You forgot the words "for him" in the end of the sentence. Cause it really is difficult, not to him though. The guy has an incredible vocal range and can hold tags for really long time.
Haha y’all crack me up Tim is a human bag of unlimited air and range of voice. He could of held the note even longer but everyone else ran outta breath 😂😂..
Except Ramsus Kingström (I hope I spelt it right), who was challenged to a posting contest by Tim who died of shock after Ramsus held his for 52 seconds. Ramsus won because Tim didn't bother after that.
How I wish people could refrain themselves from applauding on the last chord. It must be pretty hard not to do it though, just watching this video had me jumping on my seat. Amazing
"As a human I enjoy vocalizing at many different frequencies in rapid succession with my human voice and also in combining my vocalizations in different harmonic permutations with the simultaneous vocalizations of several of my fellow humans." - Tim Waurick
I saw VS live in MN. It was the first time I saw a medalist quartet. They opened with When I See an Elephant Fly. I actually let out a laugh on the last chord. For some reason, that was my emotional response. It was like nothing I had ever heard. I have listened to so much online and from the studio from a bunch of quartets, but nothing will compare to that moment.
If these guys went on a singing/talent competition (sing-off, america's got talent, what have you) they would clear the field easy. The world needs to see this level of our hobby. This is a secret way too good to keep!
Haha, 2:02 is exactly why Eric is a gold medalist and I will never be one-that is just a ridiculous re-entry. Oh, the rest of the performance was good too, if you're into "ringing chords."
They are one of the goat quartets. I got to meet them, and it was one of the best days of my life. I love how when Tim posts, that’s almost all you can hear, what a beast.
At 2:10 you can hear a fifth voice on their slide to that last chord. I can clearly find that the bass slides to a low C, bari slides to an A, lead slides to a D#, and tenor slides to an F. If you listen closely, on that last slide, there’s a pitch that slides to a middle C therefore making it five notes you’re hearing. Pretty amazing overtones
That was the incomparable Tim Waurick :) This video is awesome, but I was priviledged to be on the Smooth As Ice Alaskan cruise with these guys in July and the performance they did of this was out of this world!!
Can't stop watching this video! Vocal Spectrum are incredible! And Aaron Dale is a genius arranger. They're all having so much fun in this video. Brilliant stuff!
I really can't stand when some audience members, and increasingly lately, clap during the final chord of an amazing arrangement like this. If there's one chord that you would definitely like to hear clearly, it's the final one, then everyone starts clapping the moment they detect it's the ending. Does anyone else find this annoying?
Happens not only in this, but in many many concerts I gave where you just have a little pause in a piece or a song, and the movement and cadence go somewhere else people start clapping and then realize it's not over smh
Tim, the tenor, held the last note for around 20-25 seconds, which sounds difficult, but because he was most likely anchoring and applying proper belting techniques the task was much simpler for him.
Hey man, if you dislike it, why say anything at all? Since you clearly have no frame of reference for understanding or appreciating what it takes to put together a difficult arrangement like this, spare yourself some dignity and leave commenting to those who actually enjoy the hobby. Thanks.
These guys are great. Who ever the guy is on the left is awesome. I wish I could get these guys to come and sing at the next revival at my church. Very cool song by the way.
Is this like the Barbershop version of Chuck Norris jokes? HAHA!!! I wonder... Tim Waurick was once trapped underwater for 6 days without breathing and on the 7th day he rested. That lake is now known as Harmony Lake in Pennsylvania. Many barbershoppers still make the pilgrimage to the place where Harmony was born.
First time hearing this, and after listening to the tag, I had to repeat it to see where Tim caught a breath...28 seconds...what a post! (ps...I knew he could compete with "The Lung", and no, I didn't think he caught a breath either..lol)
@DKTHOMP93 Be there live and you'll realize that sometimes when a world class quartet locks up, and the hair on the back of your neck starts to tingle, you just start standing and clapping involuntarily...Can't really explain it better than that.....but I know what you mean.
Litterly no one: Tim Waurick: FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
@viesca91 In barbershop, the parts are bass, baritone, lead, and tenor. It is similar but not identical to a standard/classical setup, but the vocal ranges of each of the parts are different (vs. the operatic scale). Barbershop is all about creating a blend--a single, unison voice--and if any of them backed away from the mic it would detract from the sound of the quartet. Vocal Spectrum is also well known for featuring their baritone and tenor on melody lines, so those two often step forward.
Jacob, if you are in fact doing a school project, I would suggest both reading Four Parts No Waiting by Dr. Gage Averill (an ethnomusicology study of the barbershop style) and watch the documentary film American Harmony. It is clear that you do not have anything approaching an understanding of either the musical style nor the Barbershop Harmony Society organization. If you have questions, all you have to do is ask.
@agoodfriend99 that my friend is Tim Waurick, I am willing to put my house on the fact he is the best tenor barbershop has seen and will never be beat.
It's fun to watch Tim Waurick pretend that it's difficult
You forgot the words "for him" in the end of the sentence. Cause it really is difficult, not to him though. The guy has an incredible vocal range and can hold tags for really long time.
I could literally watch this every day for the rest of my life and it would not get old.
Lol
Tim Waurick once won a chorus competition by himself. He scored a 96.3.
Some say he has a 3rd arm underneath his beard
One of the greatest quartets of ALL TIME
Haha y’all crack me up Tim is a human bag of unlimited air and range of voice. He could of held the note even longer but everyone else ran outta breath 😂😂..

