Yeah the Skaven were responsible for Nagash’s first death as the Lich King. Nagash had built his fortress atop Cripple Peak, which was a massive Resevoir of Warpstone, and it drew the Skavens attention as they fought for 100 years to take the fortress and didn’t get very far given the enemy is undead and can just endlessly ressurect. Spies from Clan Eshin found out that Nagash had recently acquired a single prisoner in his fortress - The Nehekharan King Alcadizzar - and that Nagash himself was now dormant after completing a massive ritual that raised a continent sized army of undead that was now marching south to Cripple Peak. The Skaven decided they needed to kill Nagash now as surely the Skaven would be next after the vast army of undead wiped out the surface world, so they had a weapon made, forged of pure Warpstone, it’s blade soaked in the vilest of poisons, inlaid with spells of doom that to merely read them was to instantly kill you…even though just merely wielding the sword would garuntee your death on how dangerous it was. A device was fitted to the pommel so the Lords Of Decay could channel power to the wielder, which was Alcadizzar as the Skaven broke him out of prison and left the sword in his cell. Alcadizzar made his way to Nagash’s throne room where the Lich King narrowly deflected a strike from the sword as he roused himself out of his dormancy. He fired a bolt of eldritch power at Alcadizzar, who blocked it, with 2 of the Lords Of Decay dying on the spot protecting thier pawn. Alcadizzar chopped Nagash to pieces and then dropped the blade as he wandered off, rambling incoherently as the Skaven retrieved the sword and destroyed all the pieces of Nagash save for one of his hands. Years later, Nagash would return and single handedly take back his fortress and annihilate the Skaven clan who now dwelt in it. Due to him being considerably weaker than he was before however, and that most of the Warpstone had now been mined from Cripple Peak, the Skaven decided to leave Nagash alone.

When Norsca raided nehekhara, a chieftain of norsca stole settra's crown and in a move that surprised no one settra marched the deathless legions to the frozen north to reclaim what was rightfully his. Nowhere is out of reach for settra as he does not serve!
@sherlocksmuuug6692 More like Settra the Untaxable. Tax-evader meant he needed to evade tax because of fear or cowardice. And that's not how Settra does it.
Honestly, when I first read about the Age of Sigmar setting in the core book... I liked it. Then I started learning more about the Old World and how it actually felt more like a breathing fantasy setting. My friend was a huge fan of the Brettonians and I find myself liking a bunch of the Old World factions myself.
25:04 Your sentiment here, more than anything, applied to any faction or even the setting as a whole, accurately sums up why fans of Warhammer Fantasy were, and in many cases still remain, exceedingly pissed about the entire setting getting cancelled. This is also why some proportion of fans remain highly skeptical of GW suddenly deciding the 40K timeline is now allowed to advance after twenty years of effective stasis. At any moment they could decide they're bored, kill the setting, and decide to start over with a replacement. On a similar note, there's no small amount of irony that the end of the setting came about right around the time Total War Warhammer came out and drove a massive spike in interest. Seems a bit like shooting the horse before you load your wagon and take the crops to market, imo.
Well its a good things on the 20th of this month Warhammer the old world comes out, I have my Bretonnian army box pre-orders and tomb kings are the other one. This includes a new undead dragon for the tomb kings and the return of Settra.
If you want to hear about why the tombkings were removed and what happened to the original fantasy setting Pancreas has a video called ‘Making Warhammer Fantasy’s End Times “Better.”’
Prepare to yell at your screen. GW is probably one of the most tonedeaf companies when it comes to listening to their fanbase. The end time almost ended Warhammer both in lore and reality. Writers so bad they make the last season of Game of Thrones look decent.
@@TheLegitWeebs I only found out about warhammer a few years after endtimes myself, but apparently at the time the fantasy warhammer players were thinking it meant a new edition or a progression in the story, only to realize that with each book the Warhammer world was ending!
@@jefrosiers8880 I thought at the time it meant a "historical" warhammer fantasy spin off in the same vein as the Horus Heresy game for warhammer 40k. My disappointment was immeasurable, and may day was, in fact, ruined.
You have to watch his end times video. The End Times was basically GW killing the fantasy setting. As they didn't know what to do with it so they decided to kill the world and every character in the End Times scenario, where chaos led by Archeon invaded the Old World for the final time and destroyed it. The end. So yeah, that's why there hasn't been any new lore for fantasy, it's because GW literally decided to kill it off and replace it with the Age of Sigmar.
