There are 2 kinds of Fallout players: - The RPG rollplayer who likes to play a character and immerse themselves in a story of their character's life. - The memestar gamer who plays every game like Spiffing Brit, and is only there for the meme moments and "kill everyone" challenges. This show seems to be written for the second kind of player.
The two kinds of Fallout player are those that know what Fallout is really trying to achieve and those that don't. Those that don't know what it's all about are going to get annihilated by those that do. You think Fallout's all about your entertainment? These people have got plans for this world and part of that plan is making people brain dead via video games.
I think they were going for the evil German scientist trope. Even the fucking Enclave guy has a German name. "Basically make them nazi, that'll make people hate them"
Heck, Maxmimus could have given the Stimpack before saying that Titus doesn't deserve that armor before contacting the same vertibird to do the mission.
People who are defending this are turning their brains off. My colleague was defending the BoS flying thing with "you don't know how it works, because it's not real life".
@@tdog4718 Oh I guess we can have inconsistencies with the story than and having iconic factions and enemies thousands of kilometres away even if it does make sense? Right? Right?????
@@tdog4718 Its a lame joke, tried to joke how people use the dumb excuse that its a "realistic" game by saying that if people can use those excuses for the lack of creativity than people would have to have inconsistencies and repetitive iconography because by those people's logic, it doesn't matter at all whether its realistic or not.
I've had people unironically ask me why I can't just simply turn my brain off and just enjoy the show. The fact you have to do that to enjoy this show says a hell of a lot more about how bad it is than me calling it out for being bad.
Actually, it says a lot more how bad audiences in general are becoming in accepting this crap. I mean, whatever happened to expecting quality and even having high standards when it comes to someone's work? I understand no one's work will ever be perfect, but that doesn't mean we should be lenient in them not even trying. Is that really too much to ask? -.-