@@lifeontheledgerlines8394 Actually that was Jakob (Both are awesome anyways) :)
@@airhead1118 Oops, you're right! And yeah, they're both great on lead and tenor, which is extremely impressive
the quality of sound that your camera is able to record is GOD TIER
Tim: *leans head forward, blinks a lot*
Me: Oh crap here we go...
How I wish people could refrain themselves from applauding on the last chord. It must be pretty hard not to do it though, just watching this video had me jumping on my seat. Amazing
Oh... My... Gosh....how did he not pass out from holding that last note for so long... EPIC AWESOMENESS!!!!!
I noticed that Tim never blinks, maybe he is breathing through his eyes, that would explain a lot.
John Townsend He's definitely an alien.
It's like circular breathing for grownups
He only ever blinks at the beginning of a long note...several times it seems 2:23
@@benevans128 that's how he gathers air for the long notes...
I'm sorry but he blinked like 30 times during the post
1:23 that specific "shigidibop bop" makes shivers trail down my spine man...
"As a human I enjoy vocalizing at many different frequencies in rapid succession with my human voice and also in combining my vocalizations in different harmonic permutations with the simultaneous vocalizations of several of my fellow humans." - Tim Waurick
Where did he say this? Lol
Whenever Jonny gets a solo, he just makes the song SO MUCH better than it already is.

Eric is one of my favorite leads… just brilliant and I love how lightly he hits those high notes and doesn't overpower them
If these guys went on a singing/talent competition (sing-off, america's got talent, what have you) they would clear the field easy. The world needs to see this level of our hobby. This is a secret way too good to keep!
I just watched this a ton of times and tried singing the tenor's last note, and I almost did it, but then I passed out almost.
ERIC'S VOICE MAKES ME MELT INTO A PUDDLE OF HAPPINESS AND LOVE!!
I didn't even see him breathe before the note
Haha, 2:02 is exactly why Eric is a gold medalist and I will never be one-that is just a ridiculous re-entry. Oh, the rest of the performance was good too, if you're into "ringing chords."
Loved it all.... ringing chords and the whole shebang!!!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbershop_music#Ringing_chords
You'll win one day bro! Lets win it together ;)
If you're into that sort of thing, lol.
Oh my God amazing!!!! what a wonderful group! and the last maintained note!
How can you not listen to this and smile? Great singing and wonderful showmanship. These guys are amazing!
They are one of the goat quartets. I got to meet them, and it was one of the best days of my life. I love how when Tim posts, that’s almost all you can hear, what a beast.
No other quartet will ever do it this good. Done.
すごい!聴いてて楽しくなるね!
AWESOME!!! I love barbershop style music!
I didnt think a 30 sec note was humanly possible. I WAS WRONG. WOW!!!! Incredible!
That note though, I would enjoy having the breath support Tim waurick has.
That ending tag made the hairs of my arms stand up! Looooooved it!

