CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Superman (Henry Cavill) destroys Ludlow's (Ian Tracey) truck after resisting the urge to fight him in the bar.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
As the planet of Krypton crumbles, General Zod (Michael Shannon) stages a coup as concerned leader Jor-El (Russell Crowe) and his wife send their infant son Kal-El to a distant world called Earth. While the young child travels through space with an object containing the DNA of his home planet, General Zod and his cohorts are sentenced to an eternity in a black-hole prison. Named Clark and raised by kindly farmers Jonathan (Kevin Costner) and Martha Kent (Diane Lane), young Kal-El lives in fear of what might happen should his neighbors learn about his extraterrestrial origins, eventually exploring the world in search of himself. In time, Clark's travels take him to a frozen tundra, where the American government has discovered an 18,000-year-old anomaly buried deep in the ice. Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane (Amy Adams) has just come to investigate when, after venturing out with her camera, she has a profound encounter with Clark. Convinced that his presence on Earth is proof of life on other planets, Lois finds her attempt to publish the story thwarted by her boss Perry White (Laurence Fishburne), who rejects it outright. Later, the airwaves are hijacked by General Zod, who threatens to obliterate the human race if they fail to hand over Kal-El within 24 hours. Forced to embrace his otherworldly origins for the first time in his life, Clark Kent dons the special suit from Krypton and prepares to take a stand against an enemy far more powerful than any he's ever known.

we missed a great fight scene...
Epic comments
Underrated comment
This is scene that is FAR more interesting than people give it credit for. Clark had been living his whole life exercising discipline to not attack humans who negatively engage with him. However, in this scene, the lady being harassed got in front of him and told him it wasn’t worth it. It almost seems that Clark was actually going to fight back, and this lady steered him away. This shows how human he really is. He very well might have cracked here…he has the powers of a god, but the brain and soul of a human. This film is more than a story about a guy with powers.
Absolutely agreed this entire movie is a masterpiece and my fav solo superhero film
Nah. Clark was always in control. But she didn't know that. Most guys in Clark's position there would not have restraint, and so she just assumed he would behave the way any normal human would've. Clark has dealt with tougher situations than this random jerk.
There were several moments in the film where he struggles with wanting to exercise his strength while being intimidated. But he's constantly nurtured by positive and responsible people, molding him into the hero we all know him to be. He only cuts loose when there is no other option and the Kryptonians show up and with Zod at the very end. The movie has the positive messaging that you would expect in a super hero movie. It doesn't get enough credit. People instead just laser focused on the surface imagery of things like killing Zod, but fail to see the whole story was leading up to this kind of moment where he had to let go of his restraint because the danger was too great. MoS is a great movie! Underrated and not deserving of what befell this Superman iteration. It will be redeemed though! Very soon
This movie is exactly about a guy with god like powers. A guy that achieved mediocrity rather than settling for it.

I always hear people say this film gets better with time. It doesn’t “age” better with time, it was always this great of a movie that got unnecessarily sh** on upon release and shortly after because it was the cool thing to do by all the elitist nerds and mcu fanboys who think they have to “choose a side”.
This film has some of the best looking fight scenes I’ve seen of any super hero movie with the way they integrated the cgi with the shots. Best Superman movie to exist and it’s a damn shame it didn’t get the recognition its getting now right out of the gate cause it set a bad precedent for the rest of the dc cinematic universe.
Dc was always meant to have this sort of dark element to it almost noir like and kids didn’t like that cause it wasn’t set in Malibu with a rich guy tinkering with toys and I’m not hating on iron man (iron man 2008 is my favorite super hero movie to date) I’m just saying that’s the facts of what it is.
This.. franchise tribalism pure media illiteracy &dogshit ignorance helped tank that movies rep.. didn't help matters that edgelord hypocrisy merchants like mark millar &goofy yokels like mark waid REALLY shot it in the foot out of cynical bitterness at WB not choosing their pitches for the next superman movie (for some reason those two have HUGE fan pull &their open letter destroying the movie after its release really hurt it's box office run)
@O-Wolf I had a stroke reading your comment, do everyone a favor and just STFU 😂
I agree 100%. My review at the time of its release gave it 9/10 stars. People are idiots.
Best Man of Steel movie ever. It's so relatable to what humans really do and how they react in different situations. Even the neck snapping part. He had no other choice but to do it. Zod said either he dies or Clark. There was no Phantom Drive around to send him through so he could only do what he was forced to do. Even being forced to fight through Metropolis still had to happen because he was new at major fights. There is just one thing i wouldn't let happen though is let my Dad give himself up to a tornado with him not wanting to reveal the powers. I'd save him anyways unless that was his way of wanting to go out as a heroes death. I still wouldn't do it though.
Imagine that guy did that to Homelander. Homelander would have wiped out his entire family.
If it were regime superman he would've been dead already lmao
Homelander would have just lit up his eyes and cut the guy in half to show just what a coward he his.

I was thinking this as well. Though I am not sure it was a push, the way it starts out he is swinging his arm like a punch, but at the end he has both hands on Clark. Either way, the fact that Clark didn't even flinch should have been a MASSIVE alarm bell going off.
I am reminded of the scene from DBZ where Gohan stops some bank robbers on his first day of high school. One of them punched him in the face, and later say he thought he broke his hand and it felt like punching a brick wall.

