Moved to Florida in 2012. Absolutely LOVE it here. Everyone is different. But for me, this is paradise.
Although I could do without the hurricanes. 😀

If Tampa Aerial Media doesn’t produce the BEST “tourism showcase” videos, I don’t know who does
He lets the places he visits shine, never stealing the spotlight, commentary is also outstanding and deeper than what you’re accustomed to, but spot on
He shows the State I live in,and deeply love, in a way no one else does.....demonstrating that he can do so with YOUR State too
Images, tempo, cadence, music, comments.....all flow, blend and augment the whole
    Hands down the BEST
He described the Keys (my favorite place in the WORLD) like nobody I’ve ever seen....and I’ve seen
Cheers from City Beautiful (Coral Gables), keep doing what you are so evidently talented to, and keep being you.....plenty of tiny drops, here and there reveals to us how you are
My son and I are fans
    👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I moved to Florida in 2012. Prior to that, I had lived in California for about 14 years and prior to that, I had grown up in the north east.
After having lived here for ten years, I can say that I absolutely LOVE the state of Florida. I love the culture. I love the beaches and wildlife. The people are extremely friendly. The weather, while quite hot in the summer, is still overall very pleasant all year round. Everyone is different, but for me, Florida is paradise.

Can’t wait! I’ve never seen you put out a bad video. Appreciate the consistent content and the follow up on areas as things recover & open up. Always enjoyed your music choices.
I’ve been getting into the bar/drink tiki culture (it’s the tropical cocktails and escapism for me) and noticed there are quite a few tiki bars throughout Florida. I’ve ordered a few collectors tiki mugs from the down there, like the Honu in Dunedin for example. Hoping to see you visit a tiki bar sometime in your videos.

I absolutely love Florida. The weather, the general way the state is ran, the people... there's not many complaints in my book. Floridians have been consistently more welcoming than other states like Texas and Georgia. As long as you work hard and are nice, they are nice back

About the weather… it is astonishingly wonderful. I’ve been in my new beach condo in Fort Lauderdale for a few weeks (April). Other than a few raindrops from a passing cloud, it has not rained once. Every day has been sunny or partly sunny. Highs 79-84 degrees. Lows 70-75 degrees. Low humidity. Wonderful breeze from the ocean. Just perfect. I know this won’t last forever, but my goodness, it has been a treat!