And the “new” old world is that world a few hundred years before the end times, so it’s still doomed but they can ignore that and let people enjoy the setting
What i really love about the tomb kings over other undead factions like the Vampire counts is that all of their soldiers still pretty much have all their memories, emotions and personalities intact. Theyre all pretty much just regular dudes discount being mostly walking skeletons now. Unlike the Vampire counts where most of their armies are just literal mindless walking corpses having their strings pulled by a Necromancer or Vampire lord. It gives us kind if a window for us to empathize with the Tomb Kings compared to the Vampire Counts.
(In my opinion, based on what happens in the books, and not what is said directly) It's not quite that they keep all of their memories, minds, etc. intact. It's more so that they partially keep their will on death, and act in accordance to it. The stronger your will, the more of your mind, memories, etc. remains. Because of that, since pretty much everyone has some kind of will or strong conviction, most nehekarans have between 60%-90% of themselves still in them. Those with stronger power also tend to be more conscious than others, which just so happens to scale up with the strength of their will. That is my headcannon for why there are prectically no undead babies or children. Afterall, they've barely lived, so it's highly likely they didn't have enough will (or memories, for that matter) to remain sentient, even if they managed to survive Nagash's stuff. Then again, It's not stated anywhere explicitly. (From what I remember. couldn't say for sure it was mentioned or not. Hence the reason for which this whole comment is weirdly phrased, and should not be taken as true information)
Greatest Minds of the Imperium: What could the tyranids be running from What the tyranids are running from: Also number 1; *all* the factions got axed after Endtimes. Only some truly come back and fewer unchanged. And number 2; I don’t think Settra is fully dead, he’s just taking a walk, and very enthusiastic walk.
Yup, after EoT GW sacked the Tomb Kings. Why? Well... lore wise I guess it is because now Nagash rules over all undeads with his faithful mortarchs as underlings and he was too pissed with Settra to even try to bring him back (again, I'm just guessing here). On the Tabletop front however... I guess it's because the vast majority of the miniature range was either too old (some molds were DECADES old and, quite frankly, rather goofy) or too generic... after EoT GW debuted Age of Sigmar, in which most factions got a visual upgrade so people couldn't go and buy minis from less expensive producer to prox their units: -wood elves pretty much lost the elves part and went full on dryad and treeman (something I really loved but... yeah) -Empire, Bretonnia and so on became the Stormcast Eternals (basically Space Marines made of living lightning wearing golden armor) -the orks became steroid addicts And the Tomb Kings... disappeared... until years later GW introduced the Ossiarch Bonereapers to kinda "fill the spot"... still not TK (loyal to Nagash) but they are the new "army of skeletons"... except the skeletons are more like humans made of bones... and not in the "well, duh" sort of way, in the "they look like their skin and muscles are now made of bones too" sort of way. Honestly they kinda look like if humans wore full body suits made of tyranid exoskeleton. Cool, but not really the same.
If I remember correctly, they're like golems. Terminator made of bones collected from the remains of the strongest warriors. Some are made from apex predators and acts like savage beasts, too.
@@Scarycrow89 The Ossiarch in general are crafted by breaking multiple souls into pieces and then putting them back together into one that has multiple desirable traits. Said soul is then infused into a gem which is then placed into the body. The body itself is mostly made out of enchanted bones from various creatures but they're mostly from the various cities and nations they enslaved and collect the Bone Tithe from although said bones get used for just about anything depending on where they come from f.e. human bones mixed with a few others are usually used to make more soldiers, more solid bones are used to make defensive structures and buildings and some bones are used to make artworks if they have nothing better to do.
