How to Take Your Fingerprints at Home

- As part of your suppressor paperwork, you have to submit your fingerprints to the ATF. Our at-home fingerprint kit includes one two-inch ink pad and two FD-258 fingerprint cards to allow you to take your necessary fingerprints from the comfort of your own home.
Simply follow the instructions included with your packet to complete your fingerprints, then mail us your completed fingerprint card using the return shipping envelope provided. You only need to send us one completed fingerprint card - the other cards are provided in case you make a mistake.
Our digital processing team will scan your fingerprint card and keep it on file for future purchases.

UPDATE: As of 2023, the kit ships with two fingerprint cards, not four.
The amount of BS it takes to get a suppressor is absurd. I should be able to walk into the gun store and walk out with one in 5 minutes. Buying one of these shouldn’t be any different from buying a box of ammo or an extra magazine. Anyways nice video, I’ll be ordering one to put on my 15-22 soon

All this fingerprinting nonsense is just bureaucratic bullshit, designed to harass gun owners. The ATF could easily get digital fingerprints from any state that issues CCW permits. In Europe suppressors can be bought over the counter.
Be advised...this video is old. It's fall 2022. The kits no longer come with 4 cards. Only 2 in mine.
Just purchased one with these guys and its pretty easy step and makes it a lot easier for everything in purchasing a suppressor. Can't wait 😊

Bought a suppressor today..so I have to send the fingerprints back to silencer central, y’all have to receive them and send them to the ATF to be received within 10 days of today?
Do I have to do both cards or do I only need to do one ? My kit only had 2 cards in it, and no ink pad. Luckily I had my own ink pad.

When you buy the suppressor do you have to buy those finger print cards separately, or do some come with the order?

@@SilencerCentral I know but the op asked if you had to pay for the fingerprint cards or if it was included in the purchase of the suppressor and your reply made it seem like they where included. So I just let them know that you do have to pay for them separately.

Ive heard the ATF just tosses them. Which is certainly possible after the ridiculously messy prints I’ve turned in
I have heard they scan them and toss the originals. Or else some stupid clerk shreds them after they get your money.

Can I do my prints at home for a VAF ?
If I submit my fingerprints for you and then later buy another suppressor do I need to submit them again for each subsequent suppressor?
You would not need to re-submit your prints again.
@SilencerCentral I’ve purchased two separate kits but instead I only received 3 fingerprint cards, I did receive two ink pads as well as two different instruction pamphlets, however I was shorted on the cards !

I ordered a Banish 30 this week and the fingerpring kit should be here i think tomorrow, if i want to make sure of a good job on fingerprints do you know if we can go to our local police station and have them help us? will they? thanks

What if you have cuts on your fingers? I always have cuts from the work I do. Will that tamper with the quality of the print?
I see on my paperwork "watching the video so I don't mess it up 😂" there is a little section you can add a note of cuts, or disfigurement that will make the print unique

Yes, we did change it from when this video was originally made two years ago.
Thanks to O'Bidenomics, everyone is cutting back on "portions." 'Cause I only received two (2) FD-258 fingerprint cards from SC, instead of the four (4) mentioned in this clip (might want to update the video or at least add an update in the narrative below the clip). However, as a retired military vet, CCW permit holder, and retired federal employee, I've been "printed" many times. So, I'll just be careful to correctly ink these 2 cards. Reviewing the video does indeed refresh the process in the ol' brain. THANKS!

No, you still have to submit a set of prints.

No. I worked for government and the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Agencies could easily exchange data, but that would be too efficient for them.
What if you are missing a digit on one of your hands. Left ring finger was amputated.

I accidentally cut a piece off my left thumb a few weeks ago. It's has healed down to just smaller than an eraser on a pencil. It will be weeks before it's completely gone. What am I to do about that?

Instructions are to use black ink on the FP cards.
My fingerprint card did not come with instructions on how to fill out the top portion

I love silencer central and all but having to go through all of this to get a suppressor is a bunch of crap!! Should be no different than getting a gun. These fingerprint cards are hard enough for people with big hands or worn and torn hands. Also, I did not get 4 cards with mine I got 2. Hopefully the 2nd one will do. Because I boogered up the first one lol! Hell, I have a crater in my left ring finger from digging out a splinter. I pressed but where the crater is no ink is shown so I will probably have to do it again.
Does each person on the trust need to submit fingerprints? Say my wife?
I was told you had to have law enforcement do fingerprints and sign off on them. I went down to my local corrections office and got the process done for $20 bucks. Had to wait in the lobby and get weird looks, felt like a criminal the whole time.
Not true at all. Plenty of people do theirs at home with our DIY kit and they are accepted without issue.
I have been told that as well, but Silencer Shop has its kiosk along with digital prints that you can have taken without anyone signing off on them; so, I think that is probably just legacy lore.
