The explosion in the SWAT3 scene likely resembled a methane explosion ignited by the firing of your gun. Sewer explosions can actually be pretty devastating, although in most recorded cases they are triggered by prohibited substances in the sewage and not just by the gases from human waste.
I could see that being the case. Problem is that those enemies I was shooting at in the video can shoot and kill you without causing Armageddon so it's a bit jank either way.

I always hated how in fallout 2 after a set time in the wasteland a cutscene of your village's shaman plays and it always scares the living shit ou of me. It even circumvents your volume setting, playing on max volume no matter what!
One game for me that comes to mind with dark cutscenes is Bullfrog's Theme Park. Essentially once you run your park into debt and well into debt enough the game determines you cannot get out of it, it automatically bankrupts you and shows a cutscene of the - presumably the player - jump off the window in the background while the view has the focus on the family picture and at the same time playing the "you have died" song. The character can be seen popping up by the window again at the end but that you would think the player character was going to suicide lol. Talk about a dark bad ending for an otherwise child-friendly game.
You can make an entire video of cheat code such as Age of Empires with the Corvette and a bazooka, or conflict Zone with all of their weird pre-rendered cutscene.

There were quite a lot of stupid cheat codes, especially in Age of Empires, and quite a lot of stupid cheat codes in the EA Sports titles in the late 90s and early 2000s that are very funny. There was a website I used to look up cheat codes just to play around on, it was called CheatCC. Something similar I can think of is the 1st 15 or so seconds of Diddy Kong Racing’s story mode cutscene(s) : th-cam.com/video/E9wEKSA534g/w-d-xo.html The game is all happy, cheerful, and upbeat other than those few seconds. My mom actually recorded me running out of the room crying playing that game when I was 2 or 3. She has it on a VHS tape somewhere. If I can ever get that footage I’m going to upload it lol

6:30 my best guess for what this is, is the gas ignited when the gun was fired and blew up the whole sewers in a massive gas explosion.