To correct a few things: -The Wood Elves where split into the Slyvaneth (all the trees but now they have more units to make them stand out) and the Wanderers (all the elf models) who are now a sub-fraction of the Cities of Sigmar. -The Empire was split into the Cities of Sigmar's various sub-fraction alongside the Dwarfs, High Elves and Dark Elves but by now they're being replaced by new minis, Bretonnia was completely moved into the Legacy armies and basically doesn't exist and the Stormcasts don't have any ties to either fraction beyond a few named characters. Also, they aren't made out of lightning, that happens if they turn into Lightning Gheists and that is a flaw that Sigmar is still trying to fix. -the Orcs and Goblins where split into two main fractions which are split again into multiple sub-fractions: Da Big WAAAAAGH!!! which is made out of Ironjawz (heavy melee infantry inspired by the Black Orcs but now with new models and a model upgrade from a while ago), Bonesplitterz (the Savage Orc models with a new warband here and there), Kruleboyz (a completely new fraction made out of Mork-worshipers) and the Gloomspite Gitz who are made out of the Moonclan (Night Goblin minis but upgraded and with more options), Spiderfang (forest goblins) and Troggoths (trolls but with new models and characters). -as for Tomb Kings, yeah, they got stuck in legacy too. Their theme got split though, with the Ossiarch getting their construct theme while their "undead kingdom of skeletons" theme was given to the Deathrattle sub-fraction. The two fractions hate each other canonically as the former always tries to cannibalize the later if they get into contact.
12:35 As usual, you are right. In fact, Tomb kings are one of two race (other is Vampire coast) in which you cannot integrate other playable characters to your faction. You can however make them your vassals.
You really ought to watch the video on Nagash. He’s a very important character in the lore and a driving force in the end times. Him and Archaon are probably the most important ones in fact.
even though he isn't exactly around. the fact he was last seen, not being overwhelmed, not panicking and running, or even just sitting to accept what happened. first, he saved nagash from being attacked. turned his blade at nagash saying this "‘Go, prince of Khemri. Settra will forgive your trespasses if you but make the jackals howl. Teach them that the kings of the Great Land cannot be bought and sold like slaves. And then, when it is done, Settra shall take your head, and take back his people." he was then last seen, quite literally, charging into chaos battling the hordes of chaos. cutting down any who stood against him, even as the world was consumed. he straight up said to nagash. you are no king. only a prince. a false ruler. and you are a beneath me. he said. to the incarnate of death
Watch him return with Ghal Maraz as the God of Kings, emperors, rulers, conquers, undead and necromancy with the core Tomb Kings cast from Total War, Nakaph, Felix, and the Tomb King made of scarabs, and all by pure stubbornness.
12:47 Almost everyone starts at war with some minor nobody faction. In the case of Settra, that's a Tomb Kings faction so yes. The other Tomb King heroes are a lady who just hunts vampires and so is completely insulated from their politics and Arkhan who is directly beholden to Nagash
When Settra returns as a full fledged god… Settra: “Oh you’re a god, alright. Just not a capital “G” god.” Literally everyone else: “Yeah, what’s the difference?” Settra: “PRESENTATION!” Step aside Tolkien, there’s a new king of the land. And he’s making all your ruler characters look pathetic by simply existing.
Honestly, PancreasNoWork is completely right. The tomb kings as characters are all more successful and competent as characters than any of the elves, wizards, and Ainur/Gods ever were. "I'm and undead skeleton that respawns now? Oh well, better get back at it. Why would I just loiter around all millennia, especially when there's things that need doing?" Before any one says anything like "The Wizards were meant to be guides and aid with fixing the problem, not solving everyone's problems for them", "The elves only get involved when the matter to the Dark Lord was too big to ignore or are keepers and preservers of the natural world and only act if it's threatened", or "the Ainur don't involve themselves with the affairs of the world unless there are absolutely, positively, without a doubt, no other options available..." ...It's just as Pancreas said, consider that someone like Settra would not have ever allowed things to get to that point in the first place. He would Intervene and solve the problem before it became a problem.
Honestly, if Settra put on the One Ring of Sauron or one of the 9 rings of Men, it would have done nothing. Or at least he would throw it away upon learning something or someone was trying to control him. And then hunt down Sauron for having the audacity to try and make Settra his pawn because Settra does not serve, Settra Rules.
Settra: *puts on the One Ring* The Ring: "Listen to me. I can and will give you all you have ever wanted. All you need to do is heed me." Eru: "Do not listen to the voice. It is using you. Join my forces and serve a cause greater than yourself. Fulfill a purpose greater than anything you can image." And in return for your services, I will send you home. Settra: "Silence, Plebians! Settra Does Not serve, Settra RULES!" Sauron: *senses Settras willpower, arrogance, and stubbornness* 0.0 *nervous* "Ha ha, I'm in danger." Eru: *visible confusion* The elven ring bearers when they sense Settra putting on the ring: *Start crapping bricks*
Nehekharan magic apparently relied mostly on the gods to channel it, hence the priesthood was incredibly important, even the mortuary cults practices and rituals were divine magic, when Nagash mixed the nehekharan rites with Dhar (dark magic), as well as Shyish, the amethyst wind of Death he created his necromantic magic. the difference between Nagashes magic and that of the mortuary cult that is used to create undead shows clearly how different the two are, nehekharan skeletons are infused with the spirits of their warriors (who swore to serve their kings both in life and death), while skeletons of the vampire counts or necromancers are resurrected as unwilling puppets.