@@badbreakingbadvideosNo you don't get it it makes sence. Fallout is when vault dweller brotherhood enclave trash city. Ze brother hood will build 50 airships from nothing while everyone else lives in trash and you will be happy.😊
The writing style of 'excessive swearing and casual evil/incompetence' is the hallmark of truly bitter creators who hate their audience as much as themselves. They're not asking any questions of their premise. They have not a care in endearing their characters and cementing them into modern myth. If everything is awful; that's good enough, because they don't perceive or conceive of the world in any other way. That's why the lead writer never paused to consider the implications of declaring Nate to be a war criminal.
I think the amount of unfunny lukewarm sex jokes really call to the type of 'people' writing this show, and yeah you're right, the people behind this clearly think the audience is retarded. Because shit like escaping a nuclear blast on a horse while running towards the blast isn't something an actual competent director would put into a script.
I love how the strenght of the power armour changes throughout a single episode. The Trained Knight can't take on a bear hand-to-hand and get's killed, because he hit his head on a rock, but a barely trained squire can a rip a house apart with a single punch and survive a crash landing with the speed of an airplane.
@@dorianshepard2841 Yeah. Especially because these things were designed to shrug off chinese artillery shells in Alaska, with the T-60 being an even more advanced version of the frequently used T-51. How the fuck can a bear even scratch that?
I’m going to keep saying that this show is The Force Awakens again. It’s a canonical sequel that resets the world. With people are saying it’s good because it has iconic elements and fits into the mold of what people think Fallout is.
I'm paraphrasing but MauLer once described the HALO show as a bad generic scifi show that someone dumped a bucket of HALO over. Seems like this show is a bad generic post apocalypse show that someone dumped a bucket of Fallout on.
O-oh, just you wait, that New Vegas teaser wasn't just to pick ppl's interest. "New Vegas got nucked by Vault-Tec, cuz reasons" - it's gonna be a plot of S2, that's for sure.
I think I've cracked the code, this is a 14 year old's idea of what Fallout is. They look at the Enclave's experiments and drew nothing from it except: "Oh they're EVIL" and translated that into puppy incineration. This is how people on Reddit would write antagonists
@@thekey1175 my god, the nonstop music in this show is so insufferable. it just feels like filler for when the writers were too lazy to actually write something of interest, they just write a shitty slow-mo scene with The Wanderer playing in the background. Shit gets old REAL FAST.
My favorite was when someone tried to claim that Tenpenny Tower was an example of "the haves and have-nots". The quest's "peaceful" ending completely contradicts this. It proves they were completely right to keep Roy and his pals out.
The Ghoul is Deadpool. I just realised that. Even though it's so obvious. He is literally deadpool. He is badass, extreme violence happens around him, he's a merc anti-hero, he's sarcastic and quirky, he is unkillable, his face is ugly. It's also kinda funny how both ghoul's and deadpool's faces are much smoother and not as ugly in movies/shows compared to source materials. They've put deadpool in fallout....
@@Zomesura Well. Deadpool-like character could fit in fallout universe perfectly actually. Some sort of super-soldier expriment. I'm just not a big fan of Deadpool because I always saw him like "haha funni guy kills people, swears, breaks 4th wall and never dies", but I guess he's fine. But the way The Ghoul is portrayed in this show is just bad. He is just OP invincible guy who shoots people and can single-handedly wipe out a squad of BoS knights with ease just because his enemies are always incompetent. And he's invincible just because he's a ghoul, but other ghouls die from a couple shots just fine. So because of his poor implementation it came off to me that writer just decided to make a Deadpool ripoff without much thought put into it because "It would be cool". A lot of missed potential with this guy.
@@saveklaI completely agree, I saw another comment somewhere talking about this character saying "Guys it makes sense that Ghoul is invincible because Lucy needs to complete his quest first" Which got a chuckle out of me, But yeah the Ghoul is literally just playing rules for thee and not for me the whole time, What really confused me was at the very beginning where he's introduced he's found buried and he was supposed to be buried there for years, So how exactly did he survive that whole time without food or water??? And now Ghouls are taking a certain drug to stop themselves from going feral??? The writers really didn't do any research on Ghouls and how they actually are supposed to be and just made things up 😂 I think the only time they got it mostly right is with the feral Ghouls but even then it felt very specific and drawn out
@@SamuraiOniReaver It's bethesda's fallout rules. "Ghouls don't need food or water because they can regenerate with radiation" or some shit like that. Because in bethesda fallouts radiation = magic. The thing about coffin isn't as bad as kid in the fridge imo because it's mentioned that he gets dug out every once in a while. And we can assume that while he's in coffin he is in a sort of hibernation. But the magic anti-feral ghoul juice is just dumb. At this point ghouls are more like undead from dark souls. They have superhuman abilities, but then they go hollow and become weak pathetic zombies. And ghoul juice is like humanity consumable, which prevents one from going hollow.
