  • I talk about my experience with this channel and other experiences I've had in content creation, my struggles regarding it currently and what I think the appropiate solutions are. I'd love for any feedback on this matter too in the comments.

    I can just speak for myself. But I enjoy English-speaking Dofus Content. I am from Germany and played Dofus waaaay back in 2009-2012. Just lately me and my friends picked it up again and sadly there aren't many English-speaking Dofus channels out there.
    I'll support you in any case ^^

    watching what would essentialy be a VOD of a MMORPG sounds like despair, no matter the game, dofus specially doesn't have that many non french active playerbase. Having said that, I get super excited to watch endgame montages or compilations from people who don't even speak in the videos (Volcasaurus and the like)

    "I kinda value my mental health" proceeds to go balls deep into Dofus 😂

    Unfortunately, Dofus was never good choice for content creation, especially on the EN side. The most searched videos (base on my view) are guides, tutorials and such. We can't even compare games like LoL and Stelaris to Dofus. Dofus is like 0,00000000001%. Regarding the Essay.. We need to remember that people these days have really, really bad attention span. We scroll through yt shorts / tiktoks like crazy. If the video is a bit longer, we tend to just click away. It might be a good idea to make additional alternate version in form of shorter videos. (or we should all give in and learn French >.

    Just my 2 cents. Long form content for Dofus might not be performing well because it's a more passive game. Also viewers who would be interested in it would be either people who currently play the game or have played it in the past. In the former case, they would simply rather play the game and progress themselves rather than watch it be played for 45min - 1hr. Given the game is natively French, informational content like guides, news and update discussions tend to perform better in my opinion. For short form content, PvP and end game dungeon content seems like what viewers gravitate to.

    I only know of your main channel with Stellaris and this channel, I have read much about stress about content creation. I would suggest to keep this channel with long plays or just unedited content, and have your main channel for edited content. You could even source main channel video from this channel, so kind of like "Here is it the short version, if you would like to see the longer video you can go here instead". Of course, you could also do this with just a single channel.
    I would recommend against deleting a channel because spam bots will just come up and take it and put up whatever content, basically to take over channels and links. You can have a link from one channel to another with the "recommended channels" section.

    Dofus is decently popular here in France. Most people here at least know what it is, but it's still niche especially compared to other long-lasting mmos, courtesy of it being a flash game for... too long.

    Look what you’ve said about some of this stuff is true but all I want to say is that you never needed a second channel for any of this stuff. TH-cam works on an individual video basis meaning there is no such thing as “channel brand”. You are right that you can’t just upload vods and hope people watch. But what matters is being able to tell a good story and making better content. You’d be surprised as to how much control you have in the content you make. As long you’re able to take a step back and see what needs to change then it becomes easier. I swear to you I fully believe you can make any video about literally any niche and people will watch as long as you’re willing to engage with people and tell a good story.

      I kinda disagree. TH-cam does kinda work on an individual video basis but only so much.
      TH-cam will take all of your videos as a whole to gather information about who would be interested in your videos.
      If you make 100 gaming videos and then 1 cooking video, TH-cam will recommend that video to gamers and when it performs poorly, they’ll assume it’s a bad video

    • @luckdeep7438
      @luckdeep7438 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@purpleboy4949 Nope, that’s not true. You’re only thinking in the sense of subscribers. You forget that there’s also the home page, suggested and search where your videos are being pushed. The TH-cam algorithm works in a way where you can do whatever niche you want as long as you find something unique within that niche and capitalize on it. Plus there are certain things you can do on your own front in the TH-cam studio that allow you to make content in other niches.
      TL;DR: don’t just think with just subscribers but rather the ENTIRE platform

    • @purpleboy4949
      @purpleboy4949 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@luckdeep7438 yes but TH-cam suggests your videos to subscribers and previous viewers first. Then they take that information and decide if they should push it further. If the video has a 1% ctr, TH-cam’s not going to push it further.

    • @luckdeep7438
      @luckdeep7438 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@purpleboy4949 You don’t have to make your TH-cam video go to your subs first. In fact you can just change a setting when uploading your video and it goes straight to search, home page and suggested. Getting views isn’t reliant on your subscribers or a niche. It’s all on the content you make.
