft spot in my heart. My dad had great aesthetic taste.
Closely related/based upon the Longines Evidenza which was the watch Bogie wore in Casablanca. That said Longines imho is the best Swiss manufacturer when you factor in history, prestige and value.
Small wristed collectors should take a look at early and mid century American made rectangular and square watches. Hamilton, Bulova and other brands can be had (serviced) for a few hundred bucks. History and authenticity truly comes through wearing these under appreciated beauties. I’ve picked up ‘28, ‘37, and ‘55 Hamiltons - the best a man could wear ‘in the day’. I picked up a 1946 Bulova President (had been a presentation piece for a retiring Long Island Fire Chief) which has the exact dimensions and feel of the Reverso👌 Lots to discover in our hobby/obsession!
Well look at that, another watch I need to have. This smaller version is the way to go on my 7 inch wrist. The 47mm long is doable but I feel dress style watches look much more classy in smaller sizes.
I reject the idea that a dress watch can only be worn in dress situations. I wear what I want wherever and whenever I want. And that means that I wear my Longines Dolce Vita with jeans and a polo shirt all the time. Does that bother someone? Do I care?
I was interested to see how this fit you, because I have the same sized wrist. The Cartier Tank is probably my ideal watch, but like you, I have no need for a dress watch (and I already have quite a few besides). So, I was looking at getting one of these instead. I was leaning towards the larger one, but honestly seeing that on your wrist, I think it's perfect! It didn't really look too small like older Cartiers' tend to.
I have the DolceVita with the sector dial in this size and I love it. Yes, it's a dress watch, but goes equally well with a long sleeve casual shirt. But, like you, my only gripe is the crown. I find it somewhat hard to set with that small "slippery" crown. All in all, though, I love mine.
I have the same sector version, a very classy but understated piece indeed. The crown does make it more difficult to wind but I find it fits so well with the aesthetic of the art deco style watch case, the knurl would not work quite so well. Form over function but it looks so good I can forgive it.
The ladies ones are quartz, I picked up the smallest one for my gf and she adores it. I kind of wish this one was quartz as well because of the crown issue
@@frankdux5693 Facts are something like a Rolex Submariner can be used anywhere and nobody should call it ridiculous. Where what you like when you like.
@@MrBacchus18 It can't. Just like how you wouldn't wear Nike air Max 95's with a 3 piece suit to a job interview. I guess a lot of people in the world have zero style or a clue.
Longines really are one of the best value for money brands in the market. Excellent watches.

Agree.

I think this one looks better than the Cartier tank😊

Beautiful watch reasonably priced. Winner

Looks great on your wrist, Rob.
Gorgeous watch.
This watch was difficult to find in my area. So I ended up getting a vintage tank-style watch. But I do like this Longines.
Which area is that..Mars??
Try their website
I love my L5.656.4. Quartz.

Best rectangular watch after reverso in my opinion.

I feel ya. I want a rectangular watch as my daily driver. And I’m a welder. Just like what I like
Same i to ma welder and really want one of this watches, I feel it has that finess and small enough to not get in the way of the wrist.
I think this looks good as like Cartier Tank actually.. and looks great on man and woman wrist tbh
I agree with that, it can be worn by all.
@RandomRobReviews Hi..Do You know about "Sobrinos Prominente"??
Totally underrated brand / dresswatch
I like the options from this brand the Zulu times have really caught my eye

I just bought one, I'm going to style it with a velour track suit and a cuban bracelet.

How about scratches? Since it’s all polished
@@salvadorochoa2098 So far no scratches. But, time will tell!
Very beautiful watch! All my watches are rectangular. I don't like round watches at all.
for this price I would have bought the Dolce vita also.
I have a Longines Conquest blue dial in 39mm on order. This will be my first experience with the brand.
Probably my next watch also.
How has it been treating you?
Needs a no date version
Beautiful watch. I think it might fit my 6.25" wrist. Does Longines have different size straps?
Very nice but I’d be pushing myself to wear a rectangle case
I feel like the sunburst dial makes it look cheap ironically
PRETTY WACHT !!!! .. 👍
I thought this was quartz !!!
The ladies ones are quartz, I picked up the smallest one for my gf and she adores it. I kind of wish this one was quartz as well because of the crown issue
Thanks for this one, I was considering the decor variant but that crown is a no go.
I want one but it’s so expensive 😭
Keep eye out for used
How to order this to pakistan
Not sure where you can order from sorry
I like it, but like you i really have no use for it.
you could use it for telling the time
🌹👌
to me its a ladies watch...my wife loves it...
Your wife must have a large wrist.
It's a Ladys..there is No Small mens size.
Yep why wear this when you can just take the no date subby everywhere. Just get a rubber gripper for using the crown I guess.
The sub isn't a dress watch
@@frankdux5693 Who knows better, you or James Bond?
@@MrBacchus18 Me. Sports watches used as dress watches look ridiculous.

I hate to say it, but it wears too large for your wrist. Thanks for the video. That thing is huge, go for an Oris Rectangle instead.
Its Automatic, stupid😉.