I was tempted to swing after I was pissed off once, it would've been so easy, but while the guy was saying "swing, swing, swing" and oh boy I was ready to, but I didn't because who threw the first swing is most likely to be in trouble, so I restrained myself from punching the guy
@@blackman5183 He wasn't talking about Clark kent
Lies again? Worth Wurth
Same here but if a person take it too far then ima have to do the same thing
Usually, if a troublemaker stands up and the other guy is towering over you, with a chest span like the Great Wall of China, any normal troublemaker would stand down, but this dude must be ignorant AND crazy.
Liquid courage I’m guessing
agreed😁
More like "drunk"
I don't know why I read that as the Geralt Wall of China.
Great wall of China. 🤣😂🤣😂
I don’t know but I think he was the most handsome actor ever to be casted as Superman.
The Boys series made me realize how much this guy holds back.
I love the look on Clarks face after the guy pushes him, its like an older brother sighing with disappointment as he is about to teach his sibling a hard lesson
I think the look was I'm sick of these humans.
@@ConsiderTheCrows but not all the humans he’s encountered are as obnoxious as this guy, his mom and dad were loving and it seems like he get along with some of him coworkers
Not everyone is like this.
Was probably thinking about how to hit him without blowing his body parts all over the place.
I really liked the mental struggle clark is having in this movie. He seems to be constantly brooding about his place on this planet. There seems to be an edginess where clark is torn apart between the idea that he can be a better human being and the fact that he has powers beyond the control of anyone on earth. It was a nice movie. It is special to me.
Agreed out of all the mistakes DC has made in their cinematic universe, is isn't one of them. I bought this movie day 1. I'll always love every minute of it. "They will race after you"
I have this on my DVR, I find myself watching it often.
Ravi Mahara it was the best superhero movie! IMO
@Ben Tackett definitely worth watching it.
Do u relate to it or something
Do u have powers too
Clark showed great restraint which is admirable. People are upset that he destroyed the truck though. I think it shows he's still growing as a person, he doesn't even know who he is yet.
My God you're so dumb.
People who can stay cool and stand humiliation like that are actually dangerous. They'll act when you're not expecting and the payback will be deadly. Superman is dangerous.
That's real power. Restraint. When you know you could but choose not to because it's so easy and restriction is so much harder. But morally the right choice. And you would only be viewed as the bully for self defense. One of the very few scenes I liked in this movie.
One of the better scenes, yes, but the movie was pretty damn good.
@@drexlspivey29 Idiot. People have the freedom to have their opinion about movies.
Drexel Spivey Clark should’ve just pushed him why didn’t he?
Actually, i doesn't make any difference what he did or not, the only thing that matters is what is right or wrong. Believe me that's the toughest thing to decide because people all over the world is yet to decide. In this case, it wasn't right to walk away, such people should be taught lesson in public to make them better human being and not to take revenge.
He was hiding his powers that's all.
hahaha lmao bruh 😂😂😂 lol
FireOccator 😂😂😂😂
corny
Hahahaha!!!
Yup.
😂😂😂
Can you imagine being like, "Yeah, I met Superman one day," as you reflect back on this day.
The guy almost broke her hand trying push Clark IMAOO 😂😂😂
Even if he wasnt superhuman clarck is still towering and as wide as a coke machine....why tf would you pick a fight w him
How's that? Pretty sure the guy talking shit to him looked a lot worse.
J Logan Ikr
Exactly
J Logan
U can still win a fight
0:33 The look on his face when Clark doesn't move back.
I wonder if, later on in life, he remembers his truck and realizes it was Superman he was trying to pick a fight with.
The moment he realizes that, he would have goosebumps remembering he was mocking Superman
No. Most people don't realize Clark Kent is Supes.
@@KoeSeer yea Clark's very good at it but here he just crushed that man's truck. He would at least get a hint that it's not a normal human being doing
Realistically this dude should've broken his hand😂.
@@KoeSeer he didn't have his magical fairy glasses
Now, imagine if it were either Brightburn, Homelander or Omni-Man instead
Omni man would've grab that guy heart and make him eat it
@@amarigamer1192 I understood that reference
One of my favorite scenes
Superman: “Trust me pal,
you’re not that guy, you’re not that guy...”
Turns towards the truck "I am that guy"
Superman: "Trust me, Shorty. Napoleon was defeated...and you're not even close to being him."
Doomsday: **is that guy**
It’s sad because all that Clark has done for humanity, this is sometimes the thanks he receives yet those around him don’t know the truth.
Speaking of the carpenter's son from Nazareth...
That's why he's Superman
Too be fair, every global threat humanity has faced he brought there 😭
He done nothing at all
@@xvs8675 u right lol
One of the best movies
Reminds me of Smalllville when Clark stacked up all of the jock's trucks in the high school lot after they tied him up in the cornfield in the pilot episode.
The dude was damn lucky that the man he just mess with was from Smallville instead of Brightburn.
No he was lucky because it was his employer's truck not his.
Phoo Yeah Lmao 😂
Or else he would've shittin' brick
Or Vought
Brandon would have tore him apart
0:44... the dude flinches when Clark starts to take off his apron 🤣
Blue Tortoise Lmao didn’t notice
Damn. Good eye. I didnt even notice 😂
For what? He was frightened by his own shadow
Probably because he noticed clark had 25 pounds on over him of pure muscle 😅
Removing the apron was a r/biggerthanyouthought moment.
0:34 Like you try to push a wall 😆
Clark is Strong enough to Time Travel him into 2017 to become a Shooting Star Meme just from a Single Push
