+Deondrick Pittman as long as you can swim you can fin I had never finned a day in my life before getting here but a strong swimming background does help
+Jonathan Hofius good question No dolphin kicks are allowed and if you are doing leading arm trailing arm you cant do combat side stroke or combat recovery stroke
I am training for CCT and I am going by the pj/CCT 26 week training program. My question is, the warm up for swimming is a 300m kick with bottom arm out straight. That's all it said. I figured this was like finning but I wanted to make sure. Thanks and the videos are great!
you should get used to swimming on both sides 1 because you want both sides to be of equal strength and 2 so that way when you get to dive school you can swim on both sides which will help you in the long run!
those things suck even now days I have to buy 10 pair of fins to get one pair of that will fit me correctly and not make my feet fatigue quickly brings back memories though of when I had to go through the pipeline and become a PJ
What type of Fins do you recommend buying? I have a size 8 shoe so what size fin would be best? Love the videos and look forward to seeing more stuff on Chairborne!
Thanks Dylan Cody some pools are meters and some yards, all of our pools are meters so if you can work in a 25 or 50m pool that's your best avenue. Hope this helps and thanks again Dylan
Hey Mike, outside of the pipeline and from a strictly fitness perspective...what are your thoughts of finning even if not a diver? Does it enhance other aspects of fitness or does it develop overall athleticism? All the best man.
+MysteriousMrC swimming period develops better athleticism and I live by it. With all of my injuries I can't do a lot of stuff on land but in the water I am almost as good as I once was so yes fin more swim more stay healthy stretch at night and live long strong and prosper Great question bro
Five months ago I couldn't even swim 25 meters without stopping. Today I swam 2 miles, all I did was watch TH-cam to learn proper form. If this is what you want make it happen.
Mike do you have to be used to finning before you go ,or it's something that you can pick up during the pipeline.

Are you allowed to dolphin kick off the wall? Or in the middle of a lap? Or use the combat side stroke?
+Jonathan Hofius good question

Joe Smith sounds like it yes and if not doing anything really to warm up is good we used to do 50 free, 50 travel, 50 etc.... you get the idea
Thanks
Do you have to switch arms every lap? I've been practicing just one arm straight the whole swim.
