I’m a trans woman living in the US as of July 13, 2024. I have one very very very good reason to permanently move to portugal.

  • @TheGlobalNobles

Brilliant! As a fellow Portuguese immigrant, you perfectly captured the highlights of moving to Portugal. This is a fantastic resource!

Damn, I was told that Portugal is cheaper than the U.s..i guess inflation is everywhere

  • @TheGforceuk

I was married in esphino near Porto to my ex Portuguese wife many years ago. Love the north but also love the sun so definitely retiring to the algarve

This is an excellent video for anyone considering or planning a move to Portugal. I also highly suggest a scouting trip in advance for folks considering the move to check out the areas that interest them. It helps to make an informed decision about where you would like to live. Most importantly and this can't be stressed enough, please folks, take a deep dive into your tax situation. Learn about the Portuguese tax system and tax rates, as you will have to file taxes in your nation of origin as well as in Portugal.

I am hesitant to consider Portugal because I'm Canadian and the CAD to Euro FX rate is worse than the CAD to USD rate. I get that things are generally less expensive there now but that may not always be the case.

I realized recently that we may be moving to Portugal sooner than anticipated. Thanx for this very helpful refresher. We're planning a second trip to scout communities surrounding Porto, like Sao Romao. What do you know about that area?
