Air frying a whole chicken is just like buying a rotisserie chicken from the store but of course it tastes so much better when made at home as you can control the spices and ingredients. The chicken is a blank canvas and you can spice it how you like and you can use whatever fresh herbs you have. The takeaway is the cooking method which is super simple as the air fryer does all the work for you.
    ¼ cup olive oil
    Juice of ½ lemon
    1 tbsp granulated garlic
    1 tbsp granulated onion
    ½ tbsp paprika
    ½ tbsp smoked paprika
    1 tbsp dried oregano
    1 tbsp dried basil
    1 tbsp dried parsley
    1 tsp chili powder
    1 tsp ground allspice
    1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
    1 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped
    1 tsp ground black pepper
    1 tsp salt
1 whole chicken, around 3.5 lb
In a bowl, mix all the ground spices and fresh chopped herbs with olive oil and lemon juice until it becomes a paste.
After washing and dabbing the whole chicken dry, smear the paste all over the chicken, under the skin, and on the inside.
Place the chicken breast side down in the air fryer, and set it to 375 F for 45 minutes. Then flip the chicken over using tongs and air fry for an additional 15-20 minutes depending on the size of the chicken. The internal temperature should be at 180 F.
Remove from air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then slice. Serve with Lemon & Garlic Rice as shown in the video (the recipe for that is in my new cookbook, “Yalla, Let’s Eat” - amzn.to/433R8Ni

I can buy one already cooked at COSTCO for $5. So this is one food that makes absolutely no sense for me to make at home and pay more. I agree you can make it taste slightly better cooking it yourself. But the time and effort do not make it an economically reasonable endeavor.

True, but Costco or BJ’s chickens are washed with chlorine water, so making it at home is much healthier

I am the same some cooking is just easier when some ingredients are store bought or the whole "meal" is. Economic wise. This does not go with every food but definitely some times it's cheaper let's say to buy Alfredo sauce than make your own etc
