Halo 1-3 will always be legendary to me. I was only 9 when the first one came out. I remember picking it out at the store. I remember not realizing you had to use the right along stick to turn and look up and down etc as it was my first FPS I had ever played. I remember fighting my way off The Pillar of Autumn. I remember exploring the Halo ring and fighting off the Covenant. I remember discovering The Flood and surviving hordes of them. But best of all I remember that last mission. The music, the atmosphere, the stakes riding on you being successful. It was fucking awesome.
I am just 14 and decided to try the original Halo for some reason. While I can say that it is clearly old, the campaign is still in the top 5% of games I have played. The enemies are all so much smarter and more fun to fight than normal grunts in other fps games. All levels are original and bring something new to the table. Even when the visuals are old the atmosphere and soundtrack carry it hard. I have almost nothing bad to say about it. I think Library is too long and hard but for a game that is 8 years older than me, I can say it is still legendary.
I started playing when I was four or five after school with my Dad. It was Halo Reach. I loved it. It's a masterpiece. The Bungie games are amazing. It's so sad they left, and it's so sad Halo is where it's at right now. I thought with Infinite, we'd have a return to form and it'd be like old Halo. It had so much potential, and it was thrown down the drain.
I love how this song incorporates several sound cues from the various levels in the game, especially those from The Silent Cartagrapher. I would always get confused looking for the map as a kid.
@@phenomenalcap1948 I played the silent cartographers beach landing back to back for like 4 hours straight every time i got to visit my dad when i was 4. This and the pillar of autumn were my two favorite levels as a kid. God how good those days were, i wish i could go back and play this game again for the first time, same with reach too. I wish I had played reach for the first time when I was old enough for the game to convey the emotion it was clearly trying to, i went back and played it as an adult last year and my god, the scene with the transport ship going down and the line about not bothering to send search and rescue because there was no point sent chills down my spine. Its truly amazing how pixels and vibrations can make you feel so much emotion for a short time.

Yeah. Personally I loved destiny(though I recognize how shitty it can be). Sadly Destiny 2 took out the elements I loved in the franchise. I'll still play it from time to time(to see if they fixed it). Right now Dark Souls is my main game :) Why did I tell you all this? haha.
Warframe if not anything feels like a continuation of Halo. Just has slightly different visual art style and different gameplay, but I'd say for any Halo fans out there that if you wish to get that feeling of first seeing the rings again then I highly recommend playing Warframe. Wich btw rn it's a totally free game. I wouldn't be surprised if the creators were Halo fans cause you can really see it
New Realm it's not really free. I tried it out and hit a point where you have to buy stuff to level up (with real money) or grind for like a year straight. I had fun while it was free but that kinda took me out of it...

I think one of my favorite moments from any video game is when you leave the cave in the "Halo" mission, riding to the top of the hill while this music begins and crescendos. Seeing the beacons shooting out into the sky while being told you have to rescue the different crews, knowing what to do next, absolutely amazing game design moment. Combat Evolved and 3 are truly amazing games.
I remember listening to this in the original game while playing Halo Combat Evolved. It was so good, and I loved how the AI was, the first flood mission was one of my fav missions.
