    Looking good Richard, getting the workshop started is going to be fun. A place for everything and everything on it and in it. We will be riding along every step of the way, stay safe and keep having fun too. Fred.

    Bud you sure know what you're doing. I use to live in the Appalachians and wish I never left. It's always great to know you can build these shops and feel good. Especially knowing you've built it to last for a long time. You make me homesick. Great job my friend.Steve

    Won't take to many holes in that ground to wear you and that set of post hole diggers. If you get tired try getting a pinch bar, 6 feet long, 1.5 inch diameter, with a point on one end and wedge on the other. I use one down here in Florida when I hit limerock its a big help. God Bless, Danny

    That five gallon lid works really good for spotting your holes

    The Workshop is moving along, Great to see it. I wonder if with the increase in winds, that you would go a bit deeper with the posts to make it more secure!

    I might have bent over a couple of those tabs on that lid you used to mark your post holes. That way, I could just spin it to mark the circle.😊

    That's a hard way to dig the holes. I found that using a digging bar (both a flat chiseled one and pointed one depending on the hardness of the ground) to loosen the soil and a shovel to dig out the loose stuff to work better than a post hole digger. If the ground is really hard and dry, get the holes started by digging down each to about a foot and then fill with water. Let them go for a day and hopefully the water will have softened the ground up a bit.

    For the extra mixing of the concrete properly keep unforeseen problems in the future. I don't know why people are setting concrete like that but it seems to be a trend! I asked my neighbour who was a mixer for concrete if this way was acceptable and said he never herd of it.

      I’ve done it for years and never really seem to have had any problem. Believe it or not that’s actually the directions on the bag. But the way I mix it is a little of this a little of that Stuart little this little that so it’s primarily the same thing

    Again, I see you do it but you didn't explain how you got there. THIS drives me crazy, but I love the results.

    Richard why not use a Auger on the back of your tractor?

    How can you possibly get a good pier mixing the concrete like that?🤔

    • @SmokyMountainOutpost
      @SmokyMountainOutpost  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has worked on all nine of our buildings and that’s the directions on the bag. I’ve done it many times like that before.
