I would just like to say thank you for uploading your videos to youtube and making them public. I am just about to complete my final 2 videos and it has been so nice being able to watch someone else who has completed theirs. I'm enrolled in the pharm tech professional and should be beginning my externship shortly and am looking forward to it. I live in Texas so I have already gotten my pharm tech trainee license. Penn foster is an ok online school. I'm almost finished with the private investigations career diploma program and overall it's fine. It's affordable, self paced and accredited by deac which is recognized by the department of education. I have graduated from U.S. Career Institute with a certificate in 2022, am currently enrolled in Washington Technical Institute and have many certifications in the security field. Im also getting my undergraduate in business management from Ashworth College soon. I recommend Penn foster to everyone. The only complaints I have is that short instructional videos would be nice and one section of the course had almost nothing to do with private investigations, which I complained to the school about. Overall I've had good experiences with multiple online schools, including Penn Foster. I'm now looking to enroll in Columbia Southern University. If your interested in good online schools to attend, I also recommend California Coast University, university of the people and so on. Congratulations by the way!
I did the vet assistant course through Penn foster. I love it. I’ll be doing pharmacy tech, wildlife and forestry, paralegal, as well as a business degree and their associate degree vet tech program also. I love it.

@@alourdebullet8754 no I haven't take it. In my state is not required to take it to get my license I already have it for Florida so im not going to take it yet.
The only skill I have left is 15 and 16 then after that I'm done .I'm going to call them to see if I can get the certificate with out doing the internship.

I graduated for the administrative assistant program . I tried doing the same thing at my local school and couldn’t learn or pass too much interruption and with penn foster it was myself learning and i did better . Graduated with 80 average also passed Microsoft office . My diploma should be here today ( been waiting 3 weeks )

Thank you for letting me know about dropping to the certification pharmacy technician and that it's practically the same. I am working in a compound pharmacy and they want me to do my externship elsewhere ontop of working 40 hours and having 3 young kids (7,5,3 years old). I paid in full for my classes. I called and asked if there were books they could ship instead of me reading online and they said I would have to look on amazon and buy the books.
Your welcome! Yes the extership is a lot and if your working full time is going to take you for ever to completed, if you paid in full already even better for you, you just have to tranfer all you classes over to the other program and you be done in no time. Also if you are working already on the pharmacy you dont have to do the videos just fill up the paper for your pharmacy watching you do all the skills and that saves time too because it took me 3 months to completed the video because they take 5 bussiness day for each video to grade them. The books is not fair that they dont want to give them printed to you I had them mail to me with no problem thats weird. Keep going your doing awesome job with 3 kids is not easy but I know you can do it ☺️
@@soniamartinez5094 As for the books, I asked one of the admission specialists at Penn Foster what I should do if I want to study with printed textbooks. She said it is possible and it has something to do with the student portal but you have to pay extra for the books.
@@bulepape1215 would I think thats new now because when I signed for the program they ask me if I want the books send to my house or digital, I choose physical books since I like highlighting the books, if I were you I keep calling until you get someone who changed it for you at no cost because for me it never change the price.

I am in Texas. So I have license as a trainee but I need that program to pass PTCB exam. Does those class really help a lot to pass??Like 200 drugs I have to remember they have class like that. Or after finish my program I have to learn my own.my license will expire 2024.
@@lifatnasreen33 yes, pharmacology teach you the drugs together with anatomy and physiology and all the interactions for each drug, also at the end of the program the last class is just about the PTCB the book is a review and the final is 90 questions like the PTCB.
I have a question,between a pharmacy technician professional and just a pharmacy technician who makes more money?
So are the certificates legitimate in all states? Like if I had one of the medical certs in Florida, a job wouldn't laugh me out of the building?
I have my license in Florida. For me to be certified in all states I have to take the PTCB exam, I didn't took it because Florida don't require it. A job would ask you for your license no where did you study to get your license. Verify the requirements of your state to become a pharmacy and that way you won't have a problem getting a job.

Hello Sean, your welcome for the videos. No, once you change program after your final test you done with the program, however they are extership programs you can do in hospitals to gain experience in the field.

The other online schools I was looking at for Phar tech don't offer the lab practicals & I feel that's important for new students who don't have much experience in the Pharm field, right? I thought this video was about working has a Pharmacy technican. I'm trying to finish my online classes but I wanna know if I would be able to find a job after it ,that's where the mystery is .because is alot of money that we have to pay .
Right now Pharmacy Technician are in high demands I get application to work every day in my email. I personally recommend it the program to a person and before she even finish the program she was working at Walgreens, don't lose hope just start applying now and you will find your dream job and every hard work you put into studying will pay off. Hello Jas B.! Your very welcome Im glad my videos were helpful for you! Yes you still have time to change thats when I made the change after completing everything. No I didnt take the PTCB because in my State Florida is no required for me to get my license. But take it Penn Foster will pay for it and you have advantage when Certified for example you can take the certification to administer vaccines.

