    Richard what I did was to sand all sides of the doors to make up for the paint, same with the hood to install the dash, mount the dash to the underside of the body. Hope this helps. AJ

    Nice job with excellent detailing. I found the pre-painted version of this kit and just finished it! It's red and black two-tone, and the interior is red and white two-tone. The chrome trim is painted on, but I added some additional detailing. I built mine showroom stock as a standard Victoria. I raided my AMT 65 Lincoln Continental kit for the wide whitewall tires:-)

      Wide whites look great on 50s cars

    When I was little, my dad started this exact same model. He was very artistically talented, and I remember being so impressed by his fine detailing of the lettering, and the deep lustrous showroom blue that he used for the body color - it was looking to me exactly like a real car, and it obviously impressed me because I still remember that unfinished model here 40+ years later! He never finished it beyond the chassis and the body, doors and paint job though, and I think the difficulties with the kit hood and dash that you detail in this video have finally helped me understand why! Still, as a young boy I kept that unfinished model in its box for years because I was so in awe of my dad's craftsmanship, and it inspired me to later begin tinkering with model kits myself! I never ach!eved the sheer realistic perfection of that blue Fairlane paint job on my dad's unfinished model, however! Thanks for this video and for adding a footnote to that wonderful childhood memory!

    That is a really nice build all these years later, I love the colors and how you did the two tone outside and inside. What a beautiful job all round regardless of the little problems with the design. Great job tinting the glass roof, I think you got that really close to the original color and it looks great. For the record I dont think I have ever seen an AMT kit where the opening doors functioned perfectly and yours appear to be the best I have ever seen, nice job. Got to say that the music and sound track that you played on this build was excellent, particularly the Ford ad dialogue at the end. Thanks for all your hard work and effort, I really enjoyed watching.

    Excellent build. When you build a 30 year old kit , it makes you realize how much better today’s kits are designed.

    Hi,bought the next generation boxart version of this kit in 1992 I remember,it was exactly the same kit except for the decals,even the instrutcion book aris exactly the same & had all the same issues with building the kit as you had,I later redid it as a mild custom version in the late 90's,I have a buddy who had an original AMT Ertl model catalogue from 1987,this exact boxart of thiskit is featured in that catalogue,great build,keep up the great work,cheers

    I was raised during the 50 s and I don't think they were still offering the glass top in 1956. It seems to me 1954 was the last year for glass top. I just remembered seat belts and padded dash were options in 1956. Looks very good.

    "Irritatingly Noticable" 🤣😅 Yes, the rear quarter windows on a '56 Skyliner did roll up & down. Now this was not a popular car here with hot Texas summer & most cars were not air conditioned at that time, but every one l ever saw had the aqua colored glass. The apple green color you picked is lovely & period appropriate.

    Excellent choice for a model, 1956 Ford Fairlane, with it's awesome 2 tone colors. The green tinted glass in the roof of the car was an option back then, and it was called a Starliner! By the way the blade in your knife should be replaceable, I would double check before you toss it!

    • @Kryptosmaster
      @Kryptosmaster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m sure there’s got to be blades out there for it but I haven’t made a concerted effort to find them yet.

    Hey Richard, awesome build my man. Just in case you didn't know, they do sell standard & wide whitewall waterslide decals for tires....If you're interested in them, I believe Model Roundup carries the decals for the tires instead of using a pen or a brush....have a great weekend.

    Everyone does a kit review and I'm sure that everyone knows what's in the box explaining everything that's in the box takes too long. Nothing is shown how you are putting things together and how they are fitting together do you have any issues in the front suspension didn't hear anything about that how about the rear suspension what colors of paint did you use nothing was explained of what colors you were using and what brand it would be nice to know I've seen quite a few videos and everybody talks too much a little bit more of building a model with some music in the background is a lot better then at the end explain what you went through what problems you had and what you like about the model I think your model is beautiful I love the color I love the interior colors you did an awesome job. A little less talking and a lot more building with music in the background

    • @Kryptosmaster
      @Kryptosmaster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest sometimes I get too into it and forget to record some of the progress and I find myself with the finished model so I have to explain things. As far as the contents of the kit; we’ll that’s the review part. Some folks may not know what to expect as far as parts and assembly. You can fast forward if that bores you. If I knew how to split into chapters I would but it’s a lot of work already doing all the editing. I hope you at least enjoyed part of it. As you can see I’m not making any money doing these. I do it because I like to share the hobby.
