How would Isopropyl acetone work? I've used it to remove gunk before.
This is late but I’m curious if this method also works on auto glass? I have a lot of adhesive on the glass roof portion of my car
QUESTION ???? DOES 1 OF THOSE SPONGES THAT YOU USE TO REMOVE ((LOVE BUGS)) OR PLAIN BUGS ON THE FRONT OF YOUR CAR WORK TO TAKE IT OFF ???
will gasoline damage the clear coat? i have old dried up tape on my carbon fiber trunk and really don’t want to damage the finish
Man, you're a lifesaver.
Awesome Randy. I'm glad my video was helpful. Thanks for stopping by!
what type of gas to use?, unleaded petrol or diesel? im from the uk thanks.
@Obbard Productions - I used unleaded petrol, not diesel for this project. I didn't try diesel so I have no idea if that would give the same result. Hope that helps you, let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for stopping by!
@@javosgarage Thanks for the help mate, I've got to remove some baked on masking tape from upvc windows that have been spray painted, so hopefully this will work.
Thanks.
@Obbard Productions - You're very welcome! I have never tried the unleaded petrol method on UPVC before so I would suggest you test a small, inconspicuous area to see how it does first. Just to be safe. I wouldn't want you to damage anything. Better safe than sorry.
Thanks I have just tried it and it really works
Great to hear!
I have lots of duck tape residue around back windshield window since I had plastic back there do to tree falling on car and breaking windshield. What ripe of sponge and do I use just regular gasoline?
What about masking tape residue? Do you think white gasoline such as Zippo lighter fluid would work? because I need something lighter than gasoline being that its only masking tape residue and don't wanna damage the paint on my truck?
I would use isopropal alcohol in the plastics and take your time, because the gas will probably damage them quickly, but thanks for the cool idea!
I have a van with blue tape residue but it is on rubber window seals and also the vehicle is only primed, will the gas effect the paint or rubber?
my man is god tier this is very useful
Wow, now THAT is a compliment... thank you! Super glad to hear this was helpful for you. I appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me some feedback.
Hi, does this work with masking tape?
Hey I Just Watched The Video While Trying To Remove Residue From My Car.. I Didnt Have Gasoline But I Did Have Lighter Fluid From The Grill.. Doesnt Work As Fast But Did A Way Better Job Than The Soapy WAter And Bleach Cleaner I Was Using
Worked like a charm! Saved me hours! Thank you so much!
Super awesome! I'm glad to hear this worked for you. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me some feedback - much appreciated!
Excited to try it out!! Thank you!!
You're welcome John, I hope it works for you.
Omg...Thank you so much. I put Christmas lights on my Ambulance so I could drive it in the parade. And I've been scrubbing my butt off with all types of cleaning from the kitchen bathroom and carpet cleaning products. So again thank you, Finna get a gas can because my Ambulance uses Diesel
Thank you for posting this. Probably a silly question but does it matter if you use Regular unleaded or Premium gas? I guess gas is gas.
It shouldn't matter. I just used the same gas I put in my mower.
Many thanks, petrol worked brilliantly!😊
Awesome Mike, glad to hear it worked for you. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me some feedback.
Worked easier than heck . How did I not know this lol
@Jason Swenders - Super glad to hear this method worked well for you Jason! I know I was amazed at how well this worked for me. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!
Will this work on Flex Seal Tape as well?
hmm i don't really want to try using gasoline. i read rubbing alcohol will work so i might try that first. was about to try wd-40 but sadly you said it's not very effective.
@://SyCx1 Productions - I hear ya! I was really reluctant but I was desperate to find something that would be effective and quick. This process was both of those. Naturally, you just have to be really careful because your dealing with a very flammable liquid but I was able to remove my duct tape with no issues whatsoever. Although I have not tried it someone did comment that diesel would work as well so that may be an option to consider. I have used WD-40 to remove many adhesives from paint before so I was really disappointed when it failed to do the job in this case, even GoofOff was ineffective. I wish you the best on your project. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!
I have minimal duck tape residue in my van from my lovely husband and dad taping a bag to it 🤦🏻♀️🙄 I’m so glad I came across this. Thank you, after listening to everything I had to say, let’s just say they will no longer be doing this 😂
I'm glad you found my video too Stephanie. I hope it works great for you. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment.
Holy crap thank you to you and your friend. Saved my paint.
Does it also work for residue after decal removal?
@Jus for fans Tv - I have used this method several times to remove adhesive left from decals. I bet it will work for you as well. Good luck on your project. Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you sir. Great work.
Wont this method damage the paint/clearcoat?
@Dino Tom - I have used this method on several different vehicles with no problems. I’ve had several friends and visitors to my channel try it as well with success. If you want to be extra careful, try it in a inconspicuous area first. When your done make sure to clean the area and apply a coat of wax for some protection. I don’t know about you but I’ve spilt gas many times over the years down the side of my vehicles with no damage. Ultimately, you have to make the judgement call. Hope that helps you a bit, thanks for stopping by!
THIS IS AMAZING. Thank you so much!

I’ve got an old tape outline on my tail light. Is there anyway to remove it? Tried detailed, water, rubbing alcohol, goof off and can’t get it to go away.