Slight misconception; Dhar isn't dark magic. Dhar is what happens when you mix multiple Winds of Magic simultaneously without correctly balancing them, making the magic incredibly powerful, incredibly unstable, and potentially very dangerous to the user and very corrupting if Chaos gets involved, which it tends to do when people use Dhar. Nagash's necromancy used Dhar to simultaneously generate enough magical power to ignore the laws of nature by bringing the dead back to something resembling life, and while the Wind of Death is definitely prevalent in necromancy it also uses bits of the other Winds as well. For instance the Wind of Life is used to inject life into the corpse so it can get up and move on its own, but it also gives the undead the ability to sap away at the life of others and propagate themselves by killing. Most of the other Winds are used to essentially program the undead corpse to either follow orders or act based on certain instincts like the Wind of Fire instilling rage against the living or the Wind of Beasts giving them the ability to move and act as if they were still living creatures, while other Winds give certain properties to the undead, like the Wind of Shadows making the undead able to magically instill fear and dread or to become ethereal while the Wind of Light gives them the ability to harm other magical creatures like daemons or other undead, even ethereal ones like ghosts. It's all rather esoteric.
@@jefrosiers8880 Yes, but High Magic is either using all of the Winds of Magic equally or in the right proportions to do what you want and not what Chaos wants, which is something that requires complete and total mastery of all the Winds of Magic, whereas Dhar is generally what happens when you use magic and don't realize you're using the power of more than one Wind or that you're even using magic at all; an alchemist or witch concocting an herbal remedy might just be using good old-fashioned science and medicine to create something, or they could be accidentally mixing ingredients together in such away that they're casting a spell. The dwarves do this sort of shit all the time with their runesmithing, but because of how magically inert they are they aren't affected by the Dhar the process of creating runes generates, and they've tested each rune so much that they can copy the same rune over and over again without issue if they want, although weirdly enough the dwarves don't like doing that unless they absolutely have to, and the process of making a rune can be so complex that blinking at the wrong time can completely ruin the whole thing and render all the time, effort, and resources spent absolutely worthless.
25:20 the current equivalent to tomb kings are Ossiah bonereapers. Their lore is significantly different but from the design point they are similar with undead army wielding complex constructs. They are actually pretty cool. They are often referred to as walking mass graves since their bodies and souls are patchwork of best warrior trates of dozens dead
12:38 funny you should mention that. In Total Warhammer Tomb Kings specifically are not allowed to confederate (integrate) other Tomb King factions so your only way of getting their land is to conquer them all.
The war of sand and snow where Sterra obliterated 99% of norsca was happening at the same time Asavar Kul the 12th ever chosen and the siege the city of Praag, witch is what the old world is leading too and is the biggest reason Asavar Kul lost because he did not get the reinforcements he’d needed to siege both praag and the greet war of catha at the same time and non one know what was happening because the god of chaos where so blinded to what was happening that even kairos fateweaver past and future site was completely blind for the only time that it happens
the replacement for the tomb kings currently is the Ossiarch Bonereapers........ an army i DESPISE with all my being because their bone army is an abomination nothing can replace the perfection of the human skeleton
@@TheLegitWeebs To be fair, he might still be "alive". It's been confirmed that Settrus isn't him (by Mannfred out of all people) and it's possible to survive the End Times by getting stuck in the Realm of Chaos. For all we know he could have been walking across the cosmos, kicking ass and getting glory while the story of Age of Sigmar takes place somewhere else.
Warhammer Fantasy has existed for like 40 years, and has had 8 editions, each with rewrites of different parts of the lore. So it gets a bit complicated at times when some parts are not updated to match the new bits. Also The End Times is the world ending event that was always coming, Warhammer is a 5-minutes-to-midnight setting, the world is simply going to end. How they handled it though was terrible. It got covered over a series of books written by authors who knew little of the setting and/or were 40K writers. So weird stuff happened, powers that did not make any sense, character acting like themselves, making weird decisions, story threads that didn't go anywhere. And the entire series was focussed on like 30% of the world, the atory begins with saying the other 70% get killwd by Skaven or Greenskins off-screen. So yeah a ton of people hate the end times.
