- This is a part of my testride of the new BMW S1000XR. I own a Yamaha Tracer 700 since 2 Years. I consider to buy a new bike in the next 12 months.

How can I appreciate the autobahn & the power of the s1000xr if you're just following a van!😭😭😭

I'm not an experienced and fast rider, because I have been riding bikes since 2018. For me top priority is and has always been to ride safe. And this has been the first time on this bike. Sorry that I did not fulfilled your expectations.

You are right, but the moments with less traffic on german autobahn are very rare...

Thanks a lot. I try not to be stupid. It is not so easy if you have a rocket under your butt.
What windshield is on your bike?
Frustrating to watch. On/Off/On/Off throttle. Smoooooth is the way. I think with more experience you will understand this. Ride safe.

It is extremely stable. You can adjust the suspension during the ride and there is a big difference between road and dynamic settings. Maybe I should make real review video... if I only could find time as full time working doctor. 😂

Sound is ok, but I like other bikes more regarding the sound.
10.54, 172km/h past a police car. Woop woop its da sounda da police. Oooooorrrrr maybe NOT! OH YEAH this is the german autobahn. Thats why i luuuuuuuv riding/driving in Germany. I wouldnt choose anything other than German. I drive an E55 AMG, EXTREMELY modified with BRABUS and now ive just ordered the 2021 s1000xr fully specked out with carbon paket and the Cobra exhaust. BMW says end April, so the waiting is painful, but the rewards gonna be gr8.

Any idea what's the top speed? Some sites say 200 kmph, some say 210. I saw a video of the OG XR which had top speed of 260 but have no idea about the latest gen XR.

African twin or this XR which are better?
I can not answer this question objectively because I have not tested Africa Twin by Honda. Neither do I have intentions to compare both. BMW S1000XR is very different from Honda Africa Twin as far as I can say. The S1000XR is like a Sport bike with a lot of comfort with very little to no off road capabilities and the Africa Twin is a real Enduro with real off road capabilities. What would I buy, ofcourse the BMW S1000xr.

@@whoami5042 Indeed I have considered the MT10. Unfortunately my Yamaha dealer does not have the MT10 for a Testride.

I have a 2018 S1000XR Top speed is 125 mph At speeds over 100 the bike is absolutely solid Currently waiting on my build number for a fully loaded 2021

you would choose S1000XR or GS1250, without taking into account off road riding, only long trips on vacation passager and luggage... :) ????

Indeed I do a lot on my own bike. This has been a testride, so I wanted to see how the bike reacts on inputs.
Würdest du die S1000XR empfehlen? Habe zurzeit nur den A2 Führerschein aber ich sehe mich schonmal bei den größeren Motorrädern um. Wollte eigentlich eine Supersportler haben aber habe Bedenken aufgrund meines Rückens. Würde die mir frühestens in 2 bis 3Jahren holen, da ich noch 1 Jahr gedrosselt fahren muss!
Das war eine Probefahrt von 1,5 Stunden. Die Maschine ist bestimmt die beste Allrounderin unter den Motorrädern, die für mich in Frage kämen. Ich habe letztens auch eine Yamaha R1 zur Probe gefahren, Video kommt in den nächsten Tagen. Obwohl die R1 abgeht wie eine Rakete, würde ich sie niemals kaufen, denn sowas braucht kein Mensch auf öffentlichen Straßen. Mit der Sitzposition auf der R1 kann ich nicht länger als 30 Minuten fahren. Hingegen ist die S1000xr unglaublich gemütlich und hat Leistung fast auf dem Niveau eines Supersportlers. Man kann alles mit ihr machen. Billig ist sie aber nicht, deswegen zögere ich im Moment noch und meine Tracer 700 habe ich erst seit 2 Jahren und hab noch eine Restgarantie von 1 Jahr.
Wenn ich dir einen Tipp geben kann. Mach eine Zwischenschritt. Von A2 auf die Maschine ist der Sprung zu groß. Die s1000xr animiert enorm zum heizen und man überschätzt sich schnell.

Yes I did, but it was hot day,when I drove it.
Is there a vibration on foot peg?
Vibrations are there yes but only in 6th gear rpm over 6k.

It is one the the best bikes on the market. Go for it, if you have the money.

Das ist richtig. Der Motor ruckelt merkbar beim langsamen Fahren.

@@johnnyseyer1260 Nein, ich habe die BMW nicht gekauft. Das war nur eine Probefahrt. Sie ist mir zu teuer, dafür was sie kann. Es gibt meiner Meinung nach wesentlich bessere Alternativen. Im Moment spiele ich mit dem Gedanken eine Ninja 1000SX zu holen.

What's the top speed you achieved?
216 km/h, the bike was limited to 9000 rpm because first service has not been done. I did not know, when I got it for the testride.

@@puzzlepuzzlepuzzle760 This has been a testride. I don't own the bike. As far as I could test it in 1.5 hours the seat was great, much better than on my Yamaha Tracer 700.

165HP is more than enough. But if you need more power on a sport touring you should consider the Kawasaki H2 SX.