*jaw drops* i love the old time classic sound instead of the pop crap you here all the time!

Omg Tim kills it, Vocal Spectrum is my favorite shop!!!!! (:
Awesome job by this group! I saw the Dapper Dans perform this rendition live at Disneyland Anaheim
Love that it's actually Eric and not Tim who cuts of the last chord! Amazing live performance.
Awesome harmonies!!
OH MY GOD THEY ARE PERFECTION AT IT'S FINEST!!!!!!
omg... He holded that note for so long!! That was epic!!

Yes, it's extremely annoying.

I'd have to say im guilty of this, I sometimes just get too excited and have to force myself to stop applauding. However, I agree it is annoying
It's actually totally disrespect. But nobody learns respect anymore.
I find it annoying. But that is not a recent tradition.
THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!
He held that note longer than the time it takes to drain the air out of my truck tires.
Aquaman is so impressed by Tim Wauricks breath support that he now has a pair of Tim Waurick pajamas!!
The whole performance was ear candy! But I have to say arrangement and message marry @2:30! That is what makes my life worth living.
Tim, the tenor, held the last note for around 20-25 seconds, which sounds difficult, but because he was most likely anchoring and applying proper belting techniques the task was much simpler for him.

Oh my gosh lol
Why is not Tim Waurick not a world famous tenor? He could sing Bach, Mozart, Schubert, broadway anything!
First time hearing this, and after listening to the tag, I had to repeat it to see where Tim caught a breath...28 seconds...what a post! (ps...I knew he could compete with "The Lung", and no, I didn't think he caught a breath either..lol)
This is my new favorite thing in the world...
This is some strong piece of work
One of my favorites. As a tenor myself, I aspire to a 25-second post. One day... *sigh*
Amazing
dang this is crazy clean...wonder what they would score in today's competition
Even though it's been 10 years since they won, I bet if Vocal Spectrum put a year's work into a contest set they could hit 95-96%
I think I have watched this video at least 25 times this week. haha Love it!
thanks =3 these guys r great!
Ladies and gentlemen, presenting Tim Waurick! (oh yeah, and Vocal Spectrum too) Just kidding, all four of you are awesome!!!
i love these guys so much
the end of this makes my face and lungs melt every single time. I die. how is this possible.
Yea! Thank you SO much
this. group. is. HYPER-awesome!!!!!!!
WHY CAN'T I STOP LISTENING TO THIS?
Yes!!!! This is awesome
It doesn't get any better than this
Who is the genious that wrote this arrangement? Fantastic singers and a fantastic performance! My respect for you guys
Aaron Dale
This is truly my favorite barbershop video on youtube.
Well done lads.
Thought the fella on the left would turn blue at the end !!!
Great job.
Liverpool UK.
I shat my pants when I heard that tag!!! Awesome, and epic to hear something "new", not the same old chord progressions.
This is my favorite!!
I really tried to do that long note with the guy but I could not I was able to do it until the other guys joined back in with him
wooow !!! Tim really holds that last note!! Amazing no female barbershopper could come close to this, wish i could though haa
This is so good! Vocal Spectrum are the masters!
Wow, they are having fun!
Amazing!
That was awesome!
You guys are great!!!
this is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!!!!
I love the Illinois colors Lads!
Omg that last tone! o_o how the heck does he hold it for so long???
I honestly love this so much. ^-^
Awesome! ...and Tim... you blow, buddy! You're incredible! Thanks, =3!
Five years removed from winning gold, and their sound only gets cleaner and tighter. GO VS!!
OH GOOD LORD! It might actually be the best tag ever! What a song! What a quartet! Thanks for posting! I literally can't wait for their new album now!
Flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Super Timmy Waurick!
Tim's last note was sick!!,how did he hold the note that long?
Probably magic.
with a good technique, practice and genetics
20-25 seconds
Umm...yeah, actually, That's one heck of a long note!
Mark C Wobil He held that note so long that jesus was able to die, come back three days later and take his voice to heaven with him.. hot dayum.
Awesome
Dude sang that final note for 27 seconds. 😮😮😮
That harmony tho😍
thanx for your upload!