With you reacting to PancreasNoWork, I hope you'll touch upon Cain at some point. His video on him, I feel is one of the best (but probably best to watch that after reading the books, if you have any intentions of reading them). =)
I mean i love the idea of the End Times, it's very fitting to warhammer that there is no good ending, everyone dies and the world falls. That being said, GW's execution was less than stellar, being a almost impromptu decision, There was alot of plot threads from all the major characters within the setting that either got rushed through or never continued. And while Age of Sigmar never had a tomb king or tomb king like analog. The first boxsets for The Old World dropped at the start of the week and one of them is a Tomb King army.
I will say diving into Age of Sigmar, it’s not as bad as it’s made out to be. However, it definitely has a lot to make up for in comparison to Old World and 40k’s influence on it isn’t ignorable. Definitely give it a shot but be prepared to miss many things from the old world
I absolutely love you speedrunning all this warhammer fantasy content ❤❤❤❤. Great to see new people dipping their toes into the franchise. Cant wait for more content and the eventual warhammer total war gameplay 😂
the tomb kings kinda have spiritual successor in the age of sigmar called the OSSIARCH BONEREAPERS and their petty cool. kind of the death equivalent of the storm caste but their certanly not my fav death faction thats got to be the night haunt. because ghost

Many titles but not as much as settra
I feel like pancreasnowork's videos can be fun but are bad for informational value a lot of the time. He really talks up characters and factions he likes and does the opposite for ones he doesn't. As in, straight up ignores written lore that doesn't fit his interpretation. Which is fine, after all what's "canon" or not in Warhammer is always a bit difficult to define, but it's worth making a mental note of when you watch his stuff.
The only way to unite all the Tomb kings is to Conquer them all as Settra!~ You got Arkan the Black to the West and hes the biggest Nagash Simp so Axe him First and while you got High Queen Khalida to the East shes not exactly good friends with the rest of the Tomb Kings, ITS POSSIBLE to get her on your side and Confederate but its extremely hard to do so, So Throw money at her to butter her up and Kahtep is on the complete A** end of the World in Nagaroth in a Knife fight with the Dark Elves so unless you send a Hero out to talk to em you'll probably never encounter him in your playthrough even if he surivived long enough. Plus as Settra you got all kinds of other problems to deal with, to your South you got Manfred "Everything is his fault" Carstine and should be killed on sight, You also got Tiq Taq and Krokgar as well and Lizards werent the biggest fans of bone bois. Also to your West is Vulkmar and Rapanse and they have a massive hate boner for anything Skelly like so best to axe them off ASAP, To your East outside the High queen ya also got Imirk and his Dragons lounging around And Directly North you got Scarrbrand, Queek, and Wurzag to deal with as well. Can ya Tell that Nehekara became Lustria Battle Royal 2 Electric Boogaloo. It may seem intimidating but this is Settra and hes Peak Awesome he can take em all on Heck managed to make all of "Not Africa" all Settras by Turn 70
Debatable since while none of the Primarchs have god-level power like Nagash did, most of them are way better martial fighters than Nagash and could probably match Settra in melee combat even if they couldn't soundly defeat him. I mean Settra isn't overpowering Vulkan in terms of strength, nor is he going to be able to out-duel the Lion or Konrad, because one has fighting instincts that border on precognition and the other just flat-out HAS precognition. Then you have Jaghatai Khan, who can move so fast even the trained eyes of Space Marines can't track him when he's going all out, and then you have Corvus who can just straight up turn invisible mid-combat. And while Magnus isn't a better necromancer than Nagash, even before Nagash achieved godhood, Magnus is arguably a better mage overall than Nagash and smart enough to use that power intelligently and cleverly in combat instead of trying to prove that he can beat Settra through brute force alone or through cheap tricks like Nagash. Those 6 have the best chance of beating Settra, and of the remaining 12 most of the Primarchs are on the same playing field, with the exception of Russ, Angron, Sanguinius, and Alpharius & Omegon. Russ is a confirmed Primarch-killer, and that alone is testament to his strength and skill, while Angron is one of the physically strongest Primarchs and was able to best Russ 1v1, while Sanguinius managed to beat Daemon-Primarch Angron after fighting for days on end during the Siege of Terra. Plus, Sanguinius has wings AND precognition, just like Konrad, although he doesn't use it in combat as much. And Alpharius and Omegon? They're a tag-team, and they're obviously going to cheat as much as they physically can. So that's at least 7, and potentially 10 of the Primarchs who can reasonably be expected to beat Settra 1v1, or 2v1 in the case of Alpharius and Omegon.