@@saveklaBut that was only starting to be a thing in Fallout 4. Beforehand, Ghouls needed food and water and just aged slower than normal people. Heck, quite a few quests in 1, 2, 3, New Vegas, and even 4 had quests where Ghouls had to eat and drink to survive.
Did the Brotherhood of Steel and Caesar's Legion join forces off screen or something? The Brotherhood are acting VASTLY out of character in this show. For example Titus describes squires being strung up by their lungs for the vultures if they don't do their job.
The best faith interpretation is that Titus lied for... malicious idiot reasons. He sounded like he was just making shit up to sound scary and evil, but knowing Bethesda and rhis atrocity of a show I couldn't say that definitively.
Apparently saying this show is bad is a controversial opinion, I did not know that and somehow every reason I give why this shit sucks is met with "But it was good?" riveting stuff
Talked with coworkers yesterday about Fallout: New Vegas. They were excited for a remaster but I was NOT. It’s obvious from this show and the recent games that Bethesda doesn’t care anymore.
A New Vegas remaster would be atrocious and broken. When will people learn, every remaster that comes out is a trash fire, all for the dubious benefit of HD graphics.
Remember how even tho in Fallout 2 the Enclave were cartoonishly evil, they still had moments of humanity and compassion? Like when you interfere whit their signals and call to their HQ and you can have a goofy conversation whit an Enclave soldier. Or. If you go to Navarro as a stupid character the Foot soldier whit try to be as clear as possible whit you because he doesn't want you to get hurt. But nah, Bethesda Enclave big meanie.
True for every Fallout faction. Bethesda are full of brainlets who cant comprehend the complexity of real factions so they have to substitute with other things in media instead of giving them their own personality. Ghouls - Zombies Super Mutants - Orcs BoS - Adeptus Mechanicus Enclave - Nazis NCR - ERROR, ERROR, does not compute, nuke it immediately etc etc
Even Bethesda's Enclave isn't that bad. Colonel Autumn wanted to rebel against the "President" Eden because even he thought using the FEV to kill everyone in the Capital Wasteland was stupid when they could use it as a huge bargaining chip and PR stunt to make the Enclave look like the good guys.
Yeah Humanity and compassion when I giant Super mutant deck in power armor just went around off ppl, also killed all the smart deathclaws and when he was about to die said f it I’m taking everyone out with me 😂😂
@@she_lovesbillzyou're talking about a United States secret service super mutant encased in a power armor and kept alive by tubes running chemicals into his body.
The Fallout fanbase is even more split as a result of this show. It's because bethesda said everything that happens in it is 110% Canon and will be used as the basis for all new fallout content going forward. They will keep changing things even after this shows time has blown over. bethesda doesn't care about keeping lore consistent anyway
Lucy doesn't deserve to be mentioned because it's a FO3 retread, so focusing on Maximus: How the hell does he expect this to go? His BoS training clearly hasn't helped him have self discipline. His ONLY friend in his unit get promoted, so he has a giant hissy fit, admits he wished harm upon them, steals their place after they've been sabotaged, lets his superior die from his wounds, steals his armor, and treats it like a greaser joyriding a car. This is not a good track record. If bugthesda's ret@rded version of the BoS manages to put this together, he'd be hanged for treason.
Is anybody else disoriented by the minecraft-esque proximity of biomes in this show? In this episode we have the Enclave scientist guy go in presumably a semi-straight line toward his destination starting from snowy mountains then to barren sand dunes and then to lush green woodlands, none of which are implied to be very far apart in-universe going off its apparent timeline of events.
There’s a good explanation for this actually. The characters in this show inherited the ability to fast travel from the cast of Game of Thrones, that they relied on heavily in the later seasons of that show. It also set in a similar voxel universe to games like Minecraft, 7 Days to Die, and Valheim. But really, you make a great point. It was pretty jarring to see such abrupt changes in the climate/environment that he traveled through in such a short amount of time.
Following up why is this entire show built upon super convenient coincidences? Idiot bumbling scientist JUST SO happens to meet the only idiot vault girl in the entire wasteland smart enough to sleep on the ground, in the open with a lit fire??? And then he just sits there next to her watching her sleep, waiting for her to wake up so he can make his dramatic entrance speech... Are these guys so comfortable, no danger in the wasteland? I mean of course they could add their 'le dog hero moment kills rad roach woofers so much wholesome' scene to push heart strings of the average drone... its like they couldn't write a good reason for the scientist to meet the vault girl so they just teleport next to each other in a wasteland of gigantic size.
I was thinking the same thing when watching this episode. When the scientist got to the forest I was like "Wait, wasn't he in the middle of the vast desert last night?" As far as I know, that's not really how the American Southwest works.
@@Darkington I understand that, but yeah let's just change established lore and add a weird deep voice to the brotherhood that was NEVER established before for the sake of a plot point. The whole Maximus plot line was stupid anyway, I would've scrapped that storyline altogether.

