I love the sticky heel. finally a boot that won't cause me any heel slippage! Oh I have no problem putting them on cos I loosen the laces all the way before putting my feet in, like an adult
- It has a nylon half-shank beneath the insole for extra 'spring' when running; the top of the Morelia silo has the same half-shank. The MIJ version of the Alpha has a carbon fibre half-shank, which is significantly springier (and more expensive). - There's a bit of EVA foam in the midsole, the same proprietary foam Mizuno uses in their running shoes. It's for shock absorption and energy return, in theory. - The Elite's upper is a bit thicker than the MIJ version. The Elite also lacks the grippy coating of the MIJ upper. - The extra lace hole at the top is for doing a runner's knot.
Great review! As for putting them on, it looks like you didn’t undo the laces enough. I picked up a pair of MIJ’s in Tokyo and the guy showed me that you need to really need really open up the first 3 lace spots to easily slide your foot in so you don’t get stuck in the heel grip. It is still a bit of a hassle to have to do that, but the benefit of the grip is that they feel like I’m always wearing the best pair of grip socks, even when I’m not wearing grip socks at all. I do wish they had a one-piece upper instead of that tongue.

ASICS and these are top notch. I’d say the ASICS are a bit more on the snug side of things. Like perfect fit. I found the alphas giving me a bit of toe space. Not enough to size up tho. I really like how they both fit. But I’m only using a thicker socks with the alphas. With ASICS, I’m using either a thin or thick sock. Both are excellent tho.
I know these are listed as FG cleats but was betting they would work on AG as well since the studs were triangular rather than slices. Given your review on how much traction it gives you, would you advise against using these on AG?
@@maximilianheidang1469 hi, i tried them. Me personally go to half size up for the wide feet and it fit perfectly. If it is long for some people, i recommend you wear the grip sock. The mizuno feel amazing. I did the mizuno alpha japan ag. The fg version will be longer.

It was more the stickiness of the heel rather than the lacing system that made them slightly more annoying to put on. Not a huge deal though

The studs are actually really aggressive and allow for very little rotation, I don’t think they’d be suitable for AG.
There is an ag version of this boot. Bit tough to find in North America but they do exist
Is these cleats suitable for goalkeepers? I have wide feet and I am looking for cleats which gives me comfort and stability on the ground.
Would probably go the New Balance wide fit version of the 442 or Tekela, or the predator accuracy. Good luck!

Yes, i got a whole size down for alpha elites and its perfectly tight. But to be safe just go a half size down.
