i can confirm that it is. i mean at least where i am from (north florida) every grandma home i ever visited, it didn't matter what race or religion, they all had homes very much like this one. i guess there comes a point in life, for some people at least, where you just turn into a hobbit, where you value comfort and good food as well as good company. i might have hit that stage earlier than most people. i was the baby of the family which meant i couldn't keep up with the big kids. that also meant i had to stay home with granny or memaw. if we weren't cooking something tasty we were watching "the stories" lol much later on, at the age of twenty, one of my friends gave me a rough time because i was bragging about all the new flowers i'd just planted in my garden. he accused me of being an old lady. i got new friends after that.
Your place really feels much more like a cottage (or a hobbit hole) than like an apartment! Very beautiful and cozy ❤️ I love the decorations and the pictures / prints on your walls, and that little table at the window is sooooo wonderful - how relaxing it must be to just sit there and have a nice breakfast while enjoying the sun! I'm a little jealous 😉😘
This is just the way I would like my home to me. Absolutely lovely. Every nook corner has a story to tell. I loved the way you treasure your mother's SINGER sewing machine and your Raleigh bicycle. I love your four poster, and the miniature sail boat, the quarter moon on the wall , Mother goose and lots of teddy bears, memories of dear Nola on the wall, the patchwork quilt and best of all the music you chose..all of it took me to an era of graciousness and refinement. Seeing the paintings above the couch, I was struck by how similar they were to the landscapes my grandmother painted. Then I saw the brown county cookbook and think it’s actually possible at least one of those may have been painted by her as she was a very prolific painter in that general area of the country (not well known but highly productive).
I had to chuckle when you shared your partner's mountain bike...I ride a lavender cruiser with white wall tires and big basket in front and my hubby rides a mountain bike. I like cruising on our towpath along the canal and he is the adrenaline junkie riding the hills nearby. I love your energy and your decor!

That was The Very BEST home video tour! The soft background music and slowly panning the room on your decor and treasure. I LOVE You're place! Modern decor just doesn't feel cozy and warm. But I'm very uncomfortable that management enters without warning. I hope you've moved or sorted that out.
Your apartment is so lovely! I can feel the warmth, presence, and the care that went into creating your special home. Losing a beloved pet is so hard, but I'm happy you can still cherish all those prized memories with her. Seeing the little alter you have in her memory reminded me of the many nods to my grandma in my home, who passed away last February. And also reminded me of my cat Whiskers who lives with my parents. I miss her when I'm away. I also wanted to share we have a Moomin postcard in common! My penpals in Finland send me Moomin stuff when they can sometimes
absolutely in love. i feel like i've just time traveled back to my childhood with this brief little tour. as a kid i was bounced from one grandma to the next. even stayed with a few great grandmas, grandma's from friends, elderly cousins and aunts or uncles etc. even our landlords from when i was really REALLY young were like grandparents...and i learned whether or not i'd be comfortable ina place based on the décor. if i wasn't comfortable then i would find a room and stay in it and draw pictures until my mom came and got me. most of those places didn't have television. but if they had knickknacks and art i was happy. if they had a cat or dog and a backyard i was in 7th heaven lol as an adult i rarely get to see things like this outside of my own place. my mother in law treats her home like a museum. very clean and minimalistic. lots of white and tile. kinda boring. thrift stores and antique shops are always a treat. even Goodwill is a decent place to find these things. but they make me feel sad. i know these things were someones treasures and they were cast aside when they passed away.