@@TheLegitWeebs Look, as furious as i am at how the endtimes happened and how frustrated I am at the cause of all of it, AOS is not bad, it's just hard for me to find the lore and I was already invested in fantasy lore during the pandemic. Funnily enough tomb kings simply cannot confederate (join the same faction) because they all consider themselves to be the rightful ruler of everything
Age of sigmar is such a fucking disaster. It should've been it's own separate thing instead of blowing up fantasy. Lizardmen are in age of Sigmar but i shit you not they're made out of star energy so they're basically immortal like daemons. My biggest gripe with age of Sigmar besides nearly no interesting new characters and the reusing of many old fantasy characters is how painfully wack the armies are Free Cities of Sigmar i shit you not are: dwarves, high elves, dark elves, wood elves and empire merged into a single faction. Vampire counts had their entire army broken down into like 3-4 sub factions. Ogres were split in two factions because.....its age of Sigmar. And the unique factions like lumineth (high elves but use light magic) or the ossiarch bonelords (not tomb kings which is wack) just aren't prominent enough. For christ sake they made an entire faction based solely around the female dark elves which i don't mind but its just annoying how chomped down everything is. If they made AoS it's own thing to begin with with completely new armies, lore, characters it would've been amazing. But instead GW has to artificially pad how many factions you play by chopping down existing fantasy races into pieces. Also the constant reuse of fantasy characters instead of making an interesting original character is annoying. For example, the strongest stormcast that is Sigmar second in command of all his armies is Karl Franz. Or how Alarielle becomes the goddess of life and nature. Or even how the lumineth have a magical energy being in a suit of armor that's eltharion. And they don't even bring in some of the best characters like Grimgor, Settra, Thanquol, Malus, etc And my last bit of rant. The outright removal of certain races completely. No breronnia. No tomb kings. No kislev. No Cathay. No chaos dwarves. No norsca. Edit: To clarify i do love the daughters of khaine but why the fuck did GW completely removed the witch elves from the entire dark elf race????
Incredible, almost every thing you said is no longer true! The lizardmen being "daemons of order" is not a thing anymore. They have the Starbone and the Coaslesced, both are made of flesh, bones ans scales. The Coaslesced are the most classic lizardmen, focusing on saurus and monsters, and the Starbone are more focus on arcane and skinks. Those do have glowing eyes because of the magic energy, they look like little godzillas. The ogres are one army since, I want to say 4-5 years, but they're indeed 2 types of ogres in AoS, the classic and the "from the blizzard they came". Cities of Sigmar have removed most of the empire units (they still have some of the old heroes), and they have no longer any High or Wood elves in the army. They still kept some dwarves and dark elves, which I think is a shame. As for Vampire Counts,"divided" is a strong word. They took the banshee, the cairn wraith, the black coach and the spirit host from the entire vampire count range, and made a 100% ghost army with 95% new stuff. And they took the ghouls to make an army of crazed cannibals who thinks they're noble knights. Now they have a bunch of new models since last month, and are led by Ushoran, who never had a model back in fantasy. Other than that, they added some russian vampires/werewolves, remade some miniatures and left the vampires not changed by a lot.
Also, kislev, Cathay and norsca were never an army on the tabletop. And the chaos dwarves are in Age of Sigmar, but like fantasy, they don't make miniatures for it since like, 30 years.
@@Scarycrow89 And that's not all: We have no idea who the Celestant-Prime even is, both the Ossiarch and the Limineth had major lore moments like the former stopping the release of Slaanesh by attacking the Allpoints and the later doing the heavy lifting to end the Necroquake, Alarielle is a complicated mix between three different people, Thanquol has been back for a while already and AoS has more then enough non-WHF characters like Lauka Vai, Gordrakk, King Brodd, Gardus Steel Soul, Neave Blacktalon, Orpheon Katakros ect. who have models too.
