  • Hi friends, In this video I will be blogging my symptoms on the ADHD medication that was prescribed to me by my neurologist. I wanted to post a video like this because I searched all over the internet for a video that showed me a daily basis on straterra and I couldn't find a video that recorded someones daily perspective on this medication. If you have any questions feel free to comment , prescribe and like. (: Strattera = Atomoxetine

I'm getting Atomoxetine (strattera), personally I couldn't care less if I go emotionally flat, I have very demanding schedule so this will be a huge benefit if I could be more focused like you mentioned "1 hour of flashcards instead of 2 hours, maybe"
So far all I heard on my end in a nutshell, was this drug is about to help me focus and get schooling, work, weight training done like there is no tomorrow.
Huge thanks to Margarita Gaona for making the video.

Girl, thank you for opening up and sharing your journey with Strattera! As someone starting out on this medication as well, your honesty about the emotional numbness really resonates with me. Your insight and empathy shine through, and you seem to be a very bright and emotionally in tune person. I hope you find the right path to manage your ADHD. Wishing you all the best on your journey ahead!

a couple thoughts I have: 1st thank you. 2nd - you are a gentle soul in a world that is not that alone will cause stress. 3rd i know this is easy for me to say but i hope that you will grow to be less concerned about what others think about you and if they will notice a change. who cares -your doing what you can and they can support you or not but you have to try. im confident they will support you. i say just be honest and open with them as you are with us, let the chips fall where they may. ADD sucks big time, keep trying to find your solution whatever it takes.

First day on my meds and omg I feel all these things. For the first time in my life I finished all my tasks and sat down on the desk until they were all done, but I didn’t feel any reward after. It was really confusing, as this is all I have ever wanted. And then when hanging out with a close friend I could feel like I was not myself, like I was answering all these questions and making jokes, but it wasn’t really me. It’s very scary, but also kinda good that the work stuff is getting done. Hopefully the anxiety and personality swing is just a short term effect and goes away. But this video made me feel like I wasn’t the only one. Thank you!!

I have just weened off epilim as a mood stabilizer. I felt flat, robotic and emotionless. I feel energetic again and it's wonderful. I have had depression and anxiety for years and I am about 2 weeks away from being medication free. I am so excited to be myself again!
I was considering strattera as an option. Thank you for posting this. I can see it's not for me. My ADHD husband took it and it wasn't for him either. He takes ritalin which works best for him.

Stratera needs to bulid up in your system. Its a long term titration medication, you don't see the benefits quickly like the amphetamines... give it time, your dosage step ups are very fast compared to how we do it in the UK.. 2 weeks on each dose before we step up to the next.. i feel your quick jumps would be quite jaring for you..

I just tried Strattera today & so far I understand what you mean by “monotone”. I feel less restless & active. My mind is calm but feels static like something is turning me off. Focus is a little better but not that improved. I feel a bit heavy & indifferent, which is expected when you start a new medication so I’ll see how it goes.

I have tried this for half a year. And at first i was like wow this is a pretty good medicine i was energetic when i woke up so i could get out of bed without struggling. Started smoking and my nicotine tollerance was really high. Began sweating like hell on my new job as a dissabled caretaker (dont know what its called im Dutch) in stressfull situations. So i got insecure about that. And i always felt sleepy during day when i was at home. So i could go into bed at 3 pm and got out of my bed long after i shouldve had dinner. But my appetite was gone for the most part. So i got to the point where i could sleep for like 3 hours and then when i would go to sleep for the night i could still sleep for 8 hours straight. I felt like i lived in some kind of bubble/high. All those thing where enough reason for me to stop Strattera. Im glad that i tried it but i learned im better without the drug. Thats my opinion about it but its always worth it to experiment though.
      Greetings from the Netherlands.👊🏻😘

On my fourth day and just feeling slight changes and from the information expect to pay attention later as they state it takes 14 days to smooth the effects to a base line. While waiting there will be bumps and sensations as it starts to change brain chemistry. Noticed as a 67 year old male that urination takes longer, but not a bad effect and found out that early treatments for bed wetters used this drug to help young adults from this nervous condition.