Agree. 18 years ago when I grew sick and tired of the cold and snow in the North East/New England I decided to relocate and began researching place to move to. Finally zeroed in on two states - Florida and California. After intense research Florida was the winner. So relocated to South Florida. But wanted to live in California to test out my choice number 2. So worked and lived in California for a few years. Was nice in California but that re-inforced to me that my decision to move to Florida was truly the best decision. Florida is a fantastically planned state. The infrastructure is top notch. Excellent WIDE roads. Everything is co-located in Florida.
You dont have to drive 30 and 40 minutes through winding narrow roads to get to places. Most Florida cities have been planned out in a grid pattern of wide streets/boulevards. I have never come across another state with as many strip malls. So whatever you are looking for, groceries, restaurants, malls, nails, massage, everthing is co-located to you and you will get there on a smooth ride on roads that are not cracked or full of potholes. Also the street lights are bright and the roads are well lit at night. That is one thing I hated about California which has narrow winding roads with very poor street lighting at night, if you were lucky to even have street lights at many places. Driving on well lit very wide and well maintained roads/streets that Floridians take for granted is not commonplace across all of the US.
Next - proximity to beaches and quality of beaches. No matter where in Florida one is, one can get to a beach by driving for 45 minutes. A few places on the panhandle may need 60 minutes drive [but those are exceptions]. The beach sand in florida is powdery [not muddy/clumpy like they are in many places in California beaches]. The water in the Florida beaches are warm not very cold like many California beaches are.
Weather - While many people/visitors complain that Florida can get too hot and humid, believe me when I say that parts of California can get VERY VERY COLD in the winter. It will shock people when I say that the cold we experienced in San Jose and San Francisco was even worse than that in PA and Boston, only that it didn't snow in California [though we could see snow covered mountain peaks from time to time]. Bone chilling cold is what it can get in California.
Homelessness/tent cities - Another big negative about California. It has gotten even worse in recent years in CA. Just out of control. How is it that Florida does such a great job of keeping its cities and towns spotlessly clean while many of the one time great cities, Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago, Portland Oregon, Seattle, NYC, San Francisco, Philly, LA, are spiraling into unmitigated disaster with rampant tent cities/homelessness is mind boggling. Everytime I return from visiting many of these cities, I am so glad that I call Florida home. How is it that Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Orlando, St Petersburg, Sarasota, Tampa, Gainesville, Fort Myers, Naples, Tallahassee, Lakeland etc are kept so clean.
Everytime we have visitors from PA, MI, NH, MA, NYC etc. they always gush in disbelief when we go out on drives. One of the common themes that surprised us was 'Wow, such fantastic roads you have' and we were initially incredulous - 'What about them roads?'. You would expect people to gush about the beaches and piers etc [which they do] but the sheer delight in mundane things of Florida like the well maintained roads and freshly painted street signs and lane markings is what gets me everytime [besides the street lighting].
One friend [from Pittsburgh, PA] we drove all the way between West Palm and Miami and he exclaimed after we reached Miami, 'Unbelievable, we have now driven through three of four cities [we went through Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Miami, besides small town in between] and unbelievably we never came across any rundown buildings, not one. Not one rusty bridge. Not one bad road. Not one tent city. Every single building looks like it is freshly painted'. When we stopped at a random gas station in North Miami, this friend stepped out and began clicking pictures of random high rises. So I asked him what he found so fascinating about these random buildings? And he said that it is unbelievable how every single building looks like it is brand new and freshly painted and not a speck of dust or paper anywhere on the street. He asked me if this particular place was 'New'. I told him that this is a part of Miami which is atleast a hundred years old! He kept repeating on an on that though we drove for about 3 hours through various cities spanning three counties of South Florida, how is it that not one thing seemed out of place. No garbage or trash anywhere on the streets, and all communities look rich and well maintained. I told him that it is not like Florida does not have poverty but it is reasonably well maintained.
The mother of a friend visited form Ohio and she had almost the exact things to say about Florida. I remember what she said: 'Don't even think of moving out of Florida, ever. Not NYC not California, not any place else. Florida is the place to be in the US. This place looks so pretty, well maintained and rich. Nothing to beat Florida'. She eventually moved to a place on the Gulf coast after purchasing a house there.
IN conclusion, while the rest of the US makes fun of Florida [the 'Florida Man' memes and jokes], Florida does a few things very well. There has to be a reason why Florida attracts the most number of inter-state relocation/migration among all the US states.

Would you ever do a video on Ocala, Florida? My husband got a job there and I’m super depressed moving there. Our dream was South Florida and Ocala is so different from the south. I’m dreading the move and the lifestyle there. Maybe seeing a video from your perspective on the city would help 🙏

Ocala is not bad at all. FL native and lived in several great cities. It’s an hour away to pretty much anything and the horses aren’t bad either.

Hear a lot of great things about Ocala and how they train horses for the Kentucky derby there. But is certainly is not South Florida that you think of when you hear Miami/Fort Lauderdale. That Miami/Fort Lauderdale vibe is unique to South Florida and you dont get that in Tampa, Orlando, St Pete, Sarasota anywhere else in Florida.