Hello Sonia, So I am looking on the Penn foster website, and I'm only seeing pharmacy tech professionals. Now, in the state I'm loving I don't need a license to work as a pharm tech, but still want to go through with the program, because of wanting to work in a hospital setting, and having a background and experience would look good on my resume. Any, thoughts on what plan I should go with? Pharm tech or professional. Which one is more beneficial?

Hi Sonia , as you mentioned Penn Foster have 2 program . One is Pharmacy Technician Professional with externship 160 hours & other one is Pharmacy Technician without any externship hours.

Thank you! Aww we are super womans because we do this for our kids ❤️. For me the hard ones were labs number 8 and number 10. But for the classes no they were not hard, what I didnt like was the too much reading I wish the included more videos and activities instead of some much reading, but other than that it was easy, look for videos on youtube for math and for the material of they classes for me I learn more watching a video than reading.

Hello! Thank You so much!! Yes they have the pharmacy technician, the one with the externshio is called pharmacy technician professional, I started on that program but due to covid decided to change programs and graduate because the regular pharmacy technician dont required externship. Call them and switch programs is free and if the only thing you have left in your program is your extrenship you will graduated once they tranfers all your classes to the pharmacy technician. Hope that helps.

You will apply for your state license. Make sure you check the requirements for your state to be able to apply for your license. The program is accredited to apply for a state license and be able to work.

No its no! Just do the program with out the externship and apply for your pharmacy technician license is $105 and with that you can start working, here in Florida is not required to take the PTCB exam either Im going to take because Penn Foster pay for it and that make you certfied in all 50 states.

Ok if you done with the program you have to contact the school so they can provide you the email to request your diploma and transcripts, if you pay in full they should be not problem for them to send it to your address if you haven't pay in total they will send you a letter of completion, with that letter or transcripts if how you apply for your state license, if your state don't require for you to take your PTCB, if required you to take the PTCB well with the transcripts or letter you take it and then apply for the state license. Hi, I wanted to know is they accredited in NYC I'm from NY. I don't want to pay for something that's going to give me a hard way to go once completed. I'm use to in person school but needed flexibility. Please help with my question
Hello. You will have to check with NY pharmacy technician requirements. That way you can see if they require an accreditated program to apply for your license this program is for you. The advantage of this program is that is at your own pace so if your are busy you can do the readings at your own time. When you make the notes your test will be with open book and notes. What book do i buy on Amazon so i can study early before i start
If I were you I don't buy books they will provide the book for each class. What you can do instead is watch TH-cam videos of pharmacy technician what they do, anatomy and physiology videos, pharmacy calculations and pharmacy laws that will help you succeed in the program.
hello, sonia! just wanted to know if when you started working it was hard since you didn’t take the course with the externship do you feel the one with the externship prepares you more?
Hello! The program is exactly the same with or without extership I think the externship will help you gain hands on experience but overall the program have a lesson that have labs that included real pharmacy practice and that helps to learn too.

Hello. No, you will summit them in order. You summit one at it time, wait for it to be graded and then summit the next one and so on.

Hello Sonia, I've been enrolled in Ashworth college and I'm having second thoughts and considering going to a Regionally accredited school. I think at times that a Degree from Ashworth is not viewed with the same seriousness as other universities. Ashworth is owed by the same people who owned Penn Foster. What are your thoughts on what I just wrote? I appreciate any comments you may have. Thank you

I think that decision of where you decide to get your degree will depend on your pharmacy technician state requirements, for example Im from Florida my state requires to be a graduate from an accredited program which Penn Foster and Ashworth are, because when you going to apply for a job they will ask me for my license no my diploma, so I dont think where you get your diploma from would matter, what is important here is that you get your license and mantain your license, another thing that will help you is if you get your PTCB exam you will be a Pharmacy Technician in all 50 states, again it dont matter where you graduate from. My advice for you is check your state requirements and if Ashworth have what you need to get your license in your state then you good to go. Good luck on your journey.

Hello! No I did not completed the externship because after I completed all my classes I switch programs to the pharmacy tech that dont have the externship because due to covid 19 I have my kids homeschooling.

He is cardiac patient, and because of that I am so concerned about leaving him around with someone because of the pandemic. Do you you think I can still switch to the pharma tech only like you? @@jojosamia4274 yes! I dont think it will be a problem, call them on monday and explain to them your situation and I know they will help you. They basically sign you up for the pharmacy technician and after you completed all your classes in the pharmacy technician professional they will tranfers the classes and you will be done and received your diploma and official transcrips, thats what I did and they took a week to do all of that but make sure you done with all your classes before you switch program so the dont charge you anything in the new program.