Hey you are not alone, I get it and from the outside it definitely looks like you were struggling to accept the new changes and maybe letting the fear and paranoia get to you as well as overthinking it a little bit and like you said you feel like you were going through this alone and maybe you don’t have anyone to talk to about it and like you said you don’t like change but there’s a part of you that understands that this might be what you need? I don’t know you that well, so I can’t say anything on that only you can. and aside from that you are very strong and I don’t believe that you’re acting I think maybe you might care a little bit too much about what people thinking. I think that’s from anxiety and the overthinking and I get it. Trust me there’s no judgment on my end.❤ I also have ADHD combined type in. You are awesome because you are providing me with so much insight and just you help me feel seen and I definitely understand the struggle. You deserve nothing but kindness, and good things you do not have to go through this battle alone, if you ever need to talk, just let me know. I know I’m a stranger off the Internet, but like just know you’re not alone and that people care about you. also I get the feeling that your parents might intimidate you in some type of way. I don’t know if that was trauma related or not but again no judgment and I just truly understand personally, I’m working on getting a therapist because I feel like therapy plus medication will help and I’m about to start this medication tomorrow so thank you so much for your incredible insight, I wish us both the best of luck in our continuing journey❤

Sounds like you’re desperate for some kind of attention. Why are you even here if you can’t be supportive? Move on go play with your fishes…

Do not worry about your appearance.
Do not worry about your performance .
You are not here for anyone else other than yourself .
Being a female is hard enough as it is without the pressure of being on stage .
This is your life and your journey no one else’s .
Life is about the experience , and everything that it comes with.
Don’t live your life for others .
    Establish yourself .

Here because I just took my first strattera and feeling nauseated and super exhausted 😂 comforting to know im not the only one.
Im AuDHD and we have a lot of similar issues, according to what you've shared. So this is very valuable.
I'll see how it works with my lifestyle and chemistry. Thank you!

I'm on day 5 of Stattera. It's still making new nauseated but not nearly as bad. My sleep is more restless than before. I have to take the med before bed because it makes me so drowsy and dizzy.
I see the comments feeling flat and that's exactly how i feel. My giddiness is gone and i don't like that at all.
Thank you for the video. I know they said it would take time to tell a difference but i feel some differences already. Trying to be patient.

I’ve got adhd too. I’m seeing my psychiatrist today and hoping to have my meds today and I’m nervous bc I’ve recently been diagnosed and have no idea what to expect from them.

      so what happend?

  • @Przemek-rs5wf

The fact that the comments range from 2 weeks to some months is baffling to me Almost all of people with adhd have dopaminergic deficiency
And some people with adhd have noradrenergic deficiency
Nris such as strattera or qelbree work first on noradrenaline (increasing cognitive arousal and calmness(no, these are not opposites)) and than after some months it is increasing dopamine in your brain (brain is trying to inhibit noradrenaline by creating dopamine which counters noradrenaline creation(pretty smart working medication aye)
That's why there is such diversity of opinion in the comments

    • @Przemek-rs5wf
      @Przemek-rs5wf หลายเดือนก่อน

To sum it up there is only two types of adhd neurologically:
ADHD without dopaminergic activity (these people will feel effects from startera and qelbree within months, when dopamine is increasing in the brain)
And ADHD without both noradrenergic and dopaminergic activity ((more common type) for those people non stimulants are more beneficial than for others, and start feeling effects within weeks. 1st the noradrenaline betterment then at the same time as the first group within months they will feel dopamine hit)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope you are doing well. I have been taking Concerta 36mg for the last 4 months for ADD. The medication has been a game changer for me as it has allowed me to focus better and accomplish my tasks on time. It has also improved my concentration in all aspects. Overall, I am happy and satisfied with the results. The only problem I face is mood swings sometimes when it wears off, but they are manageable😅
