Thank you for the recipe. However, I feel like the proportions were off. Are you using the same cup to measure everything? My chikanda came out really hard and rubbery and after adding it, I could barely stir it coz it was too hard
Girl it’s my first time seen blending raw groundnuts with water straight into a paste it makes a lot of sense at least next time l can Cook ifishashi Bemba style Instead of all the time using peanut butter 💃🏽..Good on you thanks for the tip, cheers
Are you sure about the measurements? Cause mine seemed like the groundnuts was not enough or something and when you mixed in the chikanda, it seemed soft but when I added mine it was harddd couldn’t even mix it and yours seemed to be more soft and more than mine in quantity. I followed the measurements as is ma’am
Hi, thanks for watching. It really depends on the chikanda you get. This is why Chikanda is very difficult to teach because measurements are usually just estimates. The best is to keep the groundnuts as they are then add the chickanda a little at a time and adjust from there. If its too hard, you can add some water to soften it. Hope this helps
What you're haven't explained is the proportion of salt to the soda. Because that is the the qualifying factor of a good chikanda. If these two are not balanced, you have a problem
This is as per video because it doesn't show us what chikanda looks like arms how it's grounded. I know it's a long process but you shouldn't have included that. Mum used to make chikanda and it's involves putting the grinded chikanda in the sun to dry.
Khursum R.K Banguola I am glad we in Southern Africa do not use it,it clogs the arteries seriously.isnt a very healthy oil.let it remain in its home west Africa.
How can we embrace it when we dont have it? Even coconut oil we dont have coz we are landlocked. we use what is widely available and cheap to us like sunflower oil, soyabean oil, groundnut oil
