I was impressed when I got this product, for the first time I’m able to shape my beard perfectly and also in a timely manner. Best shaping tool out hands down !
Thanks for mentioning the technique of reducing the guard length for thicker places. This is what I was missing. No one else seems to mention you should reduce the guard and it never crossed my mind and i kept wondering why is it that my beard is still less thick on the sides than in the middle. Now I know what to do. Gonna try it tonight.
Yeah I tried it today. Much better now. The guard on my beard trimmer has 8 mm, 6 mm, 4 mm and 2 mm lengths. So I did a 4 mm on the sides and 2 mm for the front/goatee. In the video when you switch from a 3 to a 2, what are the lengths for those?
Can You explain to me what the author of the video meant talking about "short setting"? It seems to me that he talked about two different things that was lenght of the guard and some mysterious settings called short or long. Can u explain?
I think he just meant the different clipper guards of different lengths. Basically you need to switch to a lower guard where the beard is thicker so that it appears the same thickness overall.
TheBarthL, look at the video at 20 seconds and you’ll see that I push the lever toward the blade. This is the closed setting-it makes the blade just a little shorter. If you push the lever in the opposite direction, it makes it a little longer, and that’s called “open lever.” Let me know if that helps. Also look at my video tip #4 which explains it even further. Thanks for your comment
I never knew a beard template existed and I just ordered one because of this video. Trimmed up my beard and shaped it up pretty nicely already but when it grows back in like 3 days best believe ima use it!

Let me see if I understand this correctly. For the thinner parts you barely wanna cut anything, but for the thicker parts you want to cut a lot so that it's all around even?
yeah I do that too. With hair it all comes down to equality in mass. Areas with thicker hair need less be less long less long to have the same mass of hair in a given area than areas where there's less hair thickness. It works well to make your beard look better than it really is. Even while your hair becomes shorther with shaving it this way, shorter hair you can make it look thinner. Everything thick area is going to make the thinner area look thin, so try to take the thin areas as the basis and then cut the thicker areas shorter, each time a setting, untill it looks as if it has achieved the same density of overal hair.
Tronci, surprisingly that’s not the case because hair appears thicker in places where there are more follicles. So you might actually need to cut thicker beard patches shorter
