  • Walk the Camino Primitivo from Grandas de Salime to Vilar de Cas. We cross the border from Asturias into Galicia, leaving the land of cider behind for the farmlands and witches. Walk with us through the charming towns of A Fonsagrada, O Piñeiral, Paradevella, A Lastra, O Cádavo Baleira, and Castroverde.
    We started the Camino Primitivo (Camino de Santiago) on May 8th, 2023. We made great time, walking from Oviedo to Santiago in 11 days.
    This is our first time walking the Camino Primitivo. We hiked the Camino de Invierno in Winter 2023, the Camino del Norte in Summer 2019, and the Camino Frances in Fall 2017. We packed ultralight bags for all of our journeys.

    At first when I saw you had all these camino videos I was like hmmm? But wow they are so great. Now I don't even have to do all the hiking myself!! Just kidding. Great music choices and fun to just see all the beautiful spots and you guys are just remarkable people full of life, having fun goofing around, probably punch drunk from exhaustion, but that makes you so sweet and fun. Thank you for making these, it's a gift to us your viewers. :)

    I have done del Norte back to back with Primitivo, however for the mountains I kind of prefer the Primitivo. Especially because I arrived in Lugo Good Friday and it was amazing. Thank you for sharing, Asturias is beautiful in early April. ☔

    My wife and I have appreciated your videos for the mix of solid information, videography, humor and entertainment. This series has given me an extra reason to pay attention. We were on similar portions of del Norte while you were on Primitivo (for example, we were in Gijon and Avilés on the day you set off from Oviedo), and I've been looking in the background for some of our Camino friends who veered to the Primitivo a day or two before you started your walk. So far no sightings, but I'm still looking.

    My favorite part of every Camino, more so even than the finish, is crossing into Galicia. Seeing those familiar milestone markers, €8 hostels, and most importantly the bittersweet knowledge that you're almost there is everything.

    Cool Vid guys! How did you find it compared to the Norte? (Idid the Norte last year in May) This is part of a combined Camino I want to do next year from the start of May. I will be looking at the first week of the Norte (it's the best), then going to Leon to do the San Salvador before doing the Primativo.
    Good to see what the weather was like. Last year on the Norte the starts were cool around 7-9C at 6:50am then it warmed up to about 17/18C.

      @DaysWeSpend  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like an amazing time. FYI, the first week of May is very busy in Spain since labor day is a major holiday here.
      We met a couple who did the San Salvador and they LOOOOVED it.
      Compared to the Norte, the Primitivo was so different. Very remote in many sections and very staged in some places. Way more trails but also more mud.

    Do you think in one week this is feasible x

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not. If you can hike 46 km a day on average, yes. But that doesn't sound fun at all. There are other routes that are great for a one week option.