Age of Sigmar is basically warhammer fantasy 2 and honestly, i'm not a fan. Mostly because they kill off everyone in the end times and give us some magical loopyland as compensation with some goofy lore on how it got to this point. Plus i don't think any of the characters in AoS are as interesting as the characters in fantasy. Also fantasy is the one who got a total war game and not aos, i wonder why. I'm not very hopeful about The Old World either, cause i know they're gonna rewrite established cool asf lore or just toss it aside as non canon. I wouldn't trust GW with keeping things as they were as they show favoritism, lazyness and disrespect to both their own properties and online creators, so yeah... there's a good reason i still swear by good 'ole fantasy and will continue to do so

11:18 imagine being so evil, so dangerous, that even the SKAVEN say, "Alright we gotta stop this guy."

Greatest Minds of the Imperium: What could the tyranids be running from
What the tyranids are running from:
Also number 1; *all* the factions got axed after Endtimes. Only some truly come back and fewer unchanged. And number 2; I don’t think Settra is fully dead, he’s just taking a walk, and very enthusiastic walk.
It’s just Settra in a normal sized chariot, flying through space chasing after flesh ships thousands of times bigger than him.
I guess it's because the vast majority of the miniature range was either too old (some molds were DECADES old and, quite frankly, rather goofy) or too generic... after EoT GW debuted Age of Sigmar, in which most factions got a visual upgrade so people couldn't go and buy minis from less expensive producer to prox their units:
-wood elves pretty much lost the elves part and went full on dryad and treeman (something I really loved but... yeah)
-Empire, Bretonnia and so on became the Stormcast Eternals (basically Space Marines made of living lightning wearing golden armor)
-the orks became steroid addicts
And the Tomb Kings... disappeared... until years later GW introduced the Ossiarch Bonereapers to kinda "fill the spot"... still not TK (loyal to Nagash) but they are the new "army of skeletons"... except the skeletons are more like humans made of bones... and not in the "well, duh" sort of way, in the "they look like their skin and muscles are now made of bones too" sort of way.
To correct a few things:
-The Wood Elves where split into the Slyvaneth (all the trees but now they have more units to make them stand out) and the Wanderers (all the elf models) who are now a sub-fraction of the Cities of Sigmar.
Good to know!
And then, when it is done, Settra shall take your head, and take back his people."
he was then last seen, quite literally, charging into chaos battling the hordes of chaos. cutting down any who stood against him, even as the world was consumed.
he straight up said to nagash. you are no king. only a prince. a false ruler. and you are a beneath me. he said. to the incarnate of death
Yeah they axed the tomb kings, they axed the entire fantasy setting, and their greatest crime... THEY AXED WURRZAG!
Big mistake
When Settra returns as a full fledged god…
Settra: “Oh you’re a god, alright. Just not a capital “G” god.”
Literally everyone else: “Yeah, what’s the difference?”
Settra: “PRESENTATION!”
Step aside Tolkien, there’s a new king of the land.
Why would I just loiter around all millennia, especially when there's things that need doing?"
Before any one says anything like "The Wizards were meant to be guides and aid with fixing the problem, not solving everyone's problems for them", "The elves only get involved when the matter to the Dark Lord was too big to ignore or are keepers and preservers of the natural world and only act if it's threatened", or "the Ainur don't involve themselves with the affairs of the world unless there are absolutely, positively, without a doubt, no other options available..."
...It's just as Pancreas said, consider that someone like Settra would not have ever allowed things to get to that point in the first place.
Settra: *puts on the One Ring*

Settra: "Silence, Plebians! Settra Does Not serve, Settra RULES!"
Sauron: *senses Settras willpower, arrogance, and stubbornness* 0.0 *nervous* "Ha ha, I'm in danger."

@@Brutalyte616 true, that is what i meant, Dhar and High magic are the mixing of the winds after all
@@jefrosiers8880 Yes, but High Magic is either using all of the Winds of Magic equally or in the right proportions to do what you want and not what Chaos wants, which is something that requires complete and total mastery of all the Winds of Magic, whereas Dhar is generally what happens when you use magic and don't realize you're using the power of more than one Wind or that you're even using magic at all; an alchemist or witch concocting an herbal remedy might just be using good old-fashioned science and medicine to create something, or they could be accidentally mixing ingredients together in such away that they're casting a spell.

@@TheLegitWeebs welp its just GW being GW wanting to focus in their new universe while throwing away the old one 🥲

Yeah I'm gonna say it. Settra is better than the God Emperor.