The thing that confused me about the town is why they are building with jagged scrap that poses a serious health risk when they're literally in a forest, why didn't they just build out of wood and reinforce it later?
Bethesda cannot conceptualise the idea that looting scrap is not a sustainable practice 200 years later. In addition to this, why are they using caps? Water is probably so abundant that the water traders likely don't have much sway.
Because "It's just like le settlements you guys! SO LORE ACCURATE BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE EVERY PIECE OF SHIT TOWN IN F4!" Considering the prop work I am fully convinced that this was the assignment they were given. Bethesda warned the town to look like a Brazilian favella because that's what one expects from a fallout town.
The fact that this show has made some Neanderthals say that " Fallout 4 is the best Fallout it might even be better than New vegas" pisses me off , and gives me the belief that most people can't actually see quality
But guyyyyyysssss! *Todd Howard* make excuses for the lore inconsistencies! On *TWITTER* of all places! That's how you know it's official and that everyone was on the same page the *whole* time, guys! When a guy who doesn't even *write* the lore in the games is the guy who has take to social media to explain away shit the show says.
...Why does Bethesda hate Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas lore so much? I could understand indifference, maybe even angst and jealously over how much better writers Black Isle and Obsidian are compared to them, but in this show all Bethesda is doing is shitting all over what Fallout once was.
Not just fallout, they do the same things to the elder scrolls. Vvardenfell, one of the most popular settings in the elder scrolls, was destroyed when the red mountain erupted. The nervarine went off to akivir and was never heard from again. Sheogorath was actually menacing, and then he became a cheese obsessed meme.
Bethesda hates the original games F1 F2 FNV and their creators they want to erase and destroy because Bethesda’s Fallout have bad writing and even they’re fans can’t even remember any good writing in their games it’s just wow this is very cool and the explanation is either bad or doesn’t make any sense and sometimes Bethesda even retcon their own games. They could have just hired the original creators and they would have made a profit but Todd and Emil’s ego can’t handle that they’re even involved with telling the Directors what to do. 😂😂😂
"This wasteland sucks!" It's only been like this for 219 years. For perspective, President Thomas Jefferson was making the Louisiana purchase with Napoleon 219 years ago back in 1805.
It's baffling how people are still conviced this is the best videogame show adaptation of all time lmao, we truly deserve the Fallout franchise going to hell. Hopefully microsoft one day will give the ip to another studio (not necessarilly to Obsidian) to handle the games instead of Bethesda

