    • @rebchizelbeak5392
      @rebchizelbeak5392 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

      Unfortunately, training to failure is typically not as effective as RIR with more times a week training.
      The app showed 2RIR as the goal, and drop sets to failure aren’t that.
      This was part for the video, and part a once a week training.
      Note: killing your arms like this can stunt other exercises in following days. This has to be done in a planned way

    • @nomongosinthaworld
      @nomongosinthaworld 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      It’s not as black or white as that. You can absolutely train to failure often and frequently as long as your volume within one session is kept relatively low. It also varies from muscle to muscle as the biceps for example recover rather quickly for most people. If you’re not training them more than twice a week, it wouldn’t be a problem to go this hard either because with smart arranging of your sessions you’ll still likely have enough time to recover.

      Yes because technique is a very small part of the hypertrophy equation. Important, worthwhile, but not necessarily going to hold you back alone (unless you injure yourself) if you have the genetics, recovery, diet, all in check, and then on top of that you are enhanced. Having good technique doesn't mean you get big, having good technique means your more resilient to injury, and marginally you might have a small improvement in hypertrophy.

    I listened to the talk on sports training and was wondering if you'd consider doing sport-specific training discussions? For instance, I still play competitive tennis in the USTA and would like some insight into a good workout program in-season (most of the year) and off-season (typically only 2 mos) to maintain and improve strength, explosiveness, and endurance that also allows for on-court practice time. I'm sure others would appreciate sport-specific videos too.
    Thoughts?

    When you train a certain way for decades, doing something new like RP training can become hard. This slow thing is a cultural shock for a lot of lifters.

      LOL so in another words - training hard is a shock to a lot of lifters?

      @vladislavhosek1383 In other words, any time we introduce a different type of stimulus its a shock to our bodies and is especially difficult at first.

    That was tough to watch, as he just wasn't following the simple instructions and just acted as if he knew better and can do whatever he wants.
    I doubt he'll actually do the myoreps in his own training. He might do his own version of them, but they definitely won't be proper form.
    Well done to Mike and Jared for their patience with this guy.

      The thing is, he can do whatever he wants ELSEWHERE. He could have cancelled the shoot. He could have not gone. He could have lied. He could have invented an excuse. He could have executed poorly and asked if he's doing it well or not. The only thing he shouldn't do is what he did.

    Big props to you both for guiding as best you can 😂 this reminds me of training certain children that haven't engaged in hard sport/lack kinaesthetic awareness, oh and the ability to listen for 3 seconds🤦‍♂️. Just goes to show that genetics, consistency & drugs are the 3 great equalisers🙏

    Everyone is bagging Craig but I can give him some slack. Craig is the definition of “use hella gear, eat crazy, and do junk volume”. He’s obviously genetically blessed and works for him. This type of working out absolutely shocked him as you could see the first workout had him bent over sweating like crazy. I used to be same as Craig doing bullshit but started watching Mike and first time I applied his techniques I thought I was gonna die during the time under tension where I would just stare at the floor between sets 😂 so I feel Craig’s pain
