Both Cathay and Kislev have been let down by the fact that GW has a vice grip on what CA are allowed to implement or not in terms of lore, lords, units etc. As always, the biggest thing holding back creativity is corporate bullshit. As for Kostaltyn, he really needs not just a faction rework, but probably a model and voice rework to make him more like he is in the cutscenes, since right now he's just a less interesting fantasy version of Grigori Rasputin.

Boy also did one better THAN Horus considering he destroyed Earth and defeated Not-God King Supreme (Emperor) pretty decisively to where he had to resort to a Decapitation strike and essentially getting him to quit the UNIVERSE.

Played this as a kid, loved it to bits despite its many failures and missing/changed features from the first games. Maybe it helped that I only learned about the other games much later, but I still recommend playing this, even before the other two, so you don't miss rope arrows too much. I promise there is some peak enjoyment to be had, I remember some spooky part being so atmospheric and effective to my very young self, I had to take breaks and "un-immerse" myself in order to get through. And apart from the infuriating issue of loot and regular assets looking the same, the typical Thief gameplay you want is still totally there. Just don't expect it to be a timeless classic.

Now to wait for him to inevitably review Thief 4 (in one of the end-of-video patreon questions, he did say he would much rather review that than review C&C4). Also I think Civvie, even if you don’t make a video reaction out of it, still good content-wise. It’s not just gameplay, he makes it into both a plot summarization and a breakdown of story elements, gameplay mechanics, and development backstory. Also also: I’m sorry if this sounds forceful, but I really do hope you check out the Mandalore Story complication. You’ll get more insight into Mandalore’s jokes and… his very “main character” backstories.

the ork and mostlikly the Human Afterlife isnt that bad and even if not a human Soul and most others arent Sentient in the Warp. the Harliquines have the only Confirmed afterlife in the Warp because there God litterly steals there Souls from Slaanesh. also the soul stones are these Colored Gemes in the Eldar Armore you see most have multipel becaus there is always a chance one is hit by an enemy also they are actualy not that fragile even without the casing we see. also i read a short story of an Human guardsmen that got killed by an Eldar that later was killed because of a crack in the casing of a Soulstone the human was sucked into it after he died. apperantly the Collective wanted him to stay so non living eldar is aware of the Human in there Afterlife. but this cant be the only case that happened. i just imagine a Black templar beeing in there and just hear the news about current 40K from his Hannibal lecter Prison in there

I recommend Warlockracy’s video on Deus Ex if you want to get into it, it’s somewhat long but in depth on the story and philosophy

Once a franchise starts deviating from the formula that made the first N games good and successful in this way, where it starts compromising for a console, or a trend in gameplay, or whatever... it almost always only gets worse from there. The only exception I can think of is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, but seeing how Human Revolution went it seems it's a statistical anomaly instead.

So not every fight is of this quality. That would just be impossible. But fun fact, the fight was animated by MORO. More impressively, just MORO. One mad man animated the fight.

39:46: I actually did this. Cause there are areas that straight up become a gang war between the two factions with a lot of civilian casualties. And that's a lot of free loot if I just wait for the dust to settle.

Sseth has a Deus Ex vid but the game is super worth playing too, I played it way after it came out and you forget it's age fast once you get into it.

Accursed Farms has a great series that has reviews on a bunch of games including all the Dues ex games. Would definitely recommend, as Ross does a good job on talking about some of the more abstract parts of the games themes while having a unique brand of humor.

I never understood why mandalore frontloads his review videos with his bugfixing adventures prior to the actual review. It's not relevant to the review and something I really don't care about until AFTER the review has managed to sell me on it, if it even does that.

Civvi's stuff is really good but be advised: some of his best content is also his _longest._ And his most... "TH-cam-unfriendly". As far as those go, the Postal series are the best but the Shadow Warrior series is probably the _safest._

Worry not about Civvie, his videos are reviews and skits, reminiscent of Mandalores.

If you wanna know how bad Thief 3 engine (and Deus Ex Invisible War) was the game CRASHES THEN RELAUNCH TO LOAD THE NEXT LEVEL ON EVERY LOADING SCREEN, is that bad. This is thanks to the original Xbox hardware and how the team was put in heavy crunch time and mostly did PC games so they had no chance in hell. Ion Storm was Jonh Romero acid trip, at least it gave us the original Deus Ex, downright one of the best masterpieces of videogames ever created. I dislike Thief 3, lacks any of the good stuff from the originals outside the Cradle but we didnt know how good we had it when until they made Thi4f (which doesnt exist, move along). At least oil is very, very fun and its easier to kill things with props this time around. Also if you want the best Deus Ex review out there please check Ross's Game Dungeon review. Accursed Farms is one hell of a channel and Ross explains the value of the game outside of a simple game and how even to this day Deus Ex its important as a piece of media which I fully agree.

Ah, Deadly Shadows. I love this game in spite of its jank. Lots of cool ideas with some messy execution. Mandalore hasn't reviewed Deus Ex, but he has reviewed System Shock (Looking Glass's other big series) and I'd highly recommend looking at those games

Dues Ex is a fun romp that allows you to approach the fairly linear campaign in a wide variety of ways. You play an augmented cyborg JC Denton (Jesus Christ Denton) who is running the newest experiment tech and has been assigned to a UN antiterrorism force based out of New York, UNATCO. You quickly run into conspiracies, terrorist groups, a new plague ravaging the US, oppressive surveillance states, corporate greed, and the dangers of a utopian vision made by flawed people. The game takes you all over the world and the US and while the mission goals might be pretty basic, find a thing or get to a location, the way you go about it is up to you. Do you sneak through with stealth, hacking, nonlethal takedowns, and act like you are playing Metal Gear Solid? Do you run in guns blazing, firing rockets and grenades at anything that looks like a target? Do you use your enhanced muscles to lift vending machines to make platforms to reach roofs? Do you invest in super speed and blitz past all the problems? Do you install a cloaking field and just vanish whenever you encounter to hard of a stretch? Do you turn a military base's turrets against the soldiers or just disable them since these guys are just doing a job and you aren't here for a slaughter? Who do you trust? Do you follow orders without question? Do you disobey on principle? Are you ready for the consequences that action might cause? Dues Ex plays like a Morrowind mixed with a Quake but had a side affair with Knights of the Old Republic. You have first person view, slowish movement, slightly janky controls, stats and experience, an arsenal of highly destructive weapons, and conversations with individuals that can change the particulars but not the overall narrative of the game.

Deus ex is def a game that Mandalore would review, but he specifically didnt because he felt like everything was already said about it. And he was right, if you look up "Deus Ex review" you can find multiple 40 min to 3 hour overviews, and a 10 min Sseth shitpost ;) Interestingly learning about this game now I can see that Arkane probably took inspirations from this game when making Dishonored 2. Small things like a witch villain, shopping from fencers, a young girl prodigy to the older protagonist etc. I looked it up and they shared some devs mainly Harvey Smith as director and probably some others.

Battletech DOES have alien life, even intelligent and sapient aliens within the Inner Sphere, but they are always in the Tribal Phase, which is still realistic. We are still CRAZY early in the universe's probable lifespan.
