I had to swap my beloved MS-20 mini for a K2 when I moved back with my parents; didn't have space for a synth with even a mini keyboard. Loving Behringer's unit so far - the build quality is far better than I expected for that price, the sound is basically identical, and Filter 2 has a completely different, more liquid character that will def come in handy for certain patches. Only thing I don't like is having to re-calibrate the oscillators every fucking time I turn it on.
I love the build quality on the K2. If feels absolutely solid and the price is insane. The reason I never bought an ms-20 mini is because it felt incredibly cheap to be. Loose wobbly knobs, awful keys, high noise floor. Love my k-2 it's an absolute beast
I hate to admit it but Behringer is killing it this year. If people didn't hate them so much they would get the credit they deserve for releasing so many cheap analog synths. Even there mini toy synths have been so good recently.
I've been using the RD-9 for a while now and it has been amazing for me. Before my experience with the RD-9 I would stay away from Behringer but now I am considering picking one of these up.
@@jessihawkins9116 no physical version of the MS-20 never did. It's what I call dinosaur analog - you get MIDI for notes, but everything else is a hands-on experience.
Dang… I really love the howling sound of the MS20/K2, however I need to be able to control it by midi and that includes filter cutoff and such, which appears to impossible. I have one (mono) audio channel left on my setup, so I’m trying to get over the K2 and get another mono synth in besides my Subsequent 37. Trying to decide between the Waldorf Pulse 2 (which is currently rereleased in a blue limited edition through Thomann, only in Europe) or just get a Microfreak. The rest of my setup comprises of the Fantom 6, Cobalt 8X, Argon 8m, HydraSynth (module), Peak, DeepMind 12 (module) and the MiniFreak. I also have (stored) a Blofeld, Torais AS-1 and Streichfett. But yeah, I find it hard to decide on that last (small) mono synth and it’s such a shame most of those Behringer modules have such a poor midi cc implementation. The MicroFreak however might be superfluous because I already have the MiniFreak. Lol, this is kind driving me nuts lately 😂 Cheers
Meris lvx and the mercury x. Sold the LV X it was just way too much. I just wanted some good delays not 50,000 of them. But the mercury X that’s something that I’m gonna buy. I just need to sell a couple of my Reverb pedals.
Over here (Europe) the K2 costs way more than $200 and is a lot more expensive than the other Behringer synths of the same size (cat, Kobol), only Pro 1 is also the same.
Great synth, but I sold mine after one year. It's less similar to the original compare to other Behringer's clones, but sounds good. I sold it for ms-20 mini because of sound. K2 is modern sounding synth, not mellow and aggressive, a bit harsh on highs. Ms-20' quality is mediocre, but it sounds very mellow and vintage. K2 can't sound same in any position: filters are so different. But I sold MS-20 too, because it's very uncomfortable to use. Compared to plugin emulations face to face and sold it, because first sounds the same and has patches.
I have played them side by side, they are damn near identical. The mini is ever so slightly more buzzy in the top end. Other than that they sound identical. They sound so close that I guarantee nobody would be able to tell the difference in the mix of a fully produced track.

Noise floor on MS is fixed just by selecting other output. No noise at all.

Mine came with a Eurorack power header..maybe do some research.
