My shrimps were previously frozen. They wouldn’t stand neatly in the plate. I placed half a lemon in the center of the plate and pushed the tip of the skewers in to keep them from moving. The slight lemon flavor was surprisingly good. Thanks for another great recipe, Marion.

Seeing as how we couldn’t find the Szechuan Peppers at our local H-Mart, I decided to make the Steamed Garlic Shrimp last night. Initially I thought , “That’s a lot of garlic”, fearing overpowering tastes. But, adding the white parts on the spring onion, the Shaoxing cooking wine & shoyu sauce made a world of difference. My wife raved over the dish and we both slept well knowing we were protected from vampires 🧛‍♂️ The word “delicious” isn’t sufficient enough to describe the dish. Thank you so much.

Hi Marion, love the way you make this dish! I do have a suggestion: I know different households prepare dishes differently but you can perhaps try heat up some oil to a very high temperature and pour them onto the prawns at the end with the green onions. My family does this and I think it’s a common technique used in some Chinese cuisines, that is, pouring hot oil onto chopped garlic, ginger, spring onion, and chili to get their flavors out and infuse them into the dish right before serving.
