I dont remember last time I've ever had this but it's been several, several yrs. I remember not driving and it made me so sad to not even be able to eat Asian food, lol. I just made some today but cooked everything down in a glass oven convenient, cooking ware type thing. It still turned out pretty bomb tho. Sweet (from the onions), salty (fish sauce), spicey (chillis) & just nice healthy fulfilling moosh.
Sorry to hear about your mom tho. Made me remember how when my aunt passed from cancer. Asians eat so much spice, I remember how the Dr. advised her to stop, ha. She didn't tho. Rip anyways.

Nana, this is just a suggestion you may have done this already! But since you cook a lot and is dedicated to showing us all, you can get a tripod that can hold your phone or camera! It'll be so much easier for you! 😄

Jennifer Solomon the "kohk and sahk" (mortar and pestle) can be found at most southeast Asian (Lao, Thai, Hmong, Vietnamese) markets. The set costs about $15 - $20. If you buy online, the shipping cost will be a lot more.

half tea spoon would be too small amount, it should be half table spoon or even 1 or 2 table spoon of fish sauce would be better

Half teaspoon 🤔 are you sure nana? 😂 more like half tablespoons or maybe even a whole tablespoon 😅

😆 You have to look at the fine print. I don't use the whole amount in the small bowls.