@@filthygaijin6566 Didn't Oxhorn actually critique TV show slightly? I heard he unlike Critical Drinker or TK Mantis actually added slight critique of the show
The more I see of this show, the more I realize that it isn't an adaptation of Fallout; it's more an adaptation of the average Bethesda Fallout PLAYTHROUGH that Nolan and his wife went through. The constant blaring of 50s music, environmental skellingtons that go nowhere, it's literally a beat for beat copy of the Fallout 3/4 experience.
its a cheap walton goggins f*ckfest. he got too much role in this show than he deserves. on top of that, they made his character a bulletproof son of a gun. no ghoul freak would be able to defeat a heavily armored brotherhood detachment single handedly, its just brahmin shit.
That's quite remarkable isn't it? Fallout 2: President died, lost their best soldier, lost their headquarters and their Oil rig, 50% of their soldiers desserted. Fallout 3: basically the same thing. At this point i have to root for them. These guys are quite literally unkillable.
And the thing Michael Emerson researches doesn't even make sense. In any way at any point. Why would he need lots of research a thing to make nuclear fusion work when it already worked and was used. And now for some reason literally powers power armours. As well as whole vaults. Nothing makes sense.
Haha yeah. It sure is fucking dumb that the Enclave is back in full force! I sure do hope that they at least do something meaningful instead of just being name-dropped for member berries. Spoiler!! After scientist man escapes with Dogmeat, we literally don't see or hear of them again for the rest of the season (:
He threw that brick like that. Imagine if he just picked up a handful of nuts and bolts and just Nolan Ryan’d them at a group of enemies. Basically, Knights don’t even need weapons. If Knights are guarding a gate, just have a large bin full of ball bearings for them to chuck at their enemies. Save on ammo. Scrap is abundant.
It's so disheartening watching so many people praise this slop because it surpassed their low expectations. It's literally the RLM Star Wars bit of "I clapped when I saw it".
I don't see how this clownshow could pass anyone's expectations no matter how low they were. The characters are managing to stand up on their own, that's a good thing I guess? The props aren't falling apart on camera, I suppose. I have seen better quality machinimas made with zero budget for a hobby, with better props and way better writing. But that's probably because those people actually gave a damn about what they were doing, as opposed to these millenial hacks.
its the new "cowardly/pathetic black character that gets carried by the strong female protagonist" funny that these are the people that complain about racism, yet they write racial stereotype characters
Half the people in my subs are saying how great the show is and the other half is pointing out all the problems that make it bad. The worst are the people writing the show for bethesda trying to explain all the inconsistencies to show how good the show really is.
Just for comparison, the show is so full of plot holes that viewers are trying to tie everything up and they actually succeeded in one or two cases. Such as the "arrow argument" for the fall of Shady Sands. Todd canonized the fucking explanation of the "if there is an arrow pointing it means it happened later", in fact he stated the bombs didn't drop in 2277 but immediately after New Vegas. How convenient, isn't it?
@@thefemboyslayer Honestly even more charitable interpretation of that board makes no sense. Yes NCR was in sort of decline in NV but not to the point of becoming petty raiders. One thing I’ve noticed is that most of the people saying the show is good and “respects the lore” are normies and people who’s first fallout game was F4 or F76.
The weirdest part for me is that some of these self-proclaimed Fallout fans are now shitting on the original games by Interplay and defending every retcon and inconsistency in the show with mental gymnastics. Have they ever thought that without Fallout 1&2 and it's lore there wouldn't be Fallout 3, 4, 76 and this show? Every dumb, cringy moment "makes total sense" to them, you just gotta use common sense! China didn't start the Great War, it was greedy capitalists, Myron didn't create Jet, that's why you can find it in pre-war stashes! Guys, just use common sense while Bethesda is using BoS for the 100th time as their poster boys and Enclave as puppy-killing monsters, which is, now that I'm thinking about it, probably not so bad, because when Emil Pagliarulo tries to come up with something original we get The Institute (Bladerunner-esque synths do NOT fit the retro-futuristic style of Fallout, just look at how other robots look like - Mr. Handy, Sentry Bots, Robobrains, etc.). "Who cares about the lore if the show is fun?" is another argument I saw recently. Well, maybe actual Fallout fans care about the lore and people pretending to be Fallout fans are treating it like something insignificant?
It is good, my first gameplay was fo3 but my first time being introduced to fallout was watching my uncle play the OGs games. I also play the OG games and the creators of the OG games said they didn't really know what else to do with the fallout lore or if there was even going to be a fallout 3. I have not seen anyone shitting on the OG games. From what I can tell a lot of them want to try the older ones but the gameplay mechanics are too intimidating for them, is the only case I've seen. And idk why we're splitting up the community as who's the "most loyal fans" why? That shit is weird af, let ppl enjoy their games but don't be an ass about it. It's good we're getting new fallout fans, and guess what? You can still play the OG games without playing the newer ones, no big deal. People can have their opinions, I watch the video and agree with some things he said but I still think the show was done right in my own opinion. I just don't understand the whole who's more loyal to the lore, there are some people that just don't care about stories and want to blow shit up, nothing's wrong with that, they're just enjoying themselves. And there's nothing wrong with having a good or bad opinions, the fan split is unnecessary. And yes I think the lore is messed up thanks to fucking Emil, but if you want people to care about the lore don't be an ass, maybe?