@@samanthamccormick1505 we did move and have been in Ocala almost 7 months now. While I don’t hate it, I don’t love it. What I was worried about was accurate. Yes it’s beautiful. But it definitely has that small town feel. It’s very behind with the times as far as having a lot of certain stores or opportunities or even in the medical field. When I had an appointment for pregnancy, I couldn’t even find a female obgyn. They show up online but when you actually try to find one there were none. And the doctors offices were very disgusting and dirty. And this was the nicer one that I went too not like state insurance medical. I also had to travel to Gainesville for appointments (about a 50 minute drive) because they don’t have technology for certain things. There’s only one target here which is always sold out of stuff. Only organic store is Earth Fare and options are limited. Which stinks when you mostly want to buy fresh and organic. The Saturday market was a joke. The mall shouldn’t even be called a mall. It’s just small. And everyone we have met here doesn’t love it here because there’s not much to do. Most people who live here only live here because they grew up here and either never left or came back because of family. It’s not a place you just move to for no reason. To do anything you must go at least an hour in a half or longer out of town. People say that like it’s no big deal but it’s a lot. If you have kids and pets, it’s not that easy to constantly drive out of town for shopping or fun. It’s a lot of work and gas and the freeway here is awful and so much traffic trying to go towards Tampa or Orlando. There’s no downtown. It’s a little town square that you can walk through in 10 minutes. It’s just been a bummer and I can’t wait to leave. If you like a slow small town with not much to do then you’ll love it. Otherwise, keep looking. And it’s not anymore affordability than south Florida. People always say oh it’s so much cheaper there. It’s not. You get little for your money and it’s not even newer or modern. We pay $2700 for a 3 bedroom rental that’s old and outdated. So yes even though it’s pretty, it’s not worth it in my opinion. And it doesn’t feel like you’re in Florida at all. Sure there’s the humidity, but not being by the water or having the beautiful palm trees like south Florida, it feels like Midwestern America. You’re landlocked and it’s hot and humid with millions of gross bugs.

@@Tasadal1 Thank you for sharing your first hand experience in Ocala. Sure will be useful for others planning on moving there. I totally agree with your points. I believe the way out for you and your family would be for your husband to look at opportunities in South Florida. Given what you are already paying to rent, it should get you a similar rental home in South Florida. [May not get you a sea facing condo, but there are many nice homes a bit away from the beaches]. And I agree 100% that without the beaches it just doesnt feel the same. Agree that we in Fort Lauderdale and Miami do not go to the beach every day, but knowing that we can be at the beach in 15 minutes and chill is very reassuring.
And there is an inner calm and 'pride' that one feels deep within to be able to live and drive around in Florida cities like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and walk the wide beachside broadwalk or enjoy the beachside cafes and restaurants. I sure hope that you and your family realize your dream of relocating to South Florida. You never know when the right job comes to your husband and then suddenly everything falls in place.
Everything you mentioned, is a lifestyle very much available in South Florida. The boat rides, yellow river taxis in Fort Lauderdale with their daylong passes using which you can hop on and hop off at any destination, including at seaside cafes/restaurants/tiki bars and get back on a river taxi and explore other places. So there are many activities to do. Several casinos in Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale that is nice to visit to enjoy their brunch/breakfast offerings too. Praying that you get your chance to move to South Florida.

@@samanthamccormick1505 thanks ❤️ we Hope the opportunity comes soon too. It’s been a tough transition coming from a large city to such a small town. I’m trying to be positive and enjoy it while we are here especially since the kids are watching. But it’s definitely hard. I think the hardest part, is that since I know we don’t plan on staying for long, I don’t really want to try and build friendships and community since I know we’ll just be leaving. But then it’s very lonely here. So I’m trying but then not really 😂 It’s funny because I know a lot of people who probably would love Ocala for the small
town feel. It’s just not a fit for us. We looked into Fort Lauderdale as well but I think west coast is more for us. But we can’t wait to visit Ft. Lauderdale and are hoping to make it down there this month or next! One thing I will say about Ocala-location is great as far being able to explore a lot of nearby cities. Because it’s central you are 2-4 hours from anywhere. Not convenient when you’re trying to live and just find things to do and enjoy your day and shop..but convenient to explore and get to know the state!

I have an active Labrador that loves to swim and play with other dogs so I’m looking for the overall city with best beach access and Dogg walking areas and dog parks. It doesn’t necessarily need to be dog beach is just somewhere where they won’t yell at you if your dog takes a little swim and somewhere with lots of happy pups and dog owners.
