Can't think of a better thing to do besides fishing right now. Yesterday bought a few fat blue runners and hoping to take them trolling off the Bali coast this week. Even thinking of moving the family out of Denpasar city to a small fishing village now that school is online. At 60 yo and autoimmune disorder I'm better off on the water out in the sunshine soaking up free vitamin D.
Yup....same as millions of other people. The boat ramps are slammed, and bait shops are taking in the dough right now lol.

Been bass fishing every afternoon ever since I was laid off. Been wanting to go to Cape Canaveral seashore to fish for snapper, snook and reds but the park where good spots are at is closed. But, been having fun catching bass.

Actually as a 40 year Keys experienced fisherman I have started to prefer the Key West Grunts instead of Snapper . They have a unique taste , a little stronger than Snapper and Grouper and absolutely delicious . Steve you need to make a catch and cook video on those Red Mouthed Grunts some time .

I never get too picky about the grunt either. Yummy too!
In biscayne bay it's full of grunts, crabs and other goodies. Plus tons of mangos and banana trees, lime trees along the shore. South Florida is a natural grocery store. Always keep some cat food cans or old dried bread to sprinkle the flats and you get good food in seconds.

That is a Flame Box Crab. The aquarium world calls them shame Face Crabs cause their claws are hiding their face. I've only seen them in deeper water. Love your videos!

In these covid times- sometimes I steal a can of cat food or a can of sardines from dollar store and use as chum - being careful not to liter the can I poke holes in can and tie a string. Thanks for the video

Not a bad species to be stuck with awesome fighting and great tasting.
Been a fan for years and always enjoy your videos. If you want an untypical bait that is the best I ever tried for catching small bait fish (bream family like pinfish etc), try cleaned and salted chicken intestines. A small piece stays on the hook forever because its so rubbery (natural Gulp?) and the fish go absolutely insane for it. Just a warning if you're cleaning it yourself wear an organic vapor respirator since the smell is HORRENDOUS. Only for the brave

I've got fish in the freezer and haven't seen a roll of toilet paper in ten years. The secret is a kitchen jet spray hooked up to the toilet water intake. Works like a charm and beats having your wife show up on a viral video fighting over a roll of toilet paper.

Catch the shark and you will have food for a couple of weeks.
What type of hooks do you use so that the mangrove snapper do not swallow the hooks?
Circle hooks, gets them right in the corner of the mouth every time. Takes a little getting used to because you can't set the hook hard. Just reel until you come tight. Best tool for conservation.