I've seen a lot of people say the various characters (especially Lucy and Maximus) "fail upwards"... But they don't. Things just happen. And they "benefit"... insofar as the narrative advances. Coincidence and happenstance is the bread and butter of this show.
I mean maximus really does fail upwards, lucy gets saved by convience. Maximus straight up fails, multiple times, and other people show up to save him and give him some way to succeed.
The Enclave apparently, gives quests to main land settlers. What ever happened to the no contact rule, and wheres this Enclave base? In the main land? On the surface? What?! Also of course Bethesda just can’t let go of them
Enclave is the perfect boogeyman for them. Patriotic nationalist villains whit percieved millitary superiority so anyone who fights them is an underdog. They love them because they can just make them into cartoon boogeymen. But they absolutely ruined the point whit them, if the Brotherhood is NOW a poorman's enclave, then what is the Enclave? The enclave's entire schtick was patriotism, wtf is the Brotherhood then? They ruined their own factions like r3tards.
It's like a microcosm of Bethesda's shitty writing: they've been destroyed twice now, yet they just keep coming back because Bethesda's vision of Fallout needs a bad guy, and they can't be bothered to create a new one. Things in the world can't ever progress, because that would require actual writing to keep things interesting, which Bethesda is simply incapable of. Get used to BoS vs. Enclave for all eternity.
You know, watching this video early before all the comments come in and hearing your and Pagan's comments about ambience and music made me realize why I love old Fallout so much. I had never really thought about it, but I think its why it's so enchanting. I had never really thought about it. And if you'll allow me to just write this down. I think it's why The Lonesome Road DLC still legitimately makes me shiver so much while games that try harder to do that and more simply don't. You walk through not destruction, but desolation while you hear Metallic Monks, letting you notice the "nothing but something" all around you. You're pulled into the apocalypse, you feel like you're there. You feel the... not fear, but the uncertain wonder as you take in where you are. Its a gentle luring of your imagination, you just can't help but dream about everything, just why it is as it is. You can just about hear the nuclear sirens even if none are playing in-game, and even if you've taken your headphones off. Its why its so jarring to then go into a less moody location and hear happier jingles, or just hear the the happier tunes while patrolling the wastelands, its such a stark contrast to what the game ingrains in you that you can't help but naturally let it become muffled. You've realized that the tone of those songs is a distortion of... reality? It's why Fallout 4, 76 and the show just aren't the same. It is why they fell so different. Its why they feel so wrong and makes us lash out so hard at things in them that may not always justify such a the response. Because Bethesda Fallout (not entirely counting 3 in this instance) is just... wrong. It became exactly what old Fallout didn't want to be. Bethesda Fallout became what the factions of old Fallout were. That is, distorted imitations of what once was. They knew how it was, but not why it was. They knew that the theme was 50's aesthetics, but not that the aesthetics were little more than a downright insult to societies permanently stuck in the past, so they embraced it. They took away that... feel. They knew that it had it had cheery and humorous moments, so they turned it into a mockery, not realizing they were the mockery themselves. Its why the Fallout show makes me so sad, and why the people standing by it make me want to weep. There was desolation, not destruction. Now there is destruction, not desolation.
So is Fallout kinda like a warning? To not be stuck in the past or reject ideas that may help further the species instead of embracing the status quo and old ideas even when those ideas have not helped everyone, to the point we end up destroying civilisation as we know it?
The fallout youtubers (Oxhorn, Angry Turtle, Uranium Fever, TNG, etc.) are all defending the show. Even though they're more familiar with the lore than most. They've completely sold out, and their subscribers are too braindead to see it.
Yea, this happened with 76 too. Oxhorn and Juicehead were both saying how great it was. Juicehead literally was selling game keys for it on Amazon. That’s the reason I unsubbed both of them. Fallout channels are incentivized to say how great any and everything that comes out is. They can’t say “this sucks don’t watch it” because then they don’t have content
Bethesda finally completed the enshitification of the Brotherhood of Steel. They're all a bunch of backwards, stupid, religious nutty, cruel, cowards now. Also why do the squires wear no armor at all? Does anyone remember Brotherhood Armor, from Fallout 1 and 2, that non power-armored Brotherhood troops wore, and which was the best non-power-armor in the game?
That combat armor carried me through the quest that allows you to get powered armor. Bethesda didn't even bother to include Fallout 4's combat armor. He's basically just wearing a pair of suspenders and a sweater.
About armor, technically it's accurate no? After F1,2, in F3,NV,4 the squires only use recon armor no? Maybe my memory is just bad but I swear they stopped using combat esque armor in 3,NV,4, it's either power armour or recon armour or the scribes clothes, nothing else
Right? Even the Enclave in Fallout 2 had light infantry (clad in combat armor and armed with a laser rifle or G11) stationed at Navarro. But then in 3, every last footsoldier (Whether Brotherhood, Enclave or Outcast) wears power armor.
20:00 Best faith interpretation of the familys death, that my wife mentioned when she saw it, is maybe they survived the blast, then killed themselves to avoid the painful slow death radiation gives you. 31:40 In the bottom center of the screen in this wideshot we see the billboard that is a ruined on that has the Vault of the future ad from Fallout 1 and 2. Fun fact, the ad they used in the show isnt from the original games at all. It was an art asset that was remade from the ground up by the folks at Project Arroyo Fallout 2 in Fallout 4 and they were given zero credit for it. The mod devs noticed and posted it on their discord.