I mean tbf that can apply to most major fantasy characters/gods
I mean i love the idea of the End Times, it's very fitting to warhammer that there is no good ending, everyone dies and the world falls. That being said, GW's execution was less than stellar, being a almost impromptu decision, There was alot of plot threads from all the major characters within the setting that either got rushed through or never continued.
And while Age of Sigmar never had a tomb king or tomb king like analog. The first boxsets for The Old World dropped at the start of the week and one of them is a Tomb King army.

I feel like pancreasnowork's videos can be fun but are bad for informational value a lot of the time. He really talks up characters and factions he likes and does the opposite for ones he doesn't. As in, straight up ignores written lore that doesn't fit his interpretation. Which is fine, after all what's "canon" or not in Warhammer is always a bit difficult to define, but it's worth making a mental note of when you watch his stuff.
age of sigmar got a lot of flak early on due to how bad it was handled, but nowadays it's doing ok storywise
The only way to unite all the Tomb kings is to Conquer them all as Settra!~

and while you got High Queen Khalida to the East shes not exactly good friends with the rest of the Tomb Kings, ITS POSSIBLE to get her on your side and Confederate but its extremely hard to do so, So Throw money at her to butter her up
and Kahtep is on the complete A** end of the World in Nagaroth in a Knife fight with the Dark Elves so unless you send a Hero out to talk to em you'll probably never encounter him in your playthrough even if he surivived long enough.

Also to your West is Vulkmar and Rapanse and they have a massive hate boner for anything Skelly like so best to axe them off ASAP, To your East outside the High queen ya also got Imirk and his Dragons lounging around
And Directly North you got Scarrbrand, Queek, and Wurzag to deal with as well.

@TheLegitWeebs it's called Warhammer the Old World, there's a battle report on the warhammer community channel
Well Tomb Kings are back in the old world war game they just released you can even buy Settra
At least there's that I suppose.
With a strength buff too he now has the same strength as an exalted bloodthirster because you know that's how he rolls
the death korps of kreig
My favorite diabetic lore man is info is worthy
Also 40k fans Settra would destroy any primarch in a fight
So that's at least 7, and potentially 10 of the Primarchs who can reasonably be expected to beat Settra 1v1, or 2v1 in the case of Alpharius and Omegon.

never ask why GW does anything
The unfortunate reality lol
the end times is basically a speedrun in how to ruin your established lore, do not recommend it at all
Sometimes watching a dumpster fire can be entertaining, which is kinda what I'm expecting once I get into it lol
@@TheLegitWeebs Look, as furious as i am at how the endtimes happened and how frustrated I am at the cause of all of it, AOS is not bad, it's just hard for me to find the lore and I was already invested in fantasy lore during the pandemic. However I will never forgive the writing of the endtimes, i won't spoil it because pancreas explains it better then me, though his irrational hatred for brettonnia does show.
@@TheLegitWeebs Every AoS players, fans, and lore enthusiasts agrees on a simple fact: The End Times is a shitty storyline.
Huh? Why would anyone say Nagash is the enemy? Karl Franz is the enemy
react to his halohammer series
Funnily enough tomb kings simply cannot confederate (join the same faction) because they all consider themselves to be the rightful ruler of everything
Age of sigmar is such a fucking disaster. It should've been it's own separate thing instead of blowing up fantasy.
Lizardmen are in age of Sigmar but i shit you not they're made out of star energy so they're basically immortal like daemons.
My biggest gripe with age of Sigmar besides nearly no interesting new characters and the reusing of many old fantasy characters is how painfully wack the armies are
Free Cities of Sigmar i shit you not are: dwarves, high elves, dark elves, wood elves and empire merged into a single faction.
And they don't even bring in some of the best characters like Grimgor, Settra, Thanquol, Malus, etc
And my last bit of rant.
@@Scarycrow89 And that's not all:
We have no idea who the Celestant-Prime even is, both the Ossiarch and the Limineth had major lore moments like the former stopping the release of Slaanesh by attacking the Allpoints and the later doing the heavy lifting to end the Necroquake, Alarielle is a complicated mix between three different people, Thanquol has been back for a while already and AoS has more then enough non-WHF characters like Lauka Vai, Gordrakk, King Brodd, Gardus Steel Soul, Neave Blacktalon, Orpheon Katakros ect. who have models too.
