    Bought one for my 11 year old granddaughter for Christmas, she loves making those rubber band bracelets, so I'm thinking this will be a few steps up for her...can't wait to do it with her and I have a lot of leather wrapping and cord material left over from making my own wraps.

    Wow! I almost GAVE UP!
    I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the beads going. Then I realized, I'd watched this video on FULL SCREEN. I'd ordered the kit not realizing how small the beads were. And, they're magnified in the directions. Switched to my stash of "Pony Beads" and I was fine. However, I think I pulled the wrap line too tight when I was beading, so now, I'm worried about the bracelet "popping" loose over time. Ugh! Embarrassing!
    Excellent video, tho'! I can see how someone could get addicted to making these bracelets.
    Thanks.

    Neat loom! Enjoyed watching you show how easy it is to work with. I used my paracord loom recently to make a quick bracelet wrapped like that for a coworker I forgot about her birthday. That loom was not nearly as stable to work on as the loom you are using. Looks like I need to get one of these looms. :)

    • @kathygoodman4531
      @kathygoodman4531 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can use any product, you don't need a refill kit. I use 1 mm leather cord and S-lon for the wrap. You can buy 6 or 8 mm seed beads or the mini pony beads at your craft store or online as well. Now to figure out how to make a wrap bracelet with the loom. I find this loom easier to use than the macrame board, but not sure how it would work for a longer bracelet. Any suggestions????

    My sister read the instruction but didn`t make sense and we watched this video then we figured it out and do we have to use the brown cord or can we use another kind of one that has the same thickness? But thank you for this video helped my sister a lot.

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use different kinds of cord,. It's best if what you use has a bit of stiffness to it similar to leather. We've made some nice bracelets with waxed cotton cord. 1mm to 1.5mm is the best thickness.

  • @marieazrak1951

    Can you use macreme and embroidery floss

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any sort of fairly cord can work well, we like to use 1mm or 1.5mm thick leather or waxed cotton cords because we find it helps if the cord has a bit of stiffness to it. Softer floss might be a bit more difficult to work with, but it's worth a go. Hemp cord would also work nicely if you have any of that in your macrame supplies.

    I'm confused. .... U used 30" of cord and 36" of wrap line, as per the instructions. However, everyone's wrist is a different size.
    I don't get it?
    A wrist could be anywhere from 6.5" to 8" .
    R U using the same length of cord and wrap line regardless of wrist size?
    (BTW, I'm only at the 3.24 minutes of the video. If you've addressed this later, my apologies.)

    • @kathygoodman4531
      @kathygoodman4531 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The instruction sheet shows the bracelets life-sized. If your wrist is smaller or larger you need to adjust the amount of cord and wrap line and the number of beads used.

      It's hard to see, but she uses a 15-inch ruler, not a 12-inch. She says 15 inches when she's preparing the second cord but you've got to be quick to catch it.

      For the outer cord, I like to use a 1mm or 1.5mm waxed cotton cord. You could also probably use a thin leather lacing as well. For the wrap line cords, I like either S-Lon size 18 or Griffin Silk size 4

    I must be missing something. I don't see how this is any better than a regular loom for helping with these bracelets. And it's not that much better than making one out of a shoe box or box lid. It just holds the leather in place? Why would I spend $16 on something to take up valuable real estate in my craft room that can be replaced by at least 3 other things in that room?
    I tell you what. If you're thinking about buying one of these, let me know. I will hand craft you a thing that will do the same thing, and I'll only charge you shipping. If more than one person wants me to, I will make a video showing you how to make yourself one for free.

    • @mel-wi1ji
      @mel-wi1ji 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      in my point of view usually making one yourself won't last as much as buying something like this. I made one myself since i couldn't buy something like this and i've had to fix it several times when i was doing more beading and etc, since they break easily. The point of saving space is true but i think that sometimes it's better to give up something (for example space) than give up quality or comfort while crafting :) While i also understand the fact that these things are sold a bit expensive, I think it's a good thing people are actually doing something for a part of the crafting community that can sometimes be underestimated ^^ And possibly when you only do beading/friendshipbracelets/macrame, gadgets like these are awesome and definitely worth the money and space ! i guess it's a matter of interests :3

    • @amydevlinpickering8835
      @amydevlinpickering8835 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What I'm saying is that it is no better than one of those cheap bead looms that you can get for $5. It has a little place where you can put the end loop, then you use it exactly the same way as you normally do, only you have a cord on either side of the wrap bracelet. It is easy and intuitive to use, it's cheaper than this loom, and is made out of metal and wood, which will stand up to more wear.
      If you want a larger loom, it's SO easy and cheap to just pick up some wood pieces at the craft store, cut to make a box shape, carve out some notches, nail it together, and add screws at each end as anchor points. I've done this several times making looms for friends, and they all loved them. It super cheap (materials are

    • @jaimie00
      @jaimie00 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought the same thing when I saw this. Those cheap little starter looms are perfect for this, and you can pick one up at places like Wal-Mart for about $5. There is no advantage to this loom vs. those looms that I can see, and that plastic isn't going to hold up over time, which makes the $5 looms the better choice.