Hello Stacey! They supposed to send it to you. They send a lab kit box with all the materials you'll need and the book to follow the amounts for medication you are going to prepare.

Your welcome! I completed the program in 15 months, I took a break of 5 month during the program because one of my kids go sick and was hospitalized.
Also did you have to wear scrubs for your videos? Are regular clothes fine for the skills videos?
No, you dont have to wear scrubs, regular clothes is fine I choose scrubs because it looks more professional

Hello. Yes, Spanish is my main language. I speak, write, and read English. For this program you need to know English, because is a lot of reading but that would depend were you live. For example, I live in Florida so finding a job with little English is easy, but if you live in a State where your English must be well spoken is going to be hard. The program is not difficult if you read and take good notes, because those notes you can used for your test. Also, the program is at your own pace so if you need more time with some classes take it, and then with the classes that you found more easy do those classes at a fast pace. Yes and No, in the last class before the final they would send you a kit with material for you to complete some labs, you can see them on my channel, but when you upload them they have to be unlisted so no one see them just the school that you share the link, I decided to put mine public to help other's students because when I was doing mine they were no videos of the labs. When I say NO is because they also give you the option to go to a CVS or Walgreens and complete them in front of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician and they will grade you.
Sonia I have one concern more about the last test ( 90 questions). This test has option to retake it as the others final test in each module has? Thanks
Yes! you are allowed to retake it. I did retake it because I got 89% on my first try and I knew I can do better so I retook it.

15 months to completed. I took 5 months thats why it took me 15 months. I used to study 20 hours per week and in the weekend took my exams. It really depends on the class some classes have more informations than others so it depends on the class how much you have to study per week.

No the program is the same in the classes. The difference is that the pharmacy technician professional you have to completed an extership of 160 hours in a cvs or walgreens pharmacy while in the other program you just completed the program classes and you done.

Hi! In the program they give you lesson that teach you the programs that hospitals and retail pharmacy's use and you learn how to used them, also when you start working the work place always train you for couple weeks to teach you.

I enrolled yesterday and they don’t have physical books for me to study. Everything is online and electronically. Do you know when they are going to send me tools for practicing?
They will send you the books by mail if you choose that option, if not they would be ebooks. For the first couple classes you don't use book for example anatomy and physiology with pharmacology you don't need book. For the classes you need book they will send them when you take the test of the previous class. My advice for you is use TH-cam that's how I did it. Take notes from the readings and learn the flash cards they provide.
@@soniamartinez5094 I called them and talked to them about physical books. They said due to COVID, they stopped sending physical books. Everything is on ebooks or guideline. They said the only lesson that I might have a book is Mathematics. And you mentioned flash cards. Is it online or they mail it to you?
I’m on Introduction of Pharmacy Tech. I don’t know if this is a real course or just introducing this program but no ebooks for this. And a lot of practice questions in each section. To be honest this program is a lot of self teaching you have to read your self, take notes your self. Good morning! You have 18 months to completed the program, if you do the program full time you can completed in 9 months which is 40 weeks, for me it took me 15 months to completed, if you not done at the 18 months then yes you have to pay extra for an extension.

The videos has to be publish in TH-cam but in unlisted setting and give the teacher your links so no one would be able to watch it just the teacher, my videos are publics because I change the settings after getting my grade to help other students have an idea of what to do and say because when I completed my videos there were no videos on the labs and I want it to help. The other option is to go to a pharmacy either CVS or Walgreens and with your lab kit do all the labs in front of a pharmacy technician and he/she will grade you, the school has to approve that pharmacy technician before you complete that option.

Hello I am currently enrolled in pen foster pharmacy technician problem and I’m having an issue and I don’t know how to fix it, so I’m on the career readiness course and unit 2 so with the practice simulations I have watched and interacted with them multiple times but it won’t mark as complete and it’s saying I have to complete them to finish the unit. Do you have any idea on how I can get them to mark as completed?

No the test don't have timer and if you not done with the test you can hit the button "save for later" and you come back when you can to finish the test.

What exam?? The PTCB? No you must complete the whole program including the externship and then you can take the PTCB test. You need a accredited program to be able to take the PTCB.

Hello Linnette!! I don't think is hard to get a job a recently got an offer to work for CVS. I also got many other interviews even for pharmacy technician jobs working from home. I think is a good space to work now at and you can also apply for hospital which is better that retail pharmacy. In Florida they don't ask where is you certificate from, they just want you to have you State Pharmacy Technician License and they will hired you.

When I did the program, both program required videos, Im not sure how is now, the other option they give you is going to a pharmacy and perform the skills infront of a pharmacy technician but is only CVS or Walgreens, but tgey need to approve the pharmacy you choose. Im not sure how is now since I graduate two years ago and I heard a lor of things change since the pandemic. Like I always told you, you need to call the college.
