It's simply schizophrenic to me, seeing such an educated, well-spoken, smart an funny man (a professor of health basically) being on tons of potentially lethal gear, having to counter balance the side effects with more medication, while saying he wishes things were different. You do have a choice, brother.
It's all about looking good on stage and on Instagram. Steroids, TRT, Synthol etc. You have to do whatever it takes. Side effects like shrunken testicles, infertility, enlarged organs and possibly dying younger are a small price to pay. 🤷♂️
What a lot of people don't understand is that at the end of the day bodybuilding is both a sport and an art. And those who become serious about it - give everything to it. Competitive bodybuilders have a closer mindset to a ballerina hell bent on becoming a primary at a company than probably any other art / sport. Both torture their bodies for their art to an extreme level - both know that this could significantly shorten their life spans, negatively impact health and well-being now and in the future and the impact of their art can have really detrimental effect in mid and old age. Both are insanely focused on body form, conforming to body standards and both require hours of training and dedication, laser focus and an almost obsessive love for their kraft. That being said - for competitive body builders it is difficult to get far in the sport anymore without steroids - even after you go off of them you are more or less permanently primed above what you would have been if you never took them before. So not taking them, means you are probably not going to be able to compete seriously. They say don't take them, because they are very easy to obtain, and there are a lot of people who think that they can just wade in and take them with no negative effects. Of course there are going to be people who still say - I will take them any way. But at least being honest about the side effects is going to discourage some of the people on the fence.
I liked the vibes on this. It reminded me of when i first got into the gym in 2016/17. I would watch these types of vids from the fitness youtubers of those days, trying to get ideas. How I miss those times, the exciting first days of my bodybuilding journey…
I’m honestly a little surprised by the cereal post-workout. There are definitely better options and there’s so much bullshit in cereal… That said, the transparency and realness is really appreciated. Especially discussing what you also take to counteract the gear you’re on. HUGE respect for that!! Your transparency in general is extremely respectable!
You do get that even in bodybuilding prep not everyone is Jay Cutler and some people will eat to... enjoy things? Enjoy life? He said he likes it, that's why it's there. If you wanted to minmax it all then you should also jump on the chicken thighs, breasts are lower in fat!
yeah as he says about fitness stuff the research on this is becoming more and more clear, including things like microplastics and PFAS. the standard in 50 years will be back to 19th century materials for food packaging and cookware - glass, paper, fabric. the exception is stainless steel.
@RenaissancePeriodization Question for Dr.Mike: from screenshot at 0:07 it seems you sleep 10h, is that everyday? is it a prep thing? Thanks! Good bits of info from this kind of videos, appreciate it 👍
Question 2: in another video you recommend slow-digesting proteins in the last meal before sleeping, but those yogurts have whein protein. Did you change your mind? Is it some timing adjustment? Please don't kill me, sincere question ❤

@@TokyoSwan. Never had them. Used to have a lot of protein bars. Now it's just a lot of meat lol
@@TokyoSwan. Not the puff ones (regarding 4 net carbs). They are delicious though.
I liked the vibes on this. It reminded me of when i first got into the gym in 2016/17. I would watch these types of vids from the fitness youtubers of those days, trying to get ideas. How I miss those times, the exciting first days of my bodybuilding journey…
Really high quality video, I’d definitely watch more of these vlog style videos
8:12 His dog looks a little too much him.
man, this shits crazy, now that I am out of the bodybuilding life, this shit is straight depressing slop lol
Normies start at 3:23
Love the honesty.
I’m honestly a little surprised by the cereal post-workout. There are definitely better options and there’s so much bullshit in cereal…
That said, the transparency and realness is really appreciated. Especially discussing what you also take to counteract the gear you’re on. HUGE respect for that!!
Your transparency in general is extremely respectable!
Bullshit? You mean the added vitamins and minerals? It's not whole food, but there are far worse options he could have chosen.
@@caitzs you mean the very low quality synthetic vitamins that companies add to cereal to make it so they don’t have to say just “flour and sugar”?
You do get that even in bodybuilding prep not everyone is Jay Cutler and some people will eat to... enjoy things? Enjoy life? He said he likes it, that's why it's there. If you wanted to minmax it all then you should also jump on the chicken thighs, breasts are lower in fat!
I wouldn't microwave in plastic. You should know better doctor
yeah as he says about fitness stuff the research on this is becoming more and more clear, including things like microplastics and PFAS. the standard in 50 years will be back to 19th century materials for food packaging and cookware - glass, paper, fabric. the exception is stainless steel.
Nothing like having the gym all to yourself..home gym goals
I fucking love this guy.. lol. I wish I was as comfortable with my myself as he is. His weirdness shows through his personality and he owns it. Been addicted to your videos lately my guy
Seriously one of the worst diets I’ve ever seen.😮
If I ate that many carbs I would be a fat fuck
Can’t stop looking at his clubbed fingers now after Greg 😂😂😂
thanks for letting us behind the curtain Dr. Mike
Having everything onsite is so clutch. You earned it brother, congrats
Is this 9:45 the lovely wife you always talk about?❤
