    SO EXCITED!!!! From the moment I saw this sweater on your podcast I couldn’t wait! Now mind you I have only knit 2 sweaters but I am casting on this one right away! It is one of the most beautiful cabled sweaters I have ever seen! And Amy in her sweater is stunning!

    Your Dornie is perfect, divine! I even have some West Yorkshire Spinners in my stash… although the DK. I wonder if I can get gauge with a mohair I have as well. Just finishing a sleeve for my husband’s sweater, then will make a swatch. 🎉

    That lace cardi looks great--and a V-neck is a super idea. Will be on the lookout for the test call 🤞🏼I love the "sad beige community 😂 but that yarn and color look quite cozy! Thanks for the episode and congrats on the Dornie release!

    I’m casting on the Dornie as well! I just love the all over cable pattern! I was inspired by the wonderful photos to go for a bright teal colour!

    For your blanket you should check out the slip stitch join to join squares together ! It's really easy and beautiful, I just finished a blanket with it.

    I'm so glad I found you here! Love your work ! Just purchased 2 of your patterns and plan to get the other on the near future. I would love to test knit for you at some point in the future if you are in need. I'm binge watching all your podcast and just love it. Keep up the great work!!! Can't wait for the next episode.

    I am so ridiculously excited that this pattern launched!!! I’ve been in search of a cabled sweater and this is the answer. You rock! Sending tons of love(and my money) from California ❤❤❤

    Love your Corran Carrie - I want to knit it now. Might put in for the test, I’ve nearly finished my Lanark with only about 10cm left on the body. You are right the construction is magic. I am doing one for Anna from the Bluebird Box as well but it’s a quick knit. Oh so many projects to cast on and so little time!!! Would like to make the cables too but will probably hack it to a cardigan (unless you have plans to release a cardie version???) Love your patterns Rebecca, congratulations on the new release. Also love the Edinburgh finished garment pics, good memories from when I was there in 2017.

    I've been binging your podcasts and this sweater looks so amazing. I've only ever knit a scarf (I'm an advanced crocheter, brand new knitter) but now I feel like I need to knit a basic sweater just so I can be prepared to knit one of these!

    • @AMFibers
      @AMFibers ปีที่แล้ว

      I always find it fascinating to hear knitters talk about crochet and call it slow. It is sooooo much faster than knitting. When I was learning to crochet, I made a scarf in less than a week. The first (and only) scarf I've knit took at least twice as long. 😅 But the first blanket I crocheted was a granny square blanket and it was so fun. Can't wait to see your progress!

    Rebecca, Thank you for the code to get a little off your new pattern! It is a beauty! Yet looks achievable for even an advanced beginner! Cable but not fussy! Love that! Do to the rikishi mail strike getting woolly knit yarn has been challenging. But I still want a cone of “Harvest” mmmmmmm. Take care, hugs, ClaudiaSJI

    I was so excited to see your Dornie pattern on Rav that I picked it up before I watched this episode! It's gorgeous and I cannot wait to find a yarn for it. I really want it in a pretty tweed. There's something about tweed cables that I just can't get enough of.

    I already grabbed a my copy of the Dornie, I have some beautiful green yarn that I hope will work for it. Also, I love the Corran, I need a short-sleeve, round-neck version of it for this summer to wear over my binder.

  • @TheElliephant89

    That sounds like a very nice blanket. I have to be honest I was originally a crocheter and I have never made a full blanket of squares or hexes that needed putting together.
    I get on much better with stripes, so I cast on the chain for the size I want then just work through the yarn until it's the right size or until I run out. If you don't get on with the pattern you plan to try then I recommend attic24 blog for blanket patterns. They are fool proof and have pictures and written instructions.

    I can’t wait to knit this! See where it says about “measuring the gauge in cable pattern”, how would you recommend going about knitting a gauge swatch? Would you knit the middle part of the chart? Thanks so much 😊

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a little note in the pattern (I think page 3) that says which chart to use for the gauge swatch!

    Tiny piece of uninvited advice…Sorry it’s none of my business, but it might help????….. As a long-term crocheter, newbie knitter…. Making and joining crochet squares results in loads of ends in my opinion - I hate ends!!! - caused some of my blankets to take 4 years!!!😂.
    Striped blankets - create much less ends AND you could spit splice, also creates a denser fabric which might suit your weighted blanket idea?
    Loving your work - pondering a Dornie cast on….. (after my current WIPS are complete!!! Obvs)

    Have to say I laughed out loud when you held up that Wooly Knit 800g hank 😂 but a weighted blanket sounds wonderful.
    Regarding the lace cardigan would a cotton Merino be an option?

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cotton merino would be absolutely perfect

  • @aprilg3193

    Do you find Woolyknit Merino cones as rustic as Holst Supersoft or slightly less rustic? I don’t think I can handle anything next to skin more rustic than Holst so don’t want to commit to cones if I won’t ever wear what I knit!

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I find the merino much softer. And the 4ply about the same. The merino has 0 prickle/itch factor to me, but it's not got that super soft feeling of superwash merino

    What is the main difference between the Lento and others like the Simple Something or the No frills ?

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the gauge is the biggest difference. It's only 15 stitches per 10cm so much more airy that the others.
