  • So today I am going to talk about the carnival parade that happens in Rio de Janeiro. You can still go to São Paulo, but the best and traditional one is in Rio. Besides Rio, Brazil is huge and there are a lot of cities and places you can go to enjoy the carnival with different music and parades all over Brazil! But today the video is about the Carnival parade that happens every year in a place called sambódromo or Marques de Sapucaí! So let’s start the video.
Outside the Carnival period, the Sambadrome and the Samba Museum, which is in the same place, can be visited for free during the day.
From the month of December onwards, the season for Technical Rehearsals for the Samba schools will be open. These take place during the night of the weekends until just before Carnival, so you can go there tho watch a previous of what the parade could be if you are not going in carnival.
The Sambódromo is divided into sectors numbered from 1 to 13 and divided into even and odd numbers. The even side is close to the Praça Onze subway station and the odd side is close to Central do Brazil Station. The best way to arrive there is by subway or helicopter. Yes, you can go by helicopter depending on your ticket and of course it is much more expensive.
Behind the sectors, both on the odd and even side, there are fast food companies and stores scattered around the Sambódromo with several options for a quick snack. In the stands, there are vendors selling drinks such as water, soda and beer.
Do you already have your ticket for the 2023 Rio de Janeiro Carnival?
Tickets available in all sectors of Marquês de Sapucaí, including special bleachers, numbered bleachers in sector 9, common boxes and covered box. Anticipate your purchase and avoid high prices! You can access the website I will leave in the description an buy your tickets. The best sectors are the camarotes, and usually the food and drinks are included and you can enjoy these amazing experience.
When you are buying your ticket you can see that you will have different dates to go because you have different samba schools. Be aware because you have two groups. The access group, that is like the second division of a soccer league, that will happen on February 17th and 18th. The principal group will do the parade on February 19 and 20th. And 5 days after you have a special parade called the champions parade where the winners will parade again. My advice is, go to the champions parade. It is no so crowded and usually the ticket is cheaper. But It is up to you!

Samba my favorite Latin dance! Better than Cumbia or Salsa. Harder for me to teach to my students too! Another great video Marcelo Obrigada!!

Pior que eu sou carioca... nasci no Rio de Janeiro, mas durante a infância morei no Rio Grande do Sul e tem mais de 9 anos que eu moro em São Paulo...

Thank you for the video. The first link is not working. Is there a difference between those two sites?
