Totally unique soul and musician. He has been a major part of my life ever since his first records. I was blessed to catch their tour in 2014, the last time I saw Jeff live, which began in 1976 (!) Mountain Winery in Saratoga. Jeff played first then Z.Z., and he came out like here at the end of their set. Once in a lifetime ✨️ Jeff Beck is forever! 🕉 guitar 🎸 virtuoso.
There are other guitarists I love to listen to including Alvin Lee but JB is the absolute pinnacle of touch, tone, and technique- not my quote but it’s true. He makes that Strat talk and bring you to your knees with it.
This song was the perfect vehicle for Jeff Beck to casually do his thing… Billy Gibbons set the tone, and Jeff Beck added his own fingerprint towards the end. 👍❤️
I saw him rip a solo on Barbara Ann on a double bill with Brian Wilson...it was so great all I could do was laugh. It was insane, especially considering the one on the recording.
@@gearmeister they were brothers, loved and respected each other. I know they had big fun touring together! I saw them in 2014 @ Mountain Winery in Saratoga. The best. Cheers 🎉 🎸
AGREED! I think "Wired" is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE Albums - Desert Island material for sure... And I'm a BIG Page/Zep Fan. I NEVER TIRE of listening to "Wired" - sublime.
Jeff Beck, dated his wife Sandras sister for yrs, lovely guy, stayed over at his house, a true gentleman, i held that fender he is playing with. Like me a massive Rockabilly Fan, Jeffs a Gene Vincent fanatic

I knew of Jeff Beck in the 90s, never really cared of his playing untill I heard a song where he used the vibrato arm like he started usin a lot in the 90s!just the little bend at 3.53 minute mark is soo soulful!
Agreed! And my favorite tune from them, too. An underrated classic of a song, and it's underplayed on today's crappy, corporate controlled radio stations.
I saw Jeff in Greensburg Pa of all places..in a 1000 seat theater in probably 2015...the last stop b4 he joined up with ZZ Top to make up some cancelled dates down south..it was an amazing show..my bucket list gift from the gods..it was a New York moment it a lonely small town in Pennsylvania. Thats how powerful that man and his talent was..
Nicely put. I agree 👍 💯 % !!! Guitar 🎸 virtuoso's I saw them in 2014 at Mountain Winery in Saratoga. The best, pure beauty and life energy! We're blessed by music, always 🙏
Geeezzz!!! They were just smashing it there. 2 legendary guys putting their hearts into this fabulous song. It hits me hard that the world lost Jeff Beck last night. Fly on with that white Fender playing your way to Heaven dear Jeff.
He truly is humble and the most genuine person …nothing but respect for Jeff, but the crazy thing is…Billy has those same characteristics and values …almost like a “bearded twin” brother😅
Absolutely - the two greatest for me - such great feel both of them and fantastic to see Jeff playing so beautifully and looking to Billy for his cues!
So absolutely devastated by the loss of the great Jeff Beck. A genius on the guitar, unique, and to me the greatest guitarist of all time. So difficult to process this sad news. Sending loads of love to Sandra, family, friends and millions of fans. Johnny, you lost a brother and close friend, my heart goes out to you, this is so painful. Jeff we will always miss you.
I was eleven years old (1977) and about five pals and I finagled tickets to see Rick Derringer, Jeff Beck/Jan Hammer, and Aerosmith here in Seattle at the now vaporized Kingdome. Unforgettable.
Rough Boy was never a so-called "hit" but IMO one of the best blues songs by anyone. And while Jeff is no longer with us and Billy's solo on this song has been a soulful classic all along, their two solos are so complementary. And personally, the mere fact that Jeff chose to play this particular song is a confirmation that it's a great one.
beck's solo is one of the greatest i have ever heard. i listened to this song from another show and he played it completely different. if he improvised this, i don't know what to say. RIP
@@tersan8547 I noticed that too, one of the worst snare tones I’ve heard, toms sound like a muddled mess, cymbals even sounded like crap. Thinking a lot of it has to do with mic placement and drum mix🤷♂️
@@brad8189 He uses triggers. He's been doing it since the 80's and I think he still uses the same ones now as he did back then. At least it sounds that way. First generation trigger sound with absolutely zero dynamic range. Someone should tell him that it sounds absolutely terrible. It's hard to believe if someone hasn't. Also, someone should tell him he doesn't need a drum kit the size of an aircraft carrier to play in ZZ-top. It looks absolutely stupid. He would do just fine with a four piece kit. But..... he's probably just trying to compensate for the fact that he's a lousy drummer.
Frank Beard has such a nice groove. Jeff Beck absolute legend from Yardbirds to Beck, Bogart, Appice to Jeff Beck group and Billy is no slouch on the guitar either.
😎👍✝️Rest easy Jeff, we definitely will miss you. Thank you for sharing your talents with this world! Have fun jammimg with Jimi, Moonie, Bonzo, Jaco, Cozy, Peart, etc...
love how billy let mr beck do his thing like billy was knowing mr beck time was coming soon thank you for your great music mr beck it helpt me alot !!!!!
I cried when Jeff started playing his solo. This dude was an alien, nobody could touch him, neither Jimi, Jimmy, Eric nor anyone. RIP Jeff & Dusty.

If you have Jeff Beck on the Song it enters an new realm of greatness
Beck is one of the biggest monsters on guitar but I've always been a big fan of the Reverend Billy G, even though I'm from Texas

Jeff Beck can say more in four notes than most guitarists can in four hundred
Yeah, tell that to Malmsteen. Malmsteen thinks more is always more. Much prefer Becks soulful playing.
@ Kevin agreed about Jeff Beck
He says Cage a lot .

Jeff is in heaven now. But if you listen you can still hear him play as the wind wisps by. His genius playing will never leave your mind.
Perfect ZZ tune for Beck’s mastery.
Rest in piece Jeff Beck one of the greatest guitarists in the world

No matter how old you get, Jeff still loves to play guitar!
Even Billy had to look over to Jeff marveling at the great guitar solo. Jeff Beck still so relevant with his playing.
Such a loss to the music world ........ R.I.P...... JEFF !!!!
Wasnt' that awesome. Big smile on his face.
Beck is so freakin' smooth and effortless. It's like he's just imagining the notes. A class unto himself...

Well done, Mr. Gibbons! Always give an extra chorus to Jeff Beck, he never fails to blow our minds.

So huge performance ! What a great idea to invite Jeff Beck. Thank Billy for this initiative !!!

What’s the subject. I’d always assumed it was someone with rough stubble on their chin.