Fallout 1 & 2 had among the very best eerie ambient tracks I have ever heard. To the point that listening to the soundtracks back to back legitimately has a detrimental effect on my mental stability. I will never forgive Bethesda for abandoning the tribal/inudstrial ambient and going all in on the Oldies, WHICH WERE USED ONCE PER GAME DURING THE INTRO FOR THE EFFECT OF IRONIC JUXTAPOSITION.
No wonder I almost never turn on the radio in 3D releases. Songs were always an immersion breakers for me. Ambient music all the way! But you know what else is worth doing? Turning any soundtrack off. The difference in atmoshpere is HUGE.

Yes. Its the Deadpool curse. All violence and suffering is now comic relief. Of course when they rarely try to make it serious it falls flat because they've already primed the viewer to laugh at it. Its pervasive throughout mainstream media. A reddit attitude towards violence. A weak way of coping with the fact that violence absolutely terrifies them. To contrast; Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now and Stanley Kubricks Full Metal Jacket are both horrifically brutal and yet often funny films. The difference is that the joke isnt the violence itself, its not "look at this wacky absurdity, isnt violence wacky and absurd", its "look at these insane people living in hell" and the viewers response can be either horror or humor depending on their personal disposition.

I have a theory people are defending it because of the novelty of a live action big-budget fallout show and they’re so distracted by that they’re not paying attention to the writing and characters being dogshit. It was like that for me at least

So, by Bethesda's own rules, for *any* of the knights to be where they are, they would need to have gotten there because the Elder promoted them personally. So, either the show *retconned* this change to the lore and the BoS can promote squires to knights without his say, or, the show is so poorly written that the Elder is promoting shitty people to knighthood then complaining about the people he himself would have had to promote.

Most of the reviewers are just tourists who have no idea or even touched the older games or are the type of people that really don't why NV is so loved.

And now Ghouls are taking a certain drug to stop themselves from going feral???

@@BlackChad792 It is very much "and then" writing rather than "therefore" for most of the plot.

SO LORE ACCURATE BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE EVERY PIECE OF SHIT TOWN IN F4!"
Considering the prop work I am fully convinced that this was the assignment they were given. Bethesda warned the town to look like a Brazilian favella because that's what one expects from a fallout town.

"Kill puppies"
Violence and gore set to unfitting music being played entirely too loudly, is what this show does for comedy.

yea, but even the elder got mad about this. He literally said that BoS has went off the rails. I dont really see whats wrong about that. Some of them might be brave, some would not be brave.
@@whitefatalis2743
The ones who are not brave, would not be made knights. According to Fallout 4, Todd's own rules, say that only the Elder of the chapter can promote anyone. Dance, a paladin, tells the player character he WOULD promote you to knight if he COULD, but that it's the decision of Elder Maxson and he mentions *no one* else.
I don't know how you could watch the entire yao guai sequence (including the "give me the stimрack you little bitch" follow uр) and then seriously say "Hey, this show is great!".
I think I get it. The Fallout show is a parody of Fallout 4, which itself was a parody of Fallout.
I'm actually rather upset that so many reviewers and creators are giving this show a pass. Shadivisity is one of the few actually calling out the issues with the show. Everyone acts like the problems are limited only to contradictions in lore and are ignoring any of the glaring problems with the writing. It's like everyone's brain turns off because it's Fallout.
Most of the reviewers are just tourists who have no idea or even touched the older games or are the type of people that really don't why NV is so loved.
Warhammer fans have been dealing with these types of people trying to enter the hobby without respecting it for decades at this point. Now we get to see it happen with gaming.
@sup1602 If was just that it would be one thing. But we are seeing veterans of the franchise, fans of the series, gamers, and critical reviewers giving this show a pass. I mean these people aren't tourists by any definition and this isn't their first time reviewing a TV show based on a game series they like. It's almost like everyone feels obligated to give this show a pass when they didn't for others.
The fact that you can count on one hand the youtubers who expose the show for what it really is is just sad. People just want to consume and don't think.
@@sup1602To put this into perspective, the same people who called out the Halo show for disrespecting the franchise are praising this show for being respectful. If it was just Bethesda fans and people unfamiliar witht the series I wouldn't be that frustrated as that is what I would expect. Just listening to the scenes while working. Titus sounds like he failed upward. The writing is terrible. Power Armor is apparently useless. They brought back the worst weapon design besides the pipe guns from Fallout 4. All they do press the nostalgia button. The actors are attempting to do their best with what they have.
Saw a comment on Tk Mantis’ video praising the show that, “It’s like Maximus is playing with the Wild Wasteland perk on!”
